La GPU para computadora portátil NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 (nombre en clave GN21-X9) es una GPU para computadora portátil de alta gama. Se basa en el chip AD104 como el RTX 4070 Ti de escritorio y utiliza la arquitectura Ada Lovelace. El chip AD104 ofrece un máximo de 7.680 sombreadores (por ejemplo, el RTX 4070 Ti Desktop), de los cuales el RTX 4080 Laptop utiliza 7.424 y un bus de memoria de 192 bits. El móvil RTX 4080 utiliza una memoria gráfica dedicada GDDR6 de 12 GB con una velocidad de reloj de 16 o 20 Gbps (efectivos). El TGP (potencia gráfica total) se puede configurar entre 60 y 150 vatios (+ 25 vatios de impulso dinámico de la CPU), lo que lleva a diferentes niveles de rendimiento (la RTX 4070 Ti de escritorio usa 285 vatios para realizar comparaciones). La velocidad del reloj de refuerzo varía desde 1350 MHz (a 60 vatios TGP) hasta 2280 MHz (150 W). Por lo tanto, el rendimiento también depende mucho de la configuración de energía utilizada para el móvil RTX 4080 en el portátil.
El rendimiento sintético del RTX 4080 está claramente por encima del RTX 3080 Ti móvil en nuestras pruebas y solo superado por el RTX 4090 móvil. En juegos reales vimos que incluso los juegos más exigentes con Raytracing habilitado (como F1 23) se podían jugar en QHD y ajustes máximos. Los juegos menos exigentes como Baldur's Gate 3 se pueden jugar con fluidez en 4k (consulte los resultados a continuación).
El RTX 4080 ofrece 232 núcleos tensoriales (cuarta generación) que permiten DLSS 3, incluida la generación de cuadros para juegos compatibles. Además, se pueden utilizar 58 núcleos de trazado de rayos (4.ª generación) para efectos de trazado de rayos en juegos compatibles.
El chip AD103 está fabricado en 5 nm en TSMC (proceso 4N).
