Simply put, the Asus Zenbook Duo 2024 is a game-changer for laptops in general. It gets dual 14-inch OLED touch displays, good speakers, amazing battery life, and is powerful for most productivity and creative tasks. If you're a journalist, a writer, engineer, programmer, researcher, or an artist, then this is an excellent tool for you. Asus also claims that it is quite durable, but this is something we'll have to test in the long run. For now, if you're looking at a portable productivity powerhouse that's compact and light enough to be carried anywhere, then look no further. I'm going to have trouble using a regular laptop after my time with the Asus Zenbook Duo 2024, it's that good.

On most of the usual measurements and metrics the Asus ZenBook UX482 is a very good laptop. It has a very good screen, performance is solid and battery life is excellent. It also manages to squeeze in roughly the same amount of total screen space as a 17in laptop into a 14in chassis, which is a feat in itself. The main question to ask yourself before you commit to buying one is: are you willing to compromise on the usability of the keyboard and the touchpad in order to gain that extra space? While the answer to this question for some of you will be yes – perhaps you’re sick and tired of the same old laptop design and you’re aching to try something new – most, I suspect, will be conservative and spend their £1,500 more cautiously. There’s nothing else quite like the Asus ZenBook Duo UX482 (apart from other ZenBook Duos) but that will ensure it remains of limited appeal to a niche audience.

Priced at Rs 1,29,990, the Asus ZenBook Duo 14 (UX482) is a solid laptop for content creators but not so good if your work involves working on multiple PCs simultaneously – writing and editing text. That said, the laptop makes a great supplementary unit for portable use. It also makes a good buy for budding content creators with not so heavy daily work flow. For professionals, the laptop’s slightly expensive variant with discrete graphic card makes a better proposition – if not perfect – for everyday use.

The new Asus ZenBook Duo is a powerful laptop with a curious selling point. The second screen might be initially baffling, but already there are some good practical applications for this besides Spotify, and there’s a degree of customisation. How much you get out of this depends greatly on your willingness to experiment with a new(ish) and interesting form. While you’ll be able to comfortably edit photos and video here (with the MX450 version), serious creatives will want to turn their attention to the larger, more powerful ZenBook Duo Pros.

Then again, you won’t be able to upgrade your memory, and the best thing you can do is to get a configuration with at least 16GB of RAM. Despite the significance of the lack of upgrades in this department, we feel like the biggest issue here is the keyboard and touchpad user experience. Does the increased productivity of having a secondary display justify the reduced comfort of using the laptop in general? You decide. Tell us in the comments if you are fine with this keyboard placement, or you prefer a traditional laptop without a second display.

The Asus ZenBook Duo 14 continues to redefine what a laptop is and what it looks like, for the better. And we're a bit shocked that the ZenBook Duo is priced at $200 less than a similarly configured XPS 13 ($1,499), which is similar in speed and endurance. If only it had a little more room for your wrists, and was easier to use in your lap. For longer battery life, and faster performance, you should check out the MacBook Air M1, which costs $50 less when similarly spec'd (with the $1,249 configuration). But for those who want a lot of screen in a single laptop, the Asus ZenBook Duo 14 is definitely worth consideration.

The ZenBook Duo 14 starts at Rs 99,990 for the Core i5 model, but the i7 variant with MX450 GPU will set interested folks back by Rs 1,34,990. It goes without saying that ASUS’ ZenBook Duo lineup comprises the most innovative laptops launched in recent years and content creators will undoubtedly benefit from the ScreenPad+’ added functionality. That being said, the laptop’s design leaves much to be desired and the ZenBook Duo 14 isn’t the most ergonomic machine out there. Consequently, provided you can live with the unit’s awkwardly positioned keyboard and trackpad, the ZenBook Duo 14 will not disappoint you. Else, there are plenty of power-packed options in the segment with conventional designs that will perform just as good, if not better.

When I started using Asus’ ZenBook Duo 14 a few days back, I was under the impression that I would struggle to adapt to a new form factor. Although I did initially struggle, the transaction has been smooth so far. The idea of a dual-screen actually makes sense, though there have been few compromises made to the design which could have been avoided. That said, the ZenBook Duo marks a big change in the hardware and design of a traditional laptop.

Asus ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 is one seriously powerful laptop considering the audience it is aimed at. And one could feel the power while working on apps. Like we said before, Asus has done a pretty good job in refining the design and looks while stuffing more power on the inside. The thermal handling is on point and the ScreenPad+ features are more than what you may use. And all this while offering a fairly decent battery backup is definitely no joke here. But not all laptops are perfect and the ZenBook UX482 has its own share of drawbacks too.

ASUS has almost perfected the formula of the dual-screen laptop in the ZenBook Duo 14 UX482E as we found in our review, offering all the benefits of a dual-screen workstation without the added bulk of the previous generation. There are a few quirks you have to get used to though, and you’d best buy a Bluetooth mouse to use with it for sanity’s sake. Aside from that, the ZenBook Duo 14 UX482E fulfills its promise of being the laptop of tomorrow.

The second display isn’t always perfect, but having a functional small second monitor with your laptop at all times is a highly compelling proposition, works as intended most of the time, and is hard not to appreciate. We think the MacBook Pro and XPS 13 have the edge if you are looking for sheer performance for money, but if this two-screen design appeals to you, it’s well worth its reasonable price. The possible productivity advantage—and the cool factor—can't be measured in mere benchmarks.

The Asus ZenBook Duo is a great all-round Ultrabook, but the ScreenPad arguably adds more issues than benefits. The ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 is not your regular 14-inch laptop. The UX482 improves on its predecessor in every way. The ScreenPad is more useful, the machine is slimmer while retaining great build quality and the CPU is faster. Elsewhere, the UX482 is more mixed. The touch displays offer great quality and versatility, battery life is impressive, and the Asus is cheaper than its rivals, but the second screen hinders comfort, and more performance can be found elsewhere. If you’re going to make ample use of that second screen, then those compromises are worth it – but if the ScreenPad isn’t a vital addition to your workflow then conventional laptops will deliver a more comfortable experience.

The Asus ZenBook Duo 14 UX482E is the company's latest dual-screen laptop. ASUS's ZenBook Duo isn't perfect, but it's surprisingly compelling and a notable upgrade over last year's model. It's no wonder why it won our Best of CES 2021 award for PCs: the Duo is genuinely innovative in a time when many ultraportables are starting to feel stale. What I like most about the ZenBook Duo 14 is that you really can't tell from the outside of the laptop what you'll see when you lift the lid. Despite opening and closing it countless times at this point, I still get a kick out of seeing its secondary 12.6-inch touchscreen rise from above the keyboard to meet the bottom of the main 14-inch display. One screen flows into the next and, with the help of Asus' software, that slim display becomes more useful than you might think (and certainly more useful than Apple's Touch Bar). There are a few compromises that come with the design, but they might just be worth it.

It was 2019 when I bought my first dual-screen laptop. The ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo was focused on creative professionals and so entranced my multitasking soul that I refused to hand it over to Daniel Rubino for the MrMobile/Windows Central collab review we'd planned. In 2020, ASUS improved its two-screen approach and brought it over to the gaming world with the Zephyrus Duo 15, an absolute monster that made it possible for me to play everything from Star Wars Squadrons to Cyberpunk 2077. And for 2021, ASUS is spreading those improvements all across its new laptop lineup – including the ZenBook Duo 14 (2021), a more affordable double display notebook for those of us who like to “stay Mobile.” Join me for the ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 Review, 2021 Edition – and then check out David Cogen's Real World Test featuring the very same ZenBook Duo 14, at TheUnlockr!
