Análisis para el HP Envy 15-3040nr
The Radiance Notebook. What makes this high-end multimedia laptop so great? For starters, how about its bright 15.6-inch 1080p IPS display? In this review, we scrutinize the latest HP 2012 Envy 15 and explain how it managed to miss an even more spectacular rating.

Ultimately when you put everything together, the HP Envy 15 is actually a pretty good multimedia machine. It does what you need it to do, and does it well without any issues. For those focused on superficial aspects, it would seem to be emulating an Apple MacBook Pro, but as we've mentioned in the review, its color combination and other design elements do give it a slightly unique footprint.

The HP Envy 15 comes with a two-year warranty. We found that a pleasant surprise, considering that these days we seldom see any warranties beyond a year in consumer laptops.HP also didn't skimp on the bundled software for this machine. The HP Envy 15 offers decent performance and terrific audio in a stylish shell.

With good looks and a solid configuration, the HP Envy 15 is a laptop that's worth considering. It's not overly expensive considering it's a premium model, but it's also not as refined as a premium model should be. We'd put in a touchpad with better reliability, a screen with less gloss, a slightly more solid keyboard and a better quality volume control, and we'd add a line input.

Okay, time to get it out of your system. Say it with us: the Envy 15 unapologetically copies the MacBook Pro. Feel good, getting that off your chest? Excellent. Onto the business of evaluating the laptop for what it does. In some ways, the 15 improves on the notebook it so unsubtly imitates: it has a sharper (though imprecisely calibrated) display with wide viewing angles.

The new HP Envy 15 is a fairly slick all-purpose laptop, if a little on the bulky side. It has lots of great wireless and wired connectivity options, fantastic audio, a very useful analog volume dial, and a good keyboard. HP has two major issues to work out before I can recommend it, though. The first is the color-calibration problem on the otherwise very desirable display upgrade option, and the other is the terrible palm detection and stiff clicking on the touchpad. If the company can address those two sticking points, it will be easy to give the Envy 15 a thumbs-up.

The HP Envy 15 has been updated with new features that only added to an already great machine. The 2012 refresh adds a backlit keyboard, volume control wheel and more. Performance is really top-notch thanks to the updated Intel Core i5-2450M CPU, 6GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive.

We really like the HP Envy 15-3040nr: it's a high performance yet portable laptop that's clad in metal and has all the creature comforts you'd expect from a higher end laptop. We like the dual HDMI and DisplayPort with the ability to drive multiple monitors, strong dedicated graphics, backlit keyboard and a full HD 1080p IPS display. Though I purchased the Envy for review purposes, I've decided to keep it as my main Windows machine. It's a fast and capable gamer and Photoshop machine that can run for 5 hours on AC power-- sweet. And I like the aluminum casing, sturdy build and easily accessible internals too.

One of the few consistent high-end Windows laptop lines, HP's Envy series has always impressed with its sharp design, high-end components, and (aside from the too-expensive very first models) reasonable prices. HP's Envy line has always been a reliable high-end PC laptop line, and this new redesign adds some useful features, such as a volume wheel, while keeping the upscale look and feel.

The evolution of the HP Envy line has been interesting to watch. It’s obvious that the engineers responsible for this laptop are learning as they go, improving the laptop with each version. With this new Envy 15 we see not only hardware improvements, but also a cleaner designer, a better keyboard and excellent audio. Battery life is impressive, as well.

Like J.J. Abrams' Star Trek, HP's new Envy 15 is a strong reboot of a franchise that was getting a bit long in the tooth. We like the eye-catching redesign along with the bright, 1080p display, strong performance, and excellent audio. It's not the lightest laptop in its class--and it struggles a bit with the latest games--but those looking for a stylish multimedia laptop will find the Envy 15 to be one of the best money can buy.

Is the ENVY 15 as good as the 15-inch MacBook Pro? No. But considering that for the hardware that we tested you’d have to spend nearly $2000 on an Apple machine, it doesn’t have to be. If you find yourself spending most of your computer time within the reach of an AC outlet, it’s tough to beat for power and media capabilities. I wish it was a little lighter and lasted a little longer, but as a desktop replacement and media consumption/creation specialist, you’d be hard-pressed to find anything with these kinds of specs, fit and finish in this price range.
