Las temperaturas del equipo son buenas, algo de throttling en la CPU, pero que no empañan su buen rendimiento. Eso sí, para mantenerlas a raya, los ventiladores generan una buena dosis de ruido no apta para los amantes del silencio. Otro punto negativo es el bloatware que las compañías se empeñan en meter en los equipos, en este caso el "antivirus" de McAffee se encarga de recordarnos cada dos por tres que está ahí con ventanas emergentes realmente molestas. Igualmente, se echan en falta algunas teclas no incluidas, como la de imprimir pantalla. Con todo ello, el ASUS ROG ZEPHYRUS M16 GU603H ha demostrado una buena relación entre rendimiento y tamaño contenido. El Core i9-11900H rinde de maravilla y vuelve a colocar a Intel en la lucha dentro del mercado de procesadores para portátiles de alto rendimiento, además la RTX 3070 resulta una excelente escudera para poder jugar a todo tipo de títulos.

Este portátil es apto para un uso tanto en escenarios de productividad como de ocio o gaming. Y lo hace bien en todos estos apartados. No de un modo excelente en gaming, o con un peso y tamaño que no pueden competir con un equipo de 1,4 Kg y 1,5 cm de grosor, por ejemplo, pero en conjunto estamos ante un buen equilibrio entre rendimiento y portabilidad si lo que buscamos es tener un equipo solvente para todo tipo de tareas. La pantalla es también todoterreno, con una resolución QHD apta para gaming y productividad y ocio multimedia. Tenemos almacenamiento de 2 TB nada menos con casi 7 GB/s de velocidad de lectura y 5 GB/s para escritura. Buena conectividad (y completa), autonomía de más de 6 horas. Poco más podemos pedir a un equipo, la verdad, siempre y cuando no seas un gamer – gamer, claro, o un “roadwarrior”. El precio es una variable con la que hay que jugar, claro está. Y no será barato.

Asus has tried hard to deliver high-end gaming performance in a very slim and light package. The company has succeeded in some ways – just a few years ago, you'd have had to lug around a literal suitcase if you wanted this level of performance. With the Zephyrus M16, that load comes down to 2kg. You can in fact run today's most demanding games at very reasonable settings, and that too at a resolution greater than 1080p on a large, immersive display. Using an external keyboard and mouse would take care of the physical discomfort (and lack of certain keys), and you still have a very portable gaming or multi-purpose machine. If you can live with some compromises and like the idea of a slim and light gaming laptop, this might be a good choice. I still hope to see Asus and other companies use these new CPUs and GPUs in laptops that aren't as fashion-conscious, with beefier cooling systems, for those who want performance and usability without worrying about looks.

Instead, I’d be more worried about the thermals on the higher-power settings and how much of an issue having the hot-air blown straight into the screen is going to be here, something I’m looking forward to properly clarify in that review.
