The iPad is not the only tablet. Of course, Microsoft had invested in a touchscreen laptop interface way before Apple did, it just never took off. Maybe now the iPad is rolling out, interest in Windows touchscreens will flourish. This is a hefty laptop which works well as a conventional notebook, but there are lighter, sexier models around. It's the addition of the touchscreen, and a multi-touch one at that, which is the real success of the Lifebook.

The Fujitsu Lifebook T4410 is a cross between a tablet PC, one with only a touch-sensitive screen for control, and a standard laptop. It has a full keyboard, but the screen can be swivelled around and folded over to cover the keyboard to make it more like a tablet (see our video review for a demonstration). An expensive laptop, but one that’s brimming with features.

The Fujitsu LifeBook T4410 is a bit too large, but delivers performance on a par with standard laptops while offering superior functionality through its stylus-friendly touchscreen. It isn't especially light or attractive, but the business-friendly T4410 offers strong performance in a multitouch-ready, convertible package.

The LifeBook T4410 comes from Fujitsu Technology Solutions' (FTS) Tablet PC range and the company claims it offers ‘all the benefits of an ultra-portable with multiple touch capability'. Fujitsu also says the notebook aims to make users more productive in mobile situations and after using the notebook for a couple of weeks, we have to agree with FTS.
The LifeBook T4410 is a solid machine offering fully-fledged touchscreen functions, decent battery life and healthy application performance.

As configured, the Fujitsu LifeBook T4410 ($1,649) is more affordable than other multitouch tablets, such as the Lenovo ThinkPad X200 or the Dell Latitude XT2, both of which can exceed $2,000. And that’s not even taking into consideration the T4410’s even cheaper configurations (the tablet, with multitouch, starts at $1,299). We like the sturdy build quality and the option of adding an extra battery in the modular bay, but in exchange for the lower price, you get a plain-looking design and a small hard drive. Nevertheless, if you want a smooth multitouch experience for business users on a budget, the T4410 is a solid choice.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: GPU integrado (memoria compartida) em el chipset GM45 (Montevina). Gracias a dos shaders más y una frecuencia de núcleo más alta, es mucho más rápido que el antiguo GMA X3100. Aun así, no es recomendable para jugadores (juegos DirectX 10 no son fluidos y pueden ser jugados sólo con configuraciones muy bajas). El procesador de video integrado es capaz de ayudar a decodificar videos HD (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2), como para una reproducción fluida de Blu-Ray con CPUs lentos.

Estos procesadores gráficos pueden mostrar únicamente juegos antiguos, fluidamente.  Juegos actuales pueden ser presentados con detalles sustancialmente reducidos.

Intel Core 2 Duo: Este es el sucesor Core Duo y el Core Solo con un pipeline más largo y con una velocidad entre 5-20% sin mayor consumo de energía. Adicional al diseño de Core Duo existe un cuarto decodificador, una unidad SSE ampliada y una unidad lógica aritmética (ALU) adicional.

Sus características son: 2 núcleos (cores), una amplificación de comando de 64-bit EM64T y 2 o 4 MB L2 Cache y  291 millones de transistores, que son acabados en 65nm. Mas allá de esto, todos los tipos soportan técnicas "Execute Disable Bit",  SSSE3 (SSE4), Enhanced Speedstep,  LaGrande y la mayoría de técnicas de virtualizacion (VT) Vanderpool.

El Core 2 Duo para laptops es idéntico a los procesadores Core 2 Duo para desktops, pero los procesadores para notebooks trabajan con tensiones más bajas (0.95 a 1188 Volt) y un Frontside bus clock (1066 contra 667 MHz). El rendimiento de laptops cuena con una frecuencia de 20-25% más baja que PCs Desktop debido a una frecuencia más baja de Frontside bus y los discos duros más lentos.
