If the Moto G73’s cameras were a little more effective, this would be a much simpler verdict. It doesn’t lose anything by dropping the 2MP macro camera from its setup, but what’s left doesn’t feel like it gets any better as a result, making it a fairly weak trade-off. Add to this the identical display and battery life, and there’s a little too much of the G62 in this recipe for my tastes, even if performance and fast charging are superior. If you want a cheap Motorola, the Moto G62 is still better value than this, currently priced at £200, but often available for even less. If your budget can stretch a little further, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is down to £275 at time of writing, and offers better performance and a gorgeous OLED screen, albeit at the expense of battery life. If stamina is more important, you can take a slight hit on the performance side and get the epic battery life of the Honor Magic 5 Lite, which is currently going for just £250.

The Moto G73 5G is just about all right for your day-to-day tasks and casual gaming. The long battery life is a blessing though. It also has two more pluses on its side - 5G connectivity and a clean UI. Of course, you could say that for most Motorola phones in the budget segment too. In effect, Moto G73 5G ends up compromising a good display, anda rich photography experience, especially in low-light situations and though the battery is good, it does suffer from slow charging. Therefore, if the price suits you and you are not too finicky about the camera, do not indulge much in gaming, want a clean UI experience, a decent performance for general tasks, a secure experience, and a 5G smartphone, then you can go for the Moto G73. However, you should check out the alternatives that are in the same segment including Redmi Note 12, Poco M5, and iQOO Z7.

Motorola has made respectable lower mid-range phone with the Moto G73 5G. If you tend to use your phone for web browsing, with some occasional gaming and video watching on the side, you will likely mostly enjoy it. But there are some things that cannot be overlooked, and that is the massive downgrade in display tech when you compare it to the Moto G72 from last year. Motorola did something similar with the Moto G53 which also launched recently, but at least there you could argue that the better display quality was sacrificed for higher refresh rate to make navigating the UI feel smoother. Not to mention the subpar camera experience, especially while shooting video. Suffice to say, the Moto G72 is not a bad phone per se, but it is not that great either.

The Moto G73 is an impressive phone which performs well in many areas. But Motorola’s own Edge 30 Neo only costs slightly more, yet represents a big performance upgrade. Compared to the G73, the Neo has a more powerful processor, better OLED display, much faster 68W charging and improved cameras. So, why should you buy the G73 instead? It has great battery life (despite relatively slow charging), a decent LCD screen and 256GB of storage, but there are no standout features here. If you’re thinking of buying a phone around this price point, it’s definitely worth considering alternatives before choosing the Moto G73. You might find something you like better for a very similar amount of money.

There’s one word I’ve kept coming back to throughout this review to describe the Moto G73 – reliable. Motorola’s latest budget Android smartphone offers a pretty decent suite of specs, features, and performance across the board. The camera isn’t anything to write home about, but it will work for casual snaps on the go. You can say the same for most other features on the G73, bringing us back to the word “reliable”. You know what to expect, and that’s exactly what you get. When all is said and done, you’re unlikely to be disappointed with the Moto G73 as a budget smartphone. It’s solid, if not too exciting, across the board.

Okay, it’s time to wrap up this review now. So is this smartphone a viable option in the sub-20K price bracket? I would say, yes. It has the best-in-class performance, its battery life is quite awesome, and even the cameras are pretty decent here. And how can I forget its clean stock Android experience with few Motorola-exclusive features? So yeah, the software is also a big win for me when it comes to Motorola phones. However, I do hope the company improves its software update policy since this thing will only get a year of platform updates. This means it’ll taste Android 14, and no more. Other than this, I don’t think Motorola should have compromised in terms of the display either. I am not just saying an OLED panel would’ve fixed everything, but the G73 could’ve certainly used a better and brighter IPS screen. Still, budget phones compromise in one way or the other, so if you can overlook all this, I think it is currently one of the best options under Rs. 20,000. Overall, the Moto G73 is a good choice for the sub-20K price range in India. Of course, its biggest highlight is its performance, but it also offers a well-rounded package in other areas. The only downside I feel is its display, which could be better. However, if you can overlook this, it's a great phone for the price.

The Motorola Moto G73 stands out by being one of the first phones on the market with the MediaTek Dimensity 930 chipset. If software experience is important to you, then the My UX flavour will impress – you’ll be hard-pressed to find anything like it at this price point. But the cameras are average at best for the Rs 18,999 price, both front and rear. And if AMOLED displays are crucial, you may want to explore other options on the market, such as the iQOO Z7 or even the older but more premium Moto G82 5G.

With the Moto G73 5G, Motorola has focussed mainly on performance and security. The software experience is quite smooth and the gaming experience is also quite good, but it isn't a big leap over what most smartphones at this price point already offer. Motorola could have done a lot more to make the Moto G73 5G stand out. Its design, despite being modern, is not exactly unique or different. Battery life is average, and the lack of an AMOLED display is disappointing. To add to that, camera performance is also inadequate, and Motorola is gradually losing its near-stock software advantage, which the brand had built as a selling point over the past decade. In short, it's hard to recommend the Moto G73 5G especially when the Moto G82 5G (Review) can be found for a similar price. It offers a camera with OIS and a larger battery, along with an AMOLED display, and is priced starting from Rs. 19,999. While I would recommend spending a bit more and getting a Realme 9 Pro+ 5G (Review) instead, there's also the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G (Review), which offers better value.

The Motorola Moto G73 is a great looking phone for all intents and purposes. You get a simple and sophisticated design, a dual rear camera, a lovely big display and some solid hardware features under the hood, such as the huge battery. We can't comment on its performance as yet, nor the camera capabilities, but based on our initial experience, Motorola is doing a great job of making sure the Moto G retains its crown as king of the budget smartphones. We will bring you a full review of the Moto G73 as soon as we have it in properly.

In the Rs 20,000 segment, Motorola Moto G73 5G offers a close-to-stock Android experience, more security and privacy features, and a reliable camera for night, ultra-wide, and macro photography. With its extra features like Moto secure, Family space, IP52 rating, and a great set of speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos, the Moto G73 5G is indeed a suitable device to keep it for yourself or to give it to your parents. However, do note that it doesn’t support 4K recording, shoots subpar video, lacks the darks of an AMOLED, and sometimes tends to get hot in heavy usage (while playing games). If these are the things, you can look past, then it’s a good new 5G handset that you can consider. You can also have a look at the newly launched IQOO Z7 5G and Poco X5 5G. The iQOO handset offers Dimensity 920, which is faster and gets you 4K video recording, but lacks an ultra-wide sensor, and the AMOLED screen on the phone is restricted to 90Hz. The Poco phone, on the other hand, offers Snapdragon 695, which performs similarly to Moto G73 5G’s Dimensity 930. However, it boots on older Android 12 OS and doesn’t have a stock-like feel due to MIUI theming.

Rs 18,999. That’s the Moto G73 price in India. For a similar outlay, you have the Redmi Note 12 5G (review), which was launched earlier this year and packs an AMOLED screen. The handset also offers a better battery life than the Motorola smartphone. However, the Moto G73 manages to trump the Redmi phone with its performance, speaker output, and the latest software, which is closer to stock. The handset also offers impressive photography in daylight, while the battery life is decent as well. All these things make the Moto G73 a reasonable buy.

We really liked the Motorola Moto G73. We can say that this is a mid-range, which is what it should be. Nice design, 120 Hz screen, decent performance, long battery life, great cameras without compromises (even in the dark, a separate plus for the wide-angle with autofocus), clean and well-optimized Android with useful Moto features, excellent storage capacities (8 and 256 GB), even support for fifth-generation networks. For the price, it’s a great deal! Are there any drawbacks to the new Moto G73? The display quality is still not up to par, Motorola has abandoned the use of more advanced OLED displays that were present in the G line in 2021 and 2022. The charging speed could be faster in 2023, but it’s not that critical.

With the new Motorola Moto G73, the company has attempted to provide users with a compelling 5G option with a couple of improvements sprinkled in over the Moto G62 – its predecessor. The MediaTek Dimensity 930 SoC shines in most of our tests, beating out its competition convincingly and the primary camera is far improved compared to the old 50 MP lens Moto used in the Moto G62 and Moto G42. The battery life is also impressive and Moto’s MyUX skin still manages to be one of the least bloatware-ridden skins on the market. However, there are definitely a few misses – be it the lacklustre IPS LCD display with low peak brightness or the mediocre low-light photos.

Unboxing Motorola's Moto G73 5G, a budget mid-range smartphone that serves up 50MP camera tech, gaming features, long battery life and a sub-£300 UK asking price. The Motorola Moto G73 5G phone doesn't offer OLED screen tech or the same silky smooth performance of some rivals, but it's a decent everyday blower still. Check out my reviews of the best budget mobiles in 2023 for more ideas! The Moto G73 has a dual camera setup, although that second lens is a simple ultra-wide snapper. That 50-meg primary camera sensor is fine if the lighting is good but you'll see blur and grain in more ambient light, and video maxes out at FHD. Highlights include Motorola's stock Android 13 experience, that surprisingly powerful stereo speaker setup and the 256GB storage. With microSD memory card support, no less! You also have a meaty 5000mAh battery, so the Moto G73 5G can last a full day of intense action. However, gamers won't be able to experience a fluid Genshin Impact frame rate, even on low detail settings. Call of Duty and PubG is about the level you should be aiming at, even with Motorola's dedicated gaming features slapped on the Moto G73. So are you tempted by this budget-friendly smartphone?

As for its cameras, this Moto packs in just two rear cameras. This includes a 50-megapixel primary camera which Motorola claims comes from last year's premium Edge 30 Pro, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide, which also works a macro camera and is also used for calculating depth when using the camera's Portrait mode. Selfies are handled by a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. Motorola has retained the Moto G62 5G's 5,000mAh battery capacity but has improved the charging speed by offering a 30W Type-C charger in the box. Does MediaTek's new Dimensity 930 SoC offer that big of a performance leap to justify the Moto G73 5G's pricing? Stay tuned for our detailed review, coming soon on Gadgets 360.

The Motorola Moto G73 does upgrade a lot of things compared to its predecessor, but at the same time, it misses that budget-banger alternative title that the previous generation offered. Although there is only a handful of smartphone that offers a clean Android UI experience, the Moto G73 is a decent option. It got a decent display, higher refresh rate, proper performance output, a long battery, and beautiful camera results. Overall, it got everything that any user would demand from mid-range phones. But we won’t deny that there are tons of other alternatives choice that offers better specs and features than this phone. We will recommend you check out the Realme 10 Pro in the meantime. Aside from this, we will only suggest you go with Moto G73 if you are getting some discount deals.
