ASUS se ha decantado por un diseño bastante continuista con este Zenfone 12 Ultra, hay pequeños cambios en la parte trasera y en el diseño del módulo de cámaras, pero mantiene la línea de su predecesor. Y si a nivel estético tenemos parecidos con el Zenfone 11 Ultra, a nivel interno la mayoría de componentes son los que ya pudimos ver en el ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition. Procesador y cámaras son los mismos, y la pantalla utiliza el mismo panel Samsung E6 con la misma resolución y pulgadas, aunque en este caso la frecuencia de actualización es más limitada al quedarse en 120 Hz en modo normal y 144 Hz en modo juegos. Ese hardware, que tan buenos resultados nos dio en el ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition, sigue ofreciéndolos en este Zenfone 12 Ultra.

These are genuinely useful and I love the clean ZenUI experience, but the Zenfone 12 Ultra is a tough sell at this price vs the OnePlus 13 etc. That camera setup is merely fine, for instance, although the gaming chops are solid thanks to the ROG Phone foundations. Battery life is also great, so you will enjoy a full day of play from a single charge. Most of the specs seem to be the same vs the 11 Ultra from last year, however. The Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra doesn't upgrade the wireless charging, design, display and many other bits of the hardware compared with the old version. Yes, that camera tech is almost the same too, despite the change to Sony's Lytia sensor for the main shooter. And of course, plenty of AI shenanigans.

We also enjoyed the subtle tweaks to the UI, including things like the rich battery care options.

You’re getting the same overall look, same screen, same cameras, same battery and same charge speeds as the Zenfone 11 Ultra. The Zenfone seems to be meandering about since last year — it grew up in size but didn't add anything specific to the mix besides "it's bigger now". It's sort of like "a ROG Phone that's not a ROG Phone". Sure, it's slightly cheaper, but as a flagship, it feels bland and stale and there's not one thing about it that we can point to and say "Buy it because of THAT!".

Qualcomm Adreno 830: Unidad gráfica integrada en el SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite para smartphones con tres slices de 1,1 GHz cada una. Caché compartida integrada de 12 MB para las tres rebanadas. Según Qualcomm, un 40% más rápida que la generación anterior (Adreno 750).
Estas tarjetas también deben ser capaces de aguantar todos los juegos actuales, pero la mayoría de ellos en configuraciones de detalles medios y bajos y con bajas resoluciones. Juegos más antiguos, o menos exigentes todavía pueden ser jugados con buena calidad de gráficos.
