However, it’s fair to say that the improvements on the iPhone 14 Pro in this regard are marginal and, for most people, not enough to merit purchasing a brand new, very expensive phone for (though of course that’s up to the individual). Image quality is generally about the same as the iPhone 14 Pro. While that means it’s very good, excellent even, but there is no great leap forward in this respect. Most of the improvements come in the form of usability – such as the automatic portrait mode, the additional 1x lens options, and hardware changes such as the new Action button and the addition of a USB-C port for charging.

The new Apple iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max phones brings a plethora of new features and capabilities that this new generation of iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max a worthy successor to the previous models. Every core component has been made better, and that vastly improves the user experience. The inclusion of Titanium, a better camera, and the new and improved chipset dramatically improved its value proposition and it’s all available at the same price tag as the previous model. So, if you have been looking for the best iPhone ever and want to upgrade from an older phone, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are both excellent choices. However, they are not the only smartphone makers in the world. The smartphone industry is highly competitive and smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra can be a worthy alternative to this model.

Seven months with the iPhone 15 Pro and it's easy to see why Apple enjoys its current position in the market. There's so much it gets right and most of it comes through steadfast founding principles rather than just trial and error, which makes it especially impressive. Take the design for instance, which understands that 'big' shouldn't be the default size for a flagship smartphone while also lovingly crafting it out of exquisite materials with outstanding fit and finish. Or that when you buy a flagship phone you should get best-in-class software and after sales support for years to come. These are not decisions that happen to come about at random or through inspiration from others but rather from having decades of history behind them that lead up to this moment. The truth is that this design has run its course because it was never designed for the world we live in today and all the things we demand from our smartphones.

By including a slightly different setup between the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple has created a bit of a dilemma here for photographers. Should they plump for the smaller device but be happy with 3x zoom, or should they pay a little bit more to get a 5x zoom (and other benefits like a larger screen). Again,’s hard to answer that without knowing what kind of shooter you are – some will simply prefer a 3x zoom, while others will crave that little bit of extra reach. Personally, I’d say that for many, the smaller screen and that sensible zoom is just about the perfect balance – but then I’m a fan of smaller phones in general. You may feel differently. What about when we compare it to Android models?

While the iPhone 15 Pro Max may be hogging the spotlight this year, its smaller sibling, the iPhone 15 Pro, is still a great choice. After all, not everyone wants to use a giant phone. The move to titanium was totally the right call to make. Stainless steel, though gorgeous, has proven to be heavy and a magnet for fingerprints. With titanium, the iPhone 15 Pro is much more lightweight than its predecessor, and when combined with the rounder edges, it’s just way more comfortable to hold and use. I know it may seem like I’m overexaggerating, but I’m really not — the difference is night and day if you hold them side by side. The Action button is also a game changer. I’m still keeping it simple for now, but when you combine the Action button with what the community is able to do through Shortcuts, it’s a whole new ballgame.

The iPhone 15 Pro is the phone to get if you want a powerful flagship you can easily use it with one hand. Not only is the titanium design stronger and lighter, Apple made the design smaller with slimmer bezels. You also get very strong cameras with night mode and portrait improvements, blazing performance from the A17 Pro chip and a smart Action button. Too bad only the iPhone 15 Pro Max gets the longer 5x zoom.

The Apple iPhone 15 Pro showed very similar behavior to the iPhone 14 Pro, but its battery experience was slightly below that of its predecessor and quite average when compared to other devices we have tested. The iPhone 15 Pro’s autonomy lasted a bit more than two days when it was used moderately, a decent result even if below average in our database. However, the device’s performance was less optimal when testing individual use cases, especially when gaming and listening to music, where the autonomy was poor. In terms of charging experience, the iPhone 15 Pro took 1 hour and 56 minutes to fully charge with a 30W charger, which was longer than average. The wireless charging time was also longer than average at 2 hours and 41 minutes. Moreover, the additional autonomy gained after a 5-minute charge was 3 hours and 17 minutes on average, which was lower than average in our database.

Apple's latest flagship smartphone titles have been out for a while, and this year the Cupertino-based tech giant has introduced several new features that make the devices more enthralling than ever. This year was not just an iterative update where some minor configurations witnessed an upgrade as we have seen the last couple of years, instead, Apple has brought out some big guns to lure the buyers. While this applies to the non-Pro models, the Pro lineup is where you see the difference. From the titanium frame to the 3nm chipset, big new introductions have been made, and alongside the new USB-C port and the Action Button, familiar features have been replaced with more useful technologies. In short, there is a lot to unpack. But amid all this, the iPhone 15 Pro has been placed in a very interesting position.

The new titanium build, USB-C port and Action Button are just the tip of the iceberg. Its camera performance is what makes the iPhone 15 Pro truly shine, especially the portrait mode and night photography performance. Apple is really emphasising the iPhone Pro lineup's pro moniker, making them devices aimed at content creators or professional users. The iPhone 15 Pro starts at RM5499 (128GB) and is certainly more expensive than most Android flagship models. If you're not into the Apple ecosystem, you can always consider more affordable flagship devices on the Android side, such as the Xiaomi 13T Pro with Leica camera technologies (starting at RM2499), the HONOR Magic 5 Pro (RM4299), Samsung Galaxy S23+ (starting at RM3899) or the vivo X90 Pro (RM4999). That being said, these phones have chipsets that can't compare to the A17 Pro chipset in terms of performance. Something to keep in mind if performance is important to you.

The iPhone 15 Pro isn’t the most exciting upgrade ever, especially when practically every other iPhone in the iPhone 15 collection has had a fairly significant upgrade. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus now have Dynamic Island and a new main 48MP camera, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a new stabilised 5x telephoto lens. The iPhone 15 Pro, however, lacks any unique new hardware, instead employing the same updated design, new materials and USB-C as the Pro Max. That said, the iPhone 15 Pro is very much a great 2023 smartphone with a gorgeous design that’s comfortable in the hand, a stunning display and an extremely capable camera setup. The A17 Pro in particular is a highlight, boasting the best performance of any smartphone alongside the Pro Max, and the knock-on effect on battery life is certainly appreciated. It just doesn’t represent much of a reason for iPhone 14 Pro users to upgrade, is all.

This year, the iPhone 15 Pro feels like a perfunctory update. Where the non-Pro iPhone 15 models picked up meaningful changes and the 15 Pro Max got a powerful new camera, the iPhone 15 Pro, compared to its direct predecessor, got a mere spec bump. However, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of refinement when the base is good. Indeed, the cameras are still great, the titanium construction is fantastic, the display is one of the best around and the performance is streets ahead of the average handset in this price range. As far as iPhones go, the iPhone 15 Pro is the Johannes Factotum of this year’s lineup. It’s certainly not a bad phone, just an unremarkable one by comparison.

With two Pro models in the iPhone 15 range, whether you go for the iPhone 15 Pro or the Pro Max will come down to a couple of factors. If you want a bigger screen or a longer camera lens the Max will sway you. However, for those that want great performance in a phone that fits easily into your pocket and in your hand, the Pro could be the better choice. There's a good reason why the Pro has proved more popular than the regular iPhone in the past and it’s likely to be the same this year. Having the three rear cameras, the always-on display and such a powerful chip are huge selling points of this phone. If you’re upgrading from a 12 Pro or a 13 Pro model, you’ll see a significant improvement in both the cameras and the performance – especially the always-on display and Dynamic Island. I would recommend the iPhone 15 Pro for photography enthusiasts, too, as that 3x zoom is perfect for portraits. It might be that the 15 Pro Max is the ultimate iPhone, but the 15 Pro is still a top option for most users.

The Apple iPhone 15 Pro is a great all-around device. It really has to be given the recommended retail price and the fact that the Cupertino-based company has christened it as its most advanced to date, before next year’s iteration of course. The thing for us though, is that such performance should be the baseline for iPhone, and the one thing that this device is missing is a little bit of charm or that something special. Sure, a titanium unibody adds a premium feel, and the processor is well ahead of the competition, but the innovation from a features or experience perspective is still missing. Having first created this category and pioneered many of the aspects we take for granted now, the “one last thing” that Apple has always been known for, is just not present here. That’s not to say that this is not a great phone, because it is, it just does not stand out in the same way iPhone use to.

The new iPhone 15 Pro has hardly changed visually compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro (review). Technically, however, there are a few innovations—apart from the display—especially for productive tasks and gamers. The focus is on the A17 Pro SoC with 3 nm technology, which offers enormous performance reserves and should soon bring real triple-A titles to the smartphone. And of course: The USB-C port opens new doors in the field of "productivity". The already good camera has improved in many small facets, but without bringing any real innovations—in contrast to the Pro Max model this year. It is all the more pleasing that the iPhone 15 Pro didn't follow the trend of price hiking in the competition.

For the first time in a couple of years buyers of Apple’s top smartphones have a more difficult decision to make on their next upgrade. The iPhone 15 Pro is the best smaller phone on the market by some margin, but it no longer has the best camera on an iPhone. Most of the hardware is the same, but it lacks the 5x optical zoom, which made such a meaningful upgrade to the 15 Pro Max. The smaller 15 Pro is still a significant improvement on previous 6.1in iPhone Pros, now noticeably lighter, with the benefits of USB-C and the handy action button. It has slightly shorter battery life than the Max, but the smaller, lighter and more comfortable to hold design may be worth it. As may the £200 saving, which is significant despite still costing the best part of a grand.

With identical Quad-Bayer image sensors in the main camera, and chipsets, both still image and video quality were very similar between the 15 Pro and Pro Max. However, the two devices use different tele cameras, so it’s not much of a surprise that tele zoom performance was an exception. The A17 Pro in particular is a highlight, boasting the best performance of any smartphone alongside the Pro Max, and the knock-on effect on battery life is certainly appreciated. It just doesn’t represent much of a reason for iPhone 14 Pro users to upgrade, is all.

I still wish I could use the Action button with a double press or triple press, though.

Regardless of which phone you pick, these are very solid phones. Sure, you could make the case that they don’t break new ground and that they are playing catch-up in some ways, but it’s also hard to deny that they are highly capable and do very little wrong. I know I say this every year: anyone who buys these phones will be very happy with their purchase. But I also think that this statement is a little more true this year than the last.

New additions and long-awaited upgrades make this one of the more interesting recent iPhones, though old problems stick around. The iPhone 15 Pro is a fine upgrade from an aging model but not one to immediately rush out and buy, especially when the competition is raising its game.

The iPhone 15 Pro is an exciting upgrade, particularly for content creators like myself. The long-awaited shift to USB-C simplifies charging and data transfers, while the customizable Action Button adds a touch of personalization, which is very uncharacteristic of Apple. Photography hasn't improved that much, but as a creator, it's the native support for LOG video recording that makes the iPhone 15 Pro feel genuinely pro. Assuming Apple can deliver an appropriate fix for its overheating issues that doesn't cannibalize performance, this may be one of the most important iPhones we've seen in a long time.

If you want the best iPhone, you get the latest iPhone “Pro” model. And then you choose either the Pro or Pro Max, depending on which size you find more comfortable and usable. The Pro Max model has longer battery life, but that doesn’t matter if you hate how it doesn’t fit in your pocket or requires two hands, for example. It’s unfortunate that you miss out on the fun 5x telephoto camera if you don’t like really huge phones, but on the upside, you can get the smaller model for “only” $999 instead of the $1,199 starting price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. While it’s true that the iPhone 15 Pro is the best iPhone yet (other than the Pro Max, thanks to the telephoto camera), the improvements are minor enough so as not to inspire upgrade envy. Most users won’t notice the speed improvement or battery life difference.

The iPhone 15 Pro is both an important and not too big update to Apple's flagship, compared to last year's model. Progress in one year doesn't seem like much, but it confirms once again the fact that modern top-of-the-line smartphones are good enough to meet the needs of users for several years to come. So while it doesn't make much sense for iPhone 14 Pro owners to upgrade to the latest model unless they really need a device with USB-C, for those who use 11 Pro and 12 Pro, the difference will already be very noticeable.

It's got the new A17 Pro chip on board, an improved camera, its usual host of helpful apps, a USB-C charging port (thank the gods) and a titanium frame for that premium sensation in hand, but it frequently gets perilously hot, even when not doing anything I'd consider too demanding for a top-spec phone. Will that issue endanger the longevity of what looks like could be the best iPhone yet? Or will iOS 17.1 fix it? We'll see...

The iPhone 15 Pro is a logical if not quite exciting, evolutionary step for the lineup. Small advancement in key areas go with continued refusal to improve on others, but Apple will be Apple. Perhaps that statement alone explains the fact that the new 5x telephoto only comes on the Pro Max and not the Pro, and we're bummed about it on principle, even if it's objectively not a big deal. The high price, scant retail bundle, iOS quirks, and heavy throttling sound like cons we've listed before and will continue to do so. On the other hand, traditional strong points of the iPhone are only getting stronger - like the upmarket build and in-hand feel, spectacular display, versatile camera system and great speakers. We're more than happy to welcome the USB-C port this year on iPhone too. Ultimately, the iPhone 15 Pro is what you'd expect it to be - the best one to date in size small.

Apart from the charm that the Apple iPhone holds, this launched with some very serious issues. Durability, battery, heating, design, there are many issues with the new iPhone 15 Pro. However, it also solves the longest-standing problem with iPhones (Lightning port), and brings an end to the long-standing alert slider in favour of the rather useful action button. After covering technology and reviewing gadgets for about 7 years, I have finally reached a stage where I am getting to review my first Apple iPhone. Naturally, given that it is my first iPhone review, I went for the high-end iPhone 15 Pro since I wanted to experience the best of Apple.

Price is a crucial consideration for many when choosing a smartphone. This year, Apple has made a subtle but impactful change in pricing. While the price difference between the Pro and Pro Max remains the same, Apple has discontinued the 128GB model for the Pro Max. As a result, the entry-level iPhone 15 Pro Max now starts at $1,199 for the 256GB model, while the entry-level iPhone 15 Pro comes in at $999 for the 128GB model. This $200 price gap might influence the decision of budget-conscious consumers. In conclusion, your choice between the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 15 Pro should align with your personal priorities and preferences. If you prioritize a larger screen, longer battery life, and enhanced camera capabilities for your creative endeavors, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is an excellent choice.

While it's far from cheap, the Apple iPhone 15 Pro is a solid value at $999. For $200 more than the standard iPhone 15, you get a much faster processor, an always-on display option with a high refresh rate, longer battery life, a smaller and lighter build, a more capable USB-C port, and a dedicated Action button. If you're willing to spend this much, however, it's worth asking yourself if you want the bigger screen, better battery life, and more camera zoom power that only the iPhone 15 Pro Max can offer, earning it our Editors' Choice award. But if you prefer smaller phones and are content with the 15 Pro's few shortcomings, it's the best small iPhone you can buy.

Making informed decisions about smartphone upgrades can be challenging. The iPhone 15 series, like any other smartphone, has its strengths and weaknesses. It’s imperative to differentiate between valid criticisms and unwarranted hysteria. While Apple is not infallible and has its share of shortcomings, it’s equally important to recognize that every smartphone has imperfections. The iPhone 15 series represents Apple’s commitment to refinement, offering improvements over its predecessors while staying true to its design language. Ultimately, whether you choose to upgrade or stick with your current device, the decision should align with your personal preferences, needs, and your place within the Apple ecosystem. While skepticism is a valuable tool in navigating the tech landscape, it’s equally vital not to get swayed by sensationalized narratives. The iPhone 15 series may not be perfect, but it undoubtedly has its merits and deserves a fair assessment.

Between the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, the choice is perhaps trickier, particularly for photography enthusiasts because of that 5x telephoto. After mulling over this for days, I think it boils down to how often you felt you couldn’t get close enough to your subject. If you frequently wished that the 3x optical zoom cameras of older iPhones weren’t enough, it makes sense to get the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The Apple iPhone 15 Pro is all about refinement. It takes the excellent iPhone 14 Pro and makes a number of tweaks here and there, making the best the company once offered, better. There's plenty to love from the slimmer bezels, the switch to titanium, subtle upgrades in camera sensors, and performance improvements. It doesn't make the headlines quite as much as much as the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the standard iPhone 15 is definitely creeping in on its territory a little, especially with its adoption of Dynamic Island. The iPhone 15 Pro is a bigger change than it might seem on the surface. The lighter weight is a bigger upgrade than you might think, and Apple has upgraded the camera in all the right places. The camera tweaks are also very welcome and you get more detailed shots and new "lenses" that might just become your new default shooting modes. Other changes like the new USB-C port make life so much easier, and so does the new Action button. All of that also comes at the same starting price in the US, while in the UK and Europe Apple is even slashing the prices. However, there is one thing that bothers us still: the A17 Pro chip while fast is reported to get quite hot for some users, and we'd wait to see how serious this issue is and whether you should be worried. In my mind there is no doubt about the goodness that iPhone 15 Pro brings to consumers. It is, easily, the best phone to buy in India right now. It has its issues but then all phones have their issues. On the whole, the iPhone 15 Pro is the best one can get, even if it is pricey. So, who should get it? Well, if you are buying your first smartphone (seriously?) and want something that is the best - money no bar - get the iPhone 15 Pro. Although I will say that on the whole, the "non-pro" iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus this year offer great value for money. But if you are upgrading, the situation is different. Despite seemingly big changes, I feel the iPhone 15 Pro is an incremental update. If you already have iPhone 13 Pro or the iPhone 14 Pro, you should skip this year. But if you are still on the iPhone 12 or an older phone, go for the iPhone 15 Pro. Compared to your old phone, the iPhone 15 Pro will feel like a device from the future.

Overall, while this iPhone doesn't bring a ton of improvements over its predecessor, the ones it brings are pretty impressive. The titanium build and the processor upgrade are both stand-out upgrades. Much of the rest of the phone is the same as last year's already excellent phone. The camera took a small step back in nighttime photography but added the always-on portrait mode capability to the camera so that balances out. The Action button is genuinely exciting, and it will be fun to see how that evolves over the next few generations. If you have the iPhone 14 Pro, you're probably ok to stand pat. You'll get a lot of the enhancements just by upgrading to iOS 17, and while the performance is spectacular coming from the A17 Pro, the A16 bionic was no slouch. You can buy the iPhone 15 Pro from Best Buy right now for a one-time payment of $999.99 (if you activate today) or $27.77 per month for 36 months (3 years) with Verizon Device Payments.

The iPhone 15 Pro, nor the iPhone 15 Pro Max has done enough to steal the crown from the Samsung S23 Ultra as the best smartphone for photographers, but, it compares very favourably against other flagship models and those which are closer in price to the iPhone models.

The 15 Pro is far from a breakthrough. Android phone owners have been enjoying the flexibility of USB-C for years. You’ll also find phones with more zoom, better multitasking capabilities, and a smarter assistant on the other side of the walled garden. But this is the first time these features are all coming together on an iPhone, and it’s an important moment if you’re firmly rooted in the iOS ecosystem, as many people are. A lot of different forces outside of Cupertino helped shape the iPhone 15 Pro into what it is: competition and regulators included. The result is a device that’s unmistakably an iPhone but shaped into something better by the pressure. That’s worth celebrating, whether you’re inside the walls of the garden or out.

This year’s new iPhones actually feel like significant upgrades compared to the last two models. With the introduction of the Action button, USB-C and some camera improvements, the changes coming to Apple’s Pro handsets feel meatier than before. Plus, the new titanium build makes the devices seem refreshed, while under-the-hood advances like the A17 Pro processor and a second-generation ultra wideband chip should make for smooth day-to-day use. Though the individual features seem small on their own, altogether this year’s set of updates add up to more than the sum of their parts. Of course, there’s also the non-pro models of the iPhone 15 to consider, and thanks to their new 48MP sensors and pretty colors, they’re a compelling, lower-cost alternative. They also charge via USB-C and come with the same new portrait image effects, which might be good enough for most people.

f you already have the iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max, there's no single new feature that screams "upgrade," though you certainly won't regret if you do. If you're upgrading from an older device, then the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will be a massive improvement. And, thanks to the freshly introduced USB-C port, there will be a number of Android users who will consider the switch; they likely won't regret it either, as these new iPhones are, in many ways, the most powerful phones you can get. If you're gunning for the Pro Max, you do need to consider the higher starting price of $1,199. Yes, you do get extra storage (256GB vs 128GB last year), but if you're not the type to fill that up quickly, it might be wasted on you. Apple gave its Pro models a glow-up with a refreshed lighter build, a new shortcut button, and the world's smallest processor -- all while managing to keep that tried-and-true iPhone aesthetic front and center. In my time reviewing both phones, I recorded videos of penguins swimming, played the console game Resident Evil Village on the 15 Pro, gave the 15 Pro Max's new zoom lens a spin atop a Ferris wheel in San Francisco, and tried, absentmindedly, to put a Lightning cable into the new USB-C port (old habits, am I right?).

My full review of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max - including camera, battery, and more!

Every phone tested by CNET's reviews team was actually used in the real world. We test a phone's features, play games and take photos. We examine the display to see if it's bright, sharp and vibrant. We analyze the design and build to see how it is to hold and whether it has an IP-rating for water-resistance. We push the processor's performance to the extremes using both standardized benchmark tools like GeekBench and 3DMark, along with our own anecdotal observations navigating the interface, recording high-resolution videos and playing graphically intense games at high refresh rates. All the cameras are tested in a variety of conditions from bright sunlight to dark indoor scenes. We try out special features like night mode and portrait mode and compare our findings against similarly priced competing phones. We also check out the battery life by using it daily as well as running a series of battery drain tests.

The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are also powered by the new A17 Pro chip – the first mass-production 3nm chip. Apple claims dramatic performance improvements but I wasn't able to really experience or test it out. These phones feel fast, but that can be said for every new iPhone. We'll need to run more detailed tests to know for sure. As I said, these year's Pro iPhones are the biggest updates we've had in a long time. The changes, though not entirely ground-breaking, are significant. I'm not sure if you should upgrade if you have last year's phones – I'll need more time to mull over this – but you certainly should if you are using anything older.

Our iPhone 15 vs iPhone 15 Pro comparison will help you decide which new iPhone is right for you. The iPhone 15 Pro series has a sleeker titanium design, new Action button and faster A17 Pro chip. But the regular iPhone 15 has plenty of welcome upgrades, including the Dynamic Island, USB-C and a 48MP camera.

It looks to be another subtle but at the same time sweeping upgrade for Apple’s compact flagship. We’re looking at small but potentially significant improvements to design, power and connectivity compared to last year’s iPhone 14 Pro. For all that, it’s a shame to see the iPhone 15 Pro Max pulling away from its little brother. The addition of a periscope telephoto camera to the Pro Max means that it’s quite clearly the more advanced model this year, which might leave fans of smaller phones feeling somewhat short-changed. That’s especially the case when you consider that the iPhone 15 is a slightly simplified iPhone 14 Pro in all but name, with a display that appears to be a close match for the iPhone 15 Pro’s. We’ve not no doubt that the iPhone 15 Pro is going to be a brilliant phone, but the days of it being the joint top dog may well be firmly in the past.

So, which iPhone to buy? It should be fairly clear cut that it’s the size and weight that will be the most important difference: in spite of its 5X zoom, some people will still prefer a smaller, lighter phone. And if you want a bigger screen. go for the Pro Max model. However, if you do not care about the screen, size and weight and can go either way, the iPhone 15 Pro Max does offer some clear advantages over its smaller, cheaper brother. A better zoom camera and better battery life are nothing to scoff at, and will make a tangible difference in your daily use. On the other hand, is it worth £100/$100 (adjusted for the storage difference)? In the great scheme of things, it’s a small difference: both are expensive phones, some of the best around and both are a great choice.

The Apple iPhone 15 Pro is all about refinement. It takes the excellent iPhone 14 Pro and makes a number of tweaks here and there, making the best the company once offered better. There's plenty to love from the slimmer bezels, the switch to titanium, subtle upgrades in camera sensors, and performance improvements. It doesn't stand out on the page or in the flesh as much as the iPhone 15 Ultra, and the standard iPhone 15 is creeping in on its territory a little, especially with its move to Dynamic Island, but I suspect the 15 Pro will still be the iPhone many will turn to even if it's got some serious competition this year - and from its own team too.

With new materials, a freshened and softer design, USB-C, the wonderful Action button, and what may be a wildly powerful mobile chipset, the iPhone 15 Pro looks primed to be a flagship winner. But that still-stuck-at 3x optical zoom may hold it back and will certainly be outshined by the iPhone 15 Pro Max's new 5x optical zoom.

So, what are you really missing out by saving $200 going with the iPhone 15 Pro as opposed to the 15 Pro Max? Most notably, it’s rocking a smaller sized screen and battery, which inherently would mean a shorter battery life. Additionally, it’s getting a 3x telephoto camera instead of the 5x one that’s exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Those are the only meaningful differences to justify the price difference between Apple’s pro-level iPhones. That savings could be enough to sway people to choose it over its pricier counterpart. And considering that it’s also packing the same Action button, A17 Pro chip, and new USB-C port for faster transfer speeds, I think the iPhone 15 Pro has enough value to warrant the price difference.

On Pocketnow Daily, the new Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra might look the same, but they're not. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus actually got some exciting overhauls that exceeded expectations. Finally, we finally get to see the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, and let's say there's a lot to cover.

Apple's September iPhone 15 event paled in comparison to WWDC, but that doesn't mean things were bad! A whole slew of new updates from last year made it to the standard iPhone 15, all iPhone models gained USB-C (FINALLY!) the new iPhone 15 Pro found titanium, and the 15 Pro Max acquired a prismatic zoom lens. Apple Watch got some updates, a new UWB chip made it into all new devices, and software features involving satellite roadside assistance and portrait mode are sure to make a splash. But we should probably talk about something Apple kinda just blew past. AAA gaming on the iPhone with Assassin's Creed Mirage, Resident Evil, and Death Stranding...

At the end of the day, the iPhone 15 Pro is a bigger change than it might seem on the surface. The big technological breakthrough is the A17 Bionic chip, being the first 3nm chip and all, but even simpler changes like the transition to a USB-C port will make a difference in the way you use this phone and everyday convenience. Those looking for big improvements to the camera system will not find a periscope zoom camera on this smaller model as they would on the 15 Pro Max, so that's one compromise. But if you want a compact flagship phone that makes no compromise, the iPhone 15 Pro is just that.

Apple A17 Pro GPU:
