Intel P8400

El Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 es un procesador de doble nucleo para portátiles. Presenta 2.26 GHz y una cache compartida de nivel 2 de 3 MB. Debido a la menor cache (los modelos Core 2 Duo usualmente tienen 6MB para esta velocidad), el TDP es de solo 25 vatios (en lugar de los 35 vatios de los modelos de la gama T).

El rendimiento del P8400 está a la par con el rápido Turio II Ultra entre 2.4 y 2.6 GHz. Juegos modernos y exigentes como Supreme Commander pueden verse limitados por el rendimiento de la CPU. Para juegos exigentes deberías elegir un Core 2 Duo a mayor velocidad (o un Core i5/i7).

El P8400 usa un nucleo Penryn (actualizacion Montevina) que presenta 2 unidades de enteros, 1 de coma flotante, 1 de carga y una de almacenamiento en un largo pipeline de 14 estados de largo. Debido a la tecnología Wide Dynamic Execution, el nucleo es capaz de ejcutar de forma simultanea hasta cuatro instrucciones.

La tecnología integrada Speedstep mejorada es capaz de reducir la velocidad del nucleo de forma dinámica hasta 800 MHz para ahorrar energia (en modo reposo).

El Core 2 Duo P8400 puede usarse en un conector SocketP con 479 pines: Socket P/ Micro Flip-chip Pin Grid Array (Micro-FCPGA) requiere una superficie de 479 pines montada en un zocalo Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) (mPGA479M) o Micro Flip-Chip Ball Grid Array (Micro-FCBGA) para el montaje de la superficie (479-ball).
