I am a OnePlus user so I won’t be biased here. OnePlus 8 Pro has got most of the things right if not all. It has wireless charging, NFC, a stunning display, and a powerful chipset under the hood. It doesn’t get many changes in terms of design though and the cameras aren’t that superb although that can be worked upon with software updates.

Finally, if you want to get the overall best premium phone from 2020, we recommend checking out the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. These days, you can find that phone for around the same price as you would have paid for a top-end OnePlus 8 Pro. That phone matches or exceeds most of the specs and features of the 8 Pro, with the notable exception of charging speeds (both wired and wireless). But if you want a big, powerful phone with a great camera system, the Note 20 Ultra won’t disappoint. OnePlus is all grown up. With the OnePlus 8 Pro, you get an unabashed flagship, with all the bells and whistles. Powerful specs, an amazing display, fast wireless charging, and water resistance make the OnePlus 8 Pro a great alternative to the Galaxy S20 Plus, and it's up to $300 cheaper.

Of course, I am not at all trying to say that the OnePlus 8 Pro is a bad phone. It most certainly is not. It has a long-lasting battery, a terrific display, and a software experience that’s near the top of its class. However, it also has a nerfed camera system, an unwieldy design, and a high probability of slow/infrequent software updates as the months go on. Unless you’re paying for it at a steep discount, there is no reason to buy this phone in 2021 when the OnePlus 9 Pro exists on the shelf right next to it.

The OnePlus 8 Pro put in a strong performance for display. In many regards, it really stood out against its competitors, especially in reproducing accurate colors. It also made a strong impression for its readability in direct sunlight, a rarity among all devices. For users, smooth swiping and accuracy in the gallery app and while web browsing is a big plus. There are areas for improvement, especially around video performance, which brought down its overall score. Screen uniformity for both brightness and color could also be improved. The OnePlus 8 Pro starts at Rs 54,999, and if the last couple of years have been any indication, it’s that people are willing to shell out this kind of money for a OnePlus device. The 8 Pro’s audio performance bears a certain resemblance to that of the 7 Pro, especially in Playback, where it differs from the predecessor’s sub-scores by one point at the most. When it comes to recording audio, however, the 8 Pro shows a bit more independence from its older brother… but not always for the best. While the microphones deliver realistic and intelligible midrange frequencies and benefit from a better control of undesirable artifacts, the Volume sub-score is much lower due to aggressive high-end distortions. Background recordings sound as unnatural as they did with the previous model. In short, it seems OnePlus focused all its efforts on imaging, but brought too few evolutions to its flagship’s sound abilities.

The OnePlus 8 Pro is the biggest, meanest, and best smartphone OnePlus has put out thus far. At least that’s what it aims to be. It features a fantastic set of cameras, a big, gorgeous, 120 Hz AMOLED screen, the fastest possible hardware on an Android phone, and an impressive battery. But do you need to spend $900 for it, when the OnePlus 8 delivers a similar experience for $700? Well, the 8 Pro’s camera is definitely an improvement over its cheaper sibling, but it also has a bunch of quirks that you may or may not like. The Pro is slightly bigger, it’s noticeably heavier, and its speakers are virtually the same. Indeed, I’d say that if you don’t insist on that slight camera upgrade, you can save yourself $200.

The OnePlus 8 Pro is a lovely device. I would go so far as to say that it's the best smartphone on the market right now. In this reviewer's opinion, the iPhone 11 series and Pixel 4 series are non-starters without a fingerprint sensor or a software update to make facial recognition work with a mask on. Samsung's Galaxy S20 series was something that I didn't care for on account of poor camera software and, well, poor software overall. Huawei's P40 Pro is awesome, but unfortunately, you can't buy it in the U.S.

While the OnePlus 8 Pro is by far the best smartphone the company has ever built, it’s also the least compelling device we’ve seen from them since the OnePlus X. There’s nothing fundamentally wrong with the phone, it’s a flagship device with specs and pricing to match what the competition has to offer. But the company has lost sight of the fact that many people flocked to the brand simply because they didn’t want to pay the premiums that other brands were charging. Adding insult to injury is the recent revelation that the phones are $100 to $150 cheaper in markets like India and China.

Lisa Gade reviews the OnePlus 8 Pro, the company’s first full-out flagship Android smartphone. The phone is sold unlocked and supports most carriers worldwide. It runs Android 10 with OxygenOS on the Snapdragon 865 with your choice of 8 or 12GB RAM and 128 or 256GB storage. It has a superb 6.78” 120Hz OLED display, four rear cameras (main, ultrawide, tele and color filter), and is IP68 water resistant. The phone comes with a 30 watt 30T Warp Charge charger and is compatible with their 30 watt Qi Warp Charge wireless charger. The OnePlus 8 Pro has low and mid-band 5G (carrier compatibility covered in this video).

Of the 2 new flagship telephones from Chinese phone-maker OnePlus, the OnePlus 8 Pro is the higher-end gadget. In addition to 5G, which each telephones have, it has IP certification for water resistance, a complete of 4 cameras — one at 48 megapixels — and an even bigger, 120Hz show. Available beginning April 22, it is also pricier at $899 (£799) for 128GB storage and $999 (£899) for 256GB. (Australian costs aren’t but obtainable, however £799 converts to roughly AU$1,570.) The OnePlus 8 begins at $699 (£599).

As with past generations of OnePlus devices, the OnePlus 8 Pro and 8 have super-fast charging, branded as Warp Charging. From a completely drained battery, 15 minutes of charging juiced the phone up to 32%, which is impressive. A half hour yielded 62% and by an hour the phone was at 95% power. When I used the OnePlus' new wireless charger, the phone charged at about the same rate.

The OnePlus 8 Pro is a talented phone with every feature you could reasonably expect for a phone of its price. Its screen is lovely, and new wireless charging support rounds off an impressive, flagship-worthy spec sheet. Its sound quality isn’t quite as good as some of its rivals, though, and it is a touch below Samsung standards in camera and screen performance too. For the first time, these minor deficiencies cannot be masked by a lower price tag.

The OnePlus 8 Pro is a proper flagship phone. No more cutting corners. No more 'flagship killer' underdog mantra. OnePlus is now officially mixing it with the biggest names in mobile. It means the 8 Pro is also its most expensive handset to date, but there's plenty of bang for your buck to justify the cost - plus it's still a shade cheaper than rival Samsung, Apple and Huawei smartphones.

Every year since 2014, OnePlus has released a new smartphone, and nearly every year it’s raised the price. That in turn has caused reviewers like me to ask, “is it worth the extra money?” … and for the past six years, the answer, time and again, has been yes. This is different. To be clear, I’m not saying the OnePlus 8 Pro doesn’t earn its asking price, which is $899. And we should remember that it’s not the first OnePlus to hit this threshold either: the McLaren edition of last year’s 7T Pro was priced the same. But if we ignore special edition phones and directly compare, generation to generation, what’s available here in the States … the OnePlus 8 Pro is a $230 jump from last year’s 7 Pro. That’s a lot. To some it’s evidence of OnePlus losing touch with its core values, sacrificing its status as smartphone value hero and finally "becoming the villain." Does this argument hold up, or is OnePlus finally just coming into its own? Find out in the MrMobile OnePlus 8 Pro Review!

And this 'professional' phone is actually using a 'professional' grade screen that professionals actually use for their profession. I'm impressed.

The OnePlus 8 Pro doesn't lean on gimmicks the way other 2020 flagship phones do, so it might not seem as immediately interesting. Don't be fooled, though: Between its excellent performance, well-thought-out software and one of the best smartphone screens we've ever seen, the OnePlus 8 Pro is a fantastic smartphone that's well worth the price of admission. Don't assume everything is perfect here -- some of the company's camera choices are questionable and a slightly bigger battery would've gone a long way. Even so, the 8 Pro stacks up surprisingly well against the best the industry has to offer, and is well on its way to becoming a fan-favorite.

OnePlus’s first attempt at a fully featured flagship presses all the right buttons, and there really isn’t anything missing here. The lack of a fancy telephoto camera might disappoint some, but 30W wireless charging and an IP68 rating are welcome OnePlus firsts. The OnePlus 8 Pro may not be perfect, but there’s something here for everyone, and little that’s lacking. You’ll have to look elsewhere if you like your phones compact, but otherwise right now this is the best phone you can buy at this price - and still better than several that cost more.

If you're in a place where you think you won't get 5G anytime soon, or you're on T-Mobile and don't feel you need the S20 line's somewhat more advanced camera features (such as 8K recording), this is a better value than the Samsung Galaxy S20+ or the LG V60.

Qualcomm Adreno 650:
