Slight camera disappointments aside, there’s a whole lot to recommend about the Moto G50. It looks great, has a decent screen, includes 5G support, has an incredible battery life and is only a hair behind the Poco X3 NFC in terms of performance for £200. Factor in the nice, clean installation of Android and it’s clear Motorola is on to a winner here. I’d still probably buy the Poco X3 NFC if £200 was my absolute budget thanks to improved performance and a Full HD 120Hz screen, even though it lacks 5G. And if photography is your thing then I’d probably suggest trying to find last year’s Moto G9 Plus instead, which offers better shots and similar performance for the same price. All the same, the Moto G50 is probably my pick of the sub-£200 Motos, offering a great all-round package that’s hard to beat for the low cost of entry. And if 5G is vital to you, there’s really not much else at this price.

At P10,495, the Motorola moto G50 5G is one of the cheapest devices you can get if you want to jump on the 5G bandwagon. On paper, it seems fine—a large screen with 90Hz refresh rate, a trio of main cameras, and a Dimensity 700 chip. The moto G50 5G won’t wow you with its looks and cameras, but if you’re after a capable, long-lasting handset with a huge display and a decent processor, then you can’t go wrong with this one.

The Nokia G50 is another sub-$300/£200 phone with 5G, and it benefits from solid build quality and clean software. Like its direct rivals, however, it makes several telling compromises to hit those next-gen network speeds. You really need to ask yourself how much 5G is worth to you before committing to any of these phones, but if you do, the Nokia G50 won’t let you down.

If you spend most of your phone time glued to Netflix or YouTube, the G50's giant screen is certain to please - and seeing how 5G SIM-only plans can be had from as little as a tenner a month, buffer-free viewing should be guaranteed. Nokia's most affordable 5G handset is no speed demon, though, so anyone coming from an older flagship might be frustrated by the at times sluggish performance. Its multiple cameras are never going to blow you away, and for no extra outlay, the identically-named Motorola Moto G50 adds a 90Hz display into the mix. If you're not fussed about 5G, you can find more CPU muscle for your money if you shop around the lesser-known Chinese brands like Poco, Realmi and Redmi. They also have varying degrees of Android customisation, though - and more flexible commitment to software updates. The G50, on the other hand, should still be bang up to date in two years' time. Not too shabby for £200.

The Motorola g50 5G has a budget system-on-a-chip, 720p screen, mono speaker and plastic construction. That, my friends, is how you make a $399 phone. It works well, has Wi-Fi AC, NFC, 5000mAh battery, and the camera is OK. But it does the question – do you need to spend $100 more for the Edge 20 Fusion? If $399 is all you have, then the is no better. Or if it is a stretch then 5G phones start from $349 and frankly there are some excellent devices – Samsung A22 128GB $299, vivo Y52 128GB $379, OPPO A54 64GB $399, realme 7 128GB $439 and OPPO A74 128GB $449. If you see enough difference and value, then go to the $499 Edge 20 Fusion. That is not to belittle the g-50, but there is way over $100 value in moving up.

So, all in all, the Motorola Moto G50 5G isn’t a bad phone. At PHP 10,495, there are a lot of better phones at this price range from its competitors, but if you are looking for a smartphone that can perform well to your basic day-to-day needs, has a 5G connectivity, good battery life, 90Hz screen, and a lean Android build, you’ll be fairly happy with this phone.

Our review of the Motorola moto G50 5G shows that it could have been a top contender for a budget 5G smartphone in the Philippines if it wasn’t for the dim display and the bad selfie lag we experienced during its time with us. There are some bright spots – its Php 10,495 price tag is pretty competitive, and its long battery life is useful especially for people who can’t be arsed to charge their phone daily.

In fact, this conclusion applies to pretty much all of the phones in the new crop of "affordable 5G handsets". The addition of 5G to cheap phones brings little value to the end-users. In fact, the manufacturers' push to bring 5G to the lowest price tiers is counter-productive for consumers as it results in having devices with severe drawbacks in other areas. We feel like these cheap 5G phones are merely intended to bolster carrier portfolios around the world and help promote their budding 5G networks rather than meeting any practical consumer needs and we find them hard to recommend over their LTE-only counterparts.

All in all the Moto G50 isn't a bad phone. If you bought one you'd probably be content with its capabilities. What it is, however, is a confusing entry to the G-series, skewing the range's numbering convention and delivering a handset that - aside from the 5G addition - is largely worse off than the lower-spec and lower-price G30. And that just compounds the G50's problems: its competition, both from within Motorola and outside, is strong to the point that there's not a huge amount of reason to consider it. Sure, having 5G is nice, but is it the one outstanding feature that'll make you want to buy a phone? No, not really. We'd rather have a wide-angle camera. So save some cash and get the G30, or spend a touch more and look elsewhere instead.

Not bothered about that extra layer of tech skimmed off to accomodate 5G? You’ll probably like the Motorola Moto G50 a lot. It performs reasonably well day-to-day and the battery life is excellent. Like the best Moto G phones it nails the basics and comes with no day-ruining problems.

Theoretically the superior version of the Moto G30 if you were to listen to product names, the Moto G50 is another one of Motorola's cheap Android 11 phones for 2021, coming in at £199.99 (around $275 / AU$360). As a 5G phone it's one of the cheapest ways to jump on the 5G bandwagon, but elsewhere its feature set is a little more unassuming. While everything about the Moto G50 is just fine - from its 90Hz screen to its Snapdragon 480 chipset and trio of main cameras - nothing actually stands out as much as we'd like it to. At this price, that's less of an issue than you might think given the Moto G50 is solidly dependable in every way. Just don't expect to be wowed at any point. This is the phone to buy when you're on a budget and you don't mind not having a phone to show off to others.

The Motorola family just keeps growing and growing. I’ve completely lost track of all the models that are currently on the market, and the naming scheme doesn’t help either. The Moto G50 is one of the latest additions to the family and it’s a small brother rather than a distant cousin. The big star of the show is the Moto G100, of course, but there are three other models in the latest batch (at least for now) - the Moto G10, Moto G30, and the subject of today’s review - the Moto G50. (A quick search confirmed my suspicions - there is a G20 model too, along with a G40 fusion… Oh, well - case in point.)

Close competitors like the Redmi Note 9T cost more and force you to use quirky custom versions of Android. For anyone content with 4G speeds, though, there are plenty of options that outmuscle the Moto for similar cash.

Well, we got acquainted with the next budget model from Motorola. Why choose it, and not other novelties of the G-series or not models of competitors? Maybe you like the design, maybe you’re a fan of the brand, maybe you’ll get a good discount. Among the advantages of the Moto G51 are ‘clean’ and well-optimized Android, a nice 120 Hz screen (although an IPS one), a durable battery, a decent (considering the price) set of cameras. The processor is not the best, but it is enough for basic tasks. There is very little memory. 10W charging is not serious in 2022. What alternatives are available? There are many. For example, Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro 6/128GB costs a little more, but has an almost high-end SD 720G processor, 30W charging, better cameras, more memory. OPPO Reno 5 Lite 8/128GB is also a little more expensive and much more interesting in terms of features. From the same series – a fresh hit POCO M4 Pro 5G 6/128GB from Xiaomi. Of the good old hits, you cannot help mentioning realme 8 and POCO X3 Pro.

Overall, the Moto G51 is a well-balanced 5G solution, especially if it makes its way to the US market. There are only a few 5G-enabled options in this price range, so the G51 sits comfortably in that spot. That is, of course, in case 5G is top-priority. Sadly, 5G still isn't a thing in most countries, so if you are willing to "settle" for the 4G LTE network for the next couple of years, other models might accommodate your needs better. The long battery life, the big, bright and smooth display and the adequate camera performance are nice to have, but they aren't enough to make the G51 stand out.

Moto G51 handles the basic chores pretty well. The clean software experience is what you should get the phone for. Your notifications' panel with forever remain free of spammy ad links because the phone doesn't come with bloatware. The phone is especially good for watching movies or streaming web series. It is also a decent choice for gaming as the phone didn't overheat even after hour-long gaming sessions. The battery life is also good and lasts you a little over a day. Now coming to the downsides, the phone comes with an LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is bright but not one of the best you will find in the market. The low-light camera performance of the smartphone could have been better. If these points are okay with you, then the Moto G51 will not disappoint you in any way.

The Motorola Moto G51 5G is a new smartphone from Motorola that joins the popular G series family. It’s a budget-friendly phone with a starting price of Rs 14,999, and it rivals in the same price range as phones from Redmi, Realme, and POCO. On paper, the G51 has some amazing specifications, including a 120Hz FHD+ display, a 5,000mAh battery, and a stock Android experience. Though the phone cannot be considered the best gaming smartphone due to the low RAM and storage space, gamers will surely have issues over time. In this device review, I’ll talk about whether it’s worth the asking price and about how it compares to the competition.

With the Moto G51, Motorola has paid close attention to the smaller things, those finer details that one may not notice when glancing through the specs of the phone online, but become obvious once you actually use the smartphone. There's a quality 120Hz refresh rate display with good resistance to fingerprints. Yes, the phone is bulky, but you also get handy features such as an IP52 rating. There's also no annoying preinstalled third-party apps like on many competing smartphones and the near-stock software is lean and fun to use. Still, there are a couple of things that Moto G51 doesn't do as well as the competition. Realme's Narzo 30 5G (Review) shoots better quality photos and is also better at gaming. It's also lighter at 185g. If more internal storage is something you crave, then the Moto G51 might be a deal breaker, as it only has 64GB of storage, which is expandable but at the cost of losing the second SIM slot. The Redmi Note 10T (Review), Realme Narzo 30 5G and the Poco M3 Pro 5G (Review) all have a 6GB RAM variant with 128GB of internal storage, which make them easier to recommend.

There are question marks about the phone’s low-light camera performance, the stuttering 120Hz screen, along with slow charging speeds. However, I believe that the Moto G51 is definitely a phone worthy of consideration. It offers a clean software experience that isn’t bogged down by unnecessary bloatware and themes, and Motorola has a good history of sending updates on its Moto G series phones regularly as well. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ chipset appears to offer a competitive level of performance and the battery life is excellent. In the overall scheme of things, the Moto G51 appears as a new and reasonably compelling choice in the affordable segment.

The strongest selling points of Motorola's recent phones are their near-stock Android software and IP ratings. The Moto G51 builds on this and offers the new Snapdragon 480+ processor, a 120Hz refresh-rate display, and 5G, which seems good enough for a budget 5G contender. Its Rs. 14,999 price tag also seems quite competitive. So how does Motorola stack up against existing budget 5G players including Redmi and Realme? Stay tuned for my detailed review.

The Motorola Moto G51 smartphone’s main selling point would be its pure Android interface. Otherwise, the overall experience with this phone wouldn’t let you down. As per the price specs, the ratio is great as you’re getting 5G support, decent camera setup, robust performance, long battery life, and much more in this phone. However, you will find a better alternative in the same price range that offers the same 5G connectivity. We like to point out the flaws in mid-level photography and slow charging. But if you don’t support the presence of custom UI, the Moto G51 is worth recommending to you. However, if this device is not available in your home market, checking out the Oppo K9s in the same price range would be a great choice.

Wrapping up this review, the Moto G52 is an excellent phone for the price—no doubt. It ticks almost all the boxes for a great all-around smartphone experience, be it in terms of design, display, software, or battery. Granted that the cameras could’ve been a bit better here, but most phones in this price range have a strictly average camera, so maybe we should also limit our camera expectations from a budget phone, to begin with. Take its prime rival, the Redmi Note 11, for example. So, looking past this, the Moto G52 is an easy recommendation if you want an all-rounder phone for under 15,000 Indian rupees.

The Moto G52 retails for Rs 14,499 and for the price, gets a few things right. That’s not to say that the phone is perfect and from its average cameras, sub-par performance and a finicky fingerprint reader, the G52 does leave something to be desired. On the bright side, the handset ships with an incredible display which amplifies the viewing experience considerably as compared to some other phones in the same price bracket. I am in awe of the phone’s well-tuned stereo speakers, along with the handset’s super clean MyUX interface too. Consequently, buyers looking for a phone to consume a ton of media on should keep the G52 at the top of their wishlist. On the other hand, if you prioritise a handset’s performance above everything else, then you would probably be better off with devices like the POCO M4 Pro 5G.

The Moto G52 from Motorola is quite the mixed bag of pros and cons, making it a difficult one to rate. Then again, most affordable mid-rangers have that in common. If you don’t mind having short and somewhat poor software support and the lack of 5G, most downsides of the Moto G52 can be more or less overlooked. Yes, the vibration motor feels like the equivalent of holding a slug, and the back panel vibrates while watching media, but there are workarounds to these issues. The only major setbacks that I see here is the stuttering that sometimes happens every now and then, as well as the poor low-light camera performance. On the other hand, you get a screen with great colors, contrast, smooth animations, and brightness levels. Add the amazing battery life, good audio quality, capable main camera when there’s enough light, a very affordable price tag, and the G52 becomes quite an appealing device. All things considered, Motorola’s Moto G52 mid-ranger is a great bang for your buck, as long as its few mishaps don’t matter too much to you as a user.

If you are a big fan of Motorola and looking for a pure Android phone with a good design, display, and battery then the Moto G52 smartphone will be the perfect phone for you. The price is not fully justified taking into account the internal specifications you get from this smartphone. If you want to take a look at an alternative option, the OnePlus Ace smartphone is an excellent smartphone that is currently available in the same price range. You can even get a better screen, camera, and battery support on the OnePlus Ace phone, plus 5G support is also available.

The good bit about the Moto G52 is that it is extremely lightweight and comes with a stunning display. The speakers with Dolby Atmos and Snapdragon Sound add up to the good part. The phone has a clean user interface with customisable options. The battery life is decent and can last more than a day easily. However, the Moto G52 is not future-ready, meaning it does not have the 5G connectivity. This should not be an area of concern as 5G network rollout is still a few months away. The camera performance is average and may not fit well for people with a keen interest in photography. Overall, the phone is a decent pick if your usage revolves around consuming content on your mobile screen. The phone is also a perfect buy for those who want a lightweight build and a clean, stock Android experience.

The Moto G52 is yet another smartphone in the already crowded sub-Rs. 15,000 segment. Motorola has made slightly unusual choices to give the Moto G52 a fighting chance here. The company has focused on entertainment, offering a crisp pOLED display and stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos and Snapdragon Sound. It runs Android 12 out of the box and you'll get one guaranteed software update along with three years of security updates. Those looking to use their smartphone for multiple years will find this appealing. I don't find the lack of 5G connectivity to be a deal-breaker at this point in time. Sadly, the Moto G52 falls short when it comes to camera performance, and failed to put up a strong fight in different conditions. If you are a casual user who prefers stock Android and wants a device for media consumption, the Moto G52 should fit the bill. However, if you are looking for better performance, you could consider the Vivo T1 (Review) which is currently discounted, and starts at Rs. 15,990.

It is a no-brainer that after years and years of disappointing products, Motorola has a winner with the Moto G52. Compared to the Redmi Note 11, which is the most popular one in the market, the Moto G52 ends up with a sweet display, a more stylish and superior build quality, overall better rear cameras, and a superb battery life. The Android experience on the G52 is also second to none at this price range. However, compared to something like a Micromax In Note 2, the G52 looks sad or dull, feels inferior to hold, and may not have the more desirable glass build. But then again, the choices in this segment are limited and based on all that’s available, the Moto G52 ends up being our top recommendation for a phone starting under Rs. 15,000. Note that the base 4GB/64GB variant will be inadequate and you should get the 6GB/128GB variant for a comfortable storage experience.

Looking at both the Moto G53 5G and Moto G23, I can’t help but feel that Motorola has taken an excellent phone and cleaved it in two, leaving a pair of devices that feel frustratingly close to exceeding the value offered by the Moto G62 5G but ultimately fall short. The G53 5G manages to put in a strong enough showing across performance, battery life and display quality to be a better overall proposition than the G23, but it still struggles to escape the G62 5G’s shadow. If you want a budget Moto, the G62 5G is the best bet, with its stronger display, competent battery life and robust camera array. Otherwise, you can get a gorgeous AMOLED display with the similarly priced Xiaomi Redmi Note 11, so long as you don’t mind ditching 5G.

Motorola’s Moto G series of wallet-friendly smartphones have always had the aim to offer the essential features you need from a phone without a sky-high price tag, and that is certainly the case with the Moto G53. While there are always going to be some trade-offs when comparing it against some of the best phones available right now, as an overall budget phone experience, Motorola remains unrivalled. The main aim of the Moto G53 is to put 5G data speeds in the hands of many, while offering a perfectly usable smartphone experience. It’s a solidly built device, even if its overall design is a little uninspired, but the star of the show is its battery life, which should keep you going for well over a day. Motorola has also done well to include a 120Hz refresh rate screen, especially in a phone that costs as little as this, which helps to give general navigation a less-budget feel, but the display quality in general does live up to its low-cost nature.

The Motorola Moto G53 5G smartphone really misses the mark, which is unusual for Motorola which is pretty good at delivering value in this price range. In an effort to shave a few dollars off the price tag, Motorola has delivered a handset that is a big step down from its last few handsets in this category range. Especially when it comes to the quality of the screen. If you can find a good price on the older Moto G51 5G, it will serve you a lot better in many ways than the new Moto G53 5G. Ultimately, this phone is for people on a tight budget who are content with some compromises.

The Moto G53 is another perfectly functional phone from Motorola, but its hardware doesn’t feel quite as well thought through as previous entries. What use is a 120Hz refresh rate when the hardware isn’t quite up to the task of outputting consistently smoothly? Especially when that display has a sub-optimal 720p resolution and mediocre colour accuracy. Another slightly superfluous inclusion is 5G connectivity. Sure, it’s a nice thing to have, but at this end of the market, it typically comes at the expense of more useful features, like a Full HD display or a superior processor. The main 50Mp camera can hold its own in very good lighting, but it suffers in tricky conditions, and there’s no ultrawide option, just a pointless macro lens. Motorola’s clean Android UI is here to save the day, as always, and will always be a point of distinction over better-specced Xiaomi rivals. But I can’t escape the feeling that Motorola needs to focus its affordable phone efforts a little and hone in on what really matters.

Moto G53 showed average results. On the one hand, we have excellent battery life, a beautiful design, a screen with an extended 120Hz refresh rate and narrow bezels, and pure modern Android. But the screen is a prehistoric HD IPS, the cameras are simplistic, performance is poor, charging is only 10W.... Motorola has sacrificed too much to support 5G in this model. And the worst part is that the G53 is losing out to the Moto G series smartphones that came out in 2022 (G52, G72, G82, etc.), not to mention the competition from other companies.

There is plenty to like about the Moto G53. Like I said earlier, I am really glad that Motorola decided to opt for a very high display refresh rate with lower resolution than the other way around. The camera is good enough for everyday use and taking quick snapshots. Yes, video stabilization is quite bad, but we have to remember the low price Motorola is selling this phone for. To put it simply, the Moto G53 is nothing special but it covers all the basics that you would expect to be covered for a really budget-friendly phone. As long as you are well aware of its setbacks and can live with them, you will likely be happy with your purchase.

The Motorola Moto G53 has plenty of promise for its price. There's a lovely lightweight design with a big display, a decent sized battery and a good camera spec. We have high hopes the Moto G53 will be a solid performer and a great option to choose if your budget is under £/$200. We still need to test this device in full for our final verdict but for now, things are looking good.

The Moto G53 5G is not a particularly exciting device. It offers a decent overall package with things like stereo speakers, solid build quality, a 120Hz refresh rate with great management and a big battery with excellent battery life. Its clean Android 13 OS is also snappy and imbued with a whole bunch of useful yet non-intrusive Moto extras to enjoy. We do not doubt that the phone will serve less-demanding users well. However, there is no point beating about the bush - the Moto G53 5G is not a great deal on the current market. For whatever reason, Motorola simply decided to downgrade too much about the G5X line in order to accommodate 5G connectivity. We just need to pit the G53 to its G52 predecessor to quickly see some of these major downgrades, like the inclusion of a rather unimpressive 720p LCD instead of a 1080p OLED panel, the lack of an ultrawide camera and the relatively low performance of the Snapdragon 480+ chipset. Some downgrades are downright perplexing, like the decision to drop the 30W fast charging and replace it with basic 10W charging, which is almost extinct even at this price point in 2023. As we already mentioned, for a less demanding user, perhaps with a nice contract deal from your carrier, the Moto G53 can be perfectly satisfactory. However, if are considering the retail price sticker, we would probably keep looking since better phones are easy to come by.

Unboxing Motorola's Moto G53 5G, a £189 budget smartphone packing a 50MP camera, solid battery life and a stock Android 13 experience. This hands-on review of the Moto G53 5G shows off the gaming performance, tours the Motorola app and tests the camera to see if it's one of the best affordable phones of 2023. This budget mobile is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 480 Plus, with 4GB RAM, so it's not exactly a powerhouse. Everyday running is fine but gamers will be limited to the likes of PubG and CODM. On the flip side, the Motorola Moto G53 5G can keep going all day with excellent battery life. And I love the vanilla Android 13 UI, plus those bonus Moto features. Camera fans will have to be aware of this blower's optical limitations. The 50MP camera sensor is great for daylight snaps and can shoot a decent home movie. However, in more ambient light you'll get grainy results while moving subjects can often ruin a photo. So are you tempted by the Moto G53 5G? Check out my unboxing and review of the Moto G73 to see how this more premium budget smartphone compares!

It’s a complete combination with 5G connectivity on top. Overall, if you prefer stock android more than custom skins, then this device can provide those attributes.

Now, onto recommendations. As I mentioned, each smartphone has its own set of advantages, and the price reflects that. When you choose between the Moto G14 and G24, you’re essentially choosing between a 90Hz HD+ screen and a 60Hz FHD+ screen, along with different designs. If battery life and power are more important to you, then pay a little extra and go for the G24 Power. The difference between the Moto G32 and Moto G54 also comes down to price primarily, and by paying a bit more, you get Moto Now, optical stabilization, a larger battery, a better display, and 12GB of RAM. However, you lose the SD card slot. And the choice between the Moto G72 and Moto G84 5G, I’ve essentially explained.

The Motorola Moto g54 5G’s global battery score ranked in the bottom half of our database after weak showings in autonomy, charging and efficiency, despite having a large 5000 mAh battery. Under moderate usage, the Motorola Moto g54 5G provided 53 hours and 6 minutes of autonomy, which is slightly below average. In outdoor scenarios, overall autonomy performance was above average, except for browsing social apps and using navigation functions. Testing of individual use cases showed that the device struggled in most scenarios. The Moto g54 5G ships with a 15W charger. Charging time was below average, taking 2 hours and 31 minutes to reach a full recharge. Because of the relatively low-powered charger, the device could regain only 1 hour and 42 minutes of autonomy from a 5-minute quick charge boost, positioning the device near the low end of our database.

The stingy plans for OS updates and essentially pointless low-light photography threaten to derail the G54 5G, but even with those factors in play, there are few, if any, competitors that offer the same kind of value that we’ve got here. The display, while still just an IPS panel, is of a class that isn’t common below the £200 mark, performance is punching well above its weight and the cameras get some solid improvements over the G53 5G. Throw in the extra RAM and storage, as well as the £10 price cut, and the Motorola Moto G54 5G isn’t just the best cheap Moto in a while, it’s also one of the best-value handsets on the market.

Taking everything into account, the Moto G54 5G does offer some great features and specs from a good user experience, to the main 50MP camera and great battery life at a very reasonable price. That being said its not all sunshine and rainbows. I would like to see the 2MP macro lens with something more appealing either a ultra wide or extra lens to really make the pics pop even more, to support more than one major OS update but at this price point that can be slightly forgiven. In all honesty, the Moto G54 5G is a good all rounder at a sub $300 device and for those who don want or need all the bells and whistles, or looking to get their first ever Android device, this would be a recommendation. The Moto G54 5G is available in midnight blue and indigo blue and will be available through the Motorola website alongside retail partners JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and Officeworks for $299.

Motorola had a disappointing outing with the previous G53. Yes it was certainly affordable, but too many corners had been cut to reach its low asking price. Somehow, the smartphone stalwart has made dramatic improvements with the G54 5G, and dropped the price even lower. Virtually all aspects of the device have undergone complete revision, with the standout feature in my opinion being its display, which I reckon only the most seriously nitpicky could find fault with. Photography is still not the G54's forte, but as an all round smartphone experience, for the money, I don't believe you'll find better.

Anyone in the market for a budget phone has a lot of choice at the moment. Nokia, OnePlus, even Samsung have models available that pack a lot of functionality into a cheaper package. Motorola has tried to one-up its rivals with the G54 5G, adding 256GB of storage, 8GB of RAM, a 120Hz screen, and the all-important 5G data connection to a phone that costs under £200. While not all of the tech in the phone is right up to date, and the camera can’t match those on more expensive models, this is a phone that should still be useful by the time its three years of updates run out.

Unboxing the Motorola Moto G54 5G, a budget £200 smartphone boasting an OIS camera, respectable gaming performance, long battery life and more. The Motorola G54 actually offers double the storage of an £800 iPhone 15, plus features like microSD support and a headphone jack. So here's a hands-on review of this Moto phone to see if it's one of the best options for that price. That 50MP camera is quite basic, as you'd hopefully expect at this budget cost. But the Motorola Moto G54 5G can still capture decent enough pics even with strong or low lighting, if you know how to handle it. Gaming chops are just about good enough for Genshin Impact, but that frame rate won't be too smooth. You're best off with PubG etc. Battery life is cracking, while Motorola has stuffed 256GB storage into the Moto G54 5G, expandable via microSD up to 1TB.

Albeit nothing far too impressive, the Moto G54 5G is still good enough to do the job. True, it might not have the brightest display, the best speakers, or the ideal performance. Still, it’s decent enough to meet your most basic needs. Undoubtedly, the unimpressive charging speeds may put some people off. The same goes for the overall camera quality. Additionally, it’s rather disappointing to see or, to put it more accurately, not to see an ultra-wide sensor. But we have to stay mindful of the device’s price range. In short, as long as you’re aware of its shortcomings and are willing to live with them, the Moto G54 5G will deliver good enough performance for most everyday tasks.

The moto g54 5G has a lot to offer for the price of ₹15,999, the first is its 5G connectivity and the second is its compressive camera package. The overall camera performance is impressive, we liked its camera features including the Spot Color for video, dual capture, and ultra-wide + macro modes. In addition to that, you get a 120 Hz smooth display, a reasonably good CPU + GPU performance for the price, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, clean Android 13 with Moto gestures, a long-lasting battery (6,000 mAh), and gives you an option for larger 12 GB + 256 GB variant. For those who are looking for a 5G smartphone in the ₹15K budget, the moto g54 5G is a recommended buy, grab it with an ongoing discount of flat ₹1,500 which makes it a good deal.

What the Motorola Moto G54 5G lacks in design and display chops, it makes up for in battery life and raw performance. At under ₹15,000, you also get a surprisingly good primary camera that clicks some stunning pictures in ideal lighting conditions. The 2-day-long battery life is one of the phone’s best features and 33 W of fast charging is serviceable for the price too. What disappointed me was the dull and dim IPS LCD display.

The Moto G54 5G is priced in India at Rs 15,999 for the base 8GB RAM variant, while the 12GB RAM option costs Rs 18,999. There is hardly any other smartphone within the segment that offers 12GB RAM with 256GB storage onboard. But, you might find options such as the Samsung Galaxy M34 5G (review), which boasts a vibrant AMOLED display instead of LCD and promises four years of major software updates. Alternatively, you can go with the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite (review), which has superior software support. It also comes with a 108MP primary camera and a 67W fast charging solution. Or the Realme 11 5G (review), which also supports 67W fast charging. The Motorola smartphone, in contrast, is better than its competitors in the audio department. Its Dolby Atmos-powered stereo speakers impress with its crisp audio. While its software support may be somewhat lacking, the handset’s user interface stands out as one of the cleanest in its segment.

If you have read all the words I have written so far in this review, you will realise what the answer is going to be. In my opinion, the Moto G54 is an easy recommendation at its price point. The Motorola G54 offers great value for money, particularly to those who want a powerful phone with great battery performance. Some parts of it - camera and design - could have been better. But I feel even without that, the Moto G54 offers a combination of clean software, functional design, good performance and great battery life. Even though the camera is fairly usable, it's just that it is inconsistent. Overall, this means the Moto G54 justifies its price. Particularly, the base variant with its MRP of Rs 15,999, offers incredible value for all those who are looking for a functional and sorted smartphone.

Motorola Moto G54 Power Edition turned out to be one of the most interesting smartphones in its price category. It has excellent battery life, a nice IPS screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, very good cameras, and a large amount of RAM and internal memory that can be expanded with a MicroSD card. It's also worth adding eSIM support, stereo sound, and a nice bonus in the form of a standard headphone jack. Of course, any available model has compromises that may be important to a potential owner. Moto G54 Power Edition has a not very productive processor, and the maximum video resolution is FullHD. The smartphone costs 8499 UAH and the only competitor is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12. It has an AMOLED display but a smaller battery.

Let's not beat about the bush here - there is nothing particularly impressive or majorly appealing about the Moto G54 Power. Well, perhaps other than the battery life, but that is right there in the name and kind of a given on a 6,000 mAh pack. The rest of the experience the phone offers is kind of mundane and without surprises. this also means there are no bad surprises either. The Moto G54 does what it does without too much fanfare. It is an okay budget device that does have certain nice aspects to it, particularly for the price range. The 120Hz refresh rate and the relatively good way the dynamic refresh rate is handled on the phone are much appreciated. The ability to lower said refresh rate down to 30Hz to conserve power is a great addition to the mix. The Moto G54 Power also has a surprisingly solid stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos and Spatial Audio support. The camera setup, while nothing to phone home about, is also quite versatile thanks to an autofocusing ultrawide that doubles nicely as a macro shooter.

The Motorola Moto G54 Power 5G is a good device that has a capacious battery, a decent chipset and a clean interface. It’s a good option for those looking for a hassle-free smartphone, or for those who don’t want to deal with the over-bloated UI that devices in this range usually offer. It should be noted that the Moto G54 Power is a surprisingly powerful budget smartphone that offers better performance than I expected. Its camera could have been better and more full-featured, the charger is more powerful considering the large battery capacity, but still, it’s hardly the best phone in its price category. All in all, the Motorola Moto G54 Power 5G is a great choice for those looking for a budget smartphone with good functionality and decent performance.

It’s easy to decide if the Moto G54 Power is a good phone, or not. It all depends on what you plan to do with it. Take it to the mountains and not have to panic over whether your phone will die? The Moto G54 Power is for you. But if you take it to the mountains and expect to catch some breathtaking photos and videos, then look elsewhere. If you know the Moto G54 Power’s limitations and you just want a daily driver that doesn’t get in your way, but it’s there when you need it, this is the one. Just remember to go for the 12GB RAM version and set that screen at the 120Hz refresh rate – budget phones can be cool, too.

If you’re looking for a decent all-rounder on a tight budget then the Motorola Moto G55 5G should certainly be on your shortlist. The switch to an ultrawide rear camera and those faster charge times are certainly appealing. If you tend to push your phone then you might wish for a proper 8 GB of RAM, but in that case, you quite possibly have more expensive taste in phones anyway.

I don’t love annual iterative smartphone releases, and scheduling software support to end just as the following year’s model launches only feeds into an anti-consumer cycle. If it wasn’t for that tricky little wrinkle, I’d have happily continued to recommend the G54 5G as the best budget phone around. As things stand, however, the G54 5G is on its way out regardless of my feelings on the matter, and you can get an extra Android update with the G55 5G. Throw in slightly improved performance, a more comprehensive camera suite, superior battery life and faster charging, and this is far from a consolation prize. I may disapprove of the circumstances around it but the simple fact is that Motorola has once again claimed the best budget phone crown with the excellent Moto G55 5G.

At £200, the Motorola Moto G55 represents another terrific value proposition. With it, Motorola has captured the budget handset market with impressive gusto, with the Moto G04 and the Moto G85 retailing for £100 difference in either direction. To complicate matters, the Moto G85 is now old enough to be discounted to the same price. The G85 fares a little better in multitasking and has an arguably better display, but the G55 wins out on battery, speakers, and overall looks. It’s miles ahead of the competition if discounts aren’t taken into account, however. For most, the Moto G55 is the better bargain. It’s one of the best cheap phones around. It’s miles ahead of the TCL 40R 5G. If we’re to account for hot after-market deals, though, the value proposition of something like Nothing CMF Phone 1 can be hard to ignore.

Motorola has managed to deliver on its promise of delivering a decent Motorola Moto G55 smartphone that is attractive to gamers. Due to its great chipset, most games run flawlessly and even graphically demanding apps run decently. It also has a great design with premium leather materials. The display and the camera performance are also equally impressive. On top of all that, you will get a fantastic battery that charges pretty quickly. It also has 5G connectivity for when you need the best internet speeds. The list of pros keeps on coming. If the pricing was more competitive, it would have been a fantastic option in the budget mid-range category.
