Nvidia Tegra K1
La NVIDIA Tegra K1 (Tegra 5) es un SoC (System on a Chip) basado en ARM hecho especialmente para tablets y smartphones Android de gama alta. Sus principales características incluyen un ARM Cortex A15 de 5 núcleos (4+1) integrado, una tarjeta de video basada en Kepler con 192 núcleos CUDA, un controlador de memoria de dos canales de 64-bits (hasta 4 GB), codecs de video para codificar y decodificar hasta contenido 4k y dual ISP. Es producida en TSMC bajo un proceso HPM de 28nm para un rendimiento máximo mejorado (en contraste con el proceso HPL de 28nm del Tegra 4, que está optimizado para bajas fugas).
Más adelante en 2014, Nvidia introducirá una segunda versión del Tegra K1 con dos núcleos "Denver" de hasta 2,5 GHz. Similar a la "Cyclone" de Apple, Denver ya soporta 64-bits (ARMv8) y ha sido desarrollado por la propia Nvidia. Especialmente el rendimiento por núcleo debe estar significantemente por encima del modelo Cortex-A15.
