Me quedo con la espinita de saber de sobra que puede rendir aún mejor si se aflojasen un par de marchas en el procesado pero es que, incluso así, sigue siendo un firme candidato a mejor teléfono fotográfico de 2024.

I was excited when I heard the Oppo Find X8 Pro was getting a wider release than the Find X6 Pro, as that phone was one of my favourites of the last couple of years. However, while the Find X8 Pro is excellent, the decision to go with four lenses rather than keep the large sensor for the main lens is a disappointing one for me. It keeps the Find X8 Pro back from greatness, which is a shame. In essence I’ve been spoiled by seeing what is possible, and I don’t want to go back now. Overall, it’s a very well performing device, but it’s reasonably similar to others of its type. The four lenses are all good, but the second of the zoom lenses isn’t amazing, and therefore doesn’t make up for reducing image quality elsewhere – yes I’m complaining about the one-inch sensor being missing, again.

What we have in the Oppo Find X8 Pro is a great all-rounded flagship smartphone. It takes great photos, comes with good usability features, and ColorOS is really polished, even coming with some AI smarts. To top it all off, this smartphone comes with intuitive AI integrations for different tasks too. It might be crazy, but I think that the only thing I don’t like about the device is the bloatware. Just because Oppo is choosing to stay away from a brightness competition, doesn't mean you'll be strapped for nits, and unless you absolutely must game above 60fps, you'll be perfectly fine with a Find. The camera system has a few imperfections in our experience, but you can expect that from the Pro when there's an Ultra on the way. Those relatively minor things aside, the Find X8 Pro is a thoroughly competent all-round flagship smartphone. The super powerful chipset is about as good as they come, the battery life is towards the top of the class, the newly-standard next-level water sealing brings extra peace of mind, the camera key can't hurt.

It is that time of the year. 2024 is sliding towards its end and 2025 is on the horizon. Like everything new, it is also a time for next-generation smartphones to arrive. The Oppo Find X8 and the Find X8 Pro are among the first of this new generation to arrive in India. These are flagship phones with flagship, and next-gen, hardware. They are setting the tone for the upcoming year. Of course, for phone users this is all moot. What matters to them is this: Are the Find X8 and the Find X8 Pro worth buying? Given their performance, cameras and overall quality of hardware, the Find X8 sure seems like a phone worth its price. Yes, there are the OnePlus and Apples and Samsungs out in the market but the Find X8 offers enough to be an excellent option for you. The Find X8 Pro, meanwhile, seems to be on pricier side compared to what it offers.

The OPPO Find X8 Pro checks almost all the boxes you’d expect from a flagship smartphone. The phone offers a stunning display, reliable cameras, and long battery life – all the three important qualities that matter to most customers. The Dimensity 9400 SoC onboard also provides a smooth and snappy performance. As mentioned, its large footprint may not appeal to all customers, and in that case, the Google Pixel 9 Pro is a good option to consider, mainly for the cameras and clean Android UI. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is another decent alternative, which might get additional deals and offers in the coming weeks. At present, the OPPO Find X8 Pro holds a slight edge over rivals like Xiaomi and Vivo thanks to its productivity and camera-linked AI features. It’s an easy recommendation for photography enthusiasts, though it will be interesting to see how OPPO navigates the competition as other OEMs gear up for the next phase of their flagship offerings.

After spending a week with the Oppo Find X8 Pro, I find myself with very few complaints. This phone excels in every metric. It’s powerful, good-looking, has amazing cameras and plenty of software perks too. As a photography enthusiast, who values camera performance over everything else, I’d pick this over the best from Samsung, Apple or Google. No contest. The competition from brands like Vivo and Xiaomi is fierce, but their best camera phones aren’t currently available in the UK. If we’re just talking about phones you can buy locally, the Find X8 Pro is almost certainly the best for photography. I’d happily put up with more heft if it means larger sensors, and I’ve got my fingers crossed that there’s an X8 Ultra on the horizon. For now, though, this is more than good enough.

These flagship smartphones usually boasted the best camera tech around and this quad 50MP Hasselblad setup is certainly beefy. You've got dual periscope zoom lenses, like the Samsung S24 Ultra, plus impressive 4K 60FPS video support. I'll be testing the Oppo Find X8 Pro's photo smarts in full for that review! Likewise, I can't comment on the battery life or gaming performance just yet. However, Mediatek's Dimensity 9400 runs the show, while the Oppo Find X8 Pro also serves up a near 6000mAh battery with 80W charging. So it's certainly competitive vs the Pixel 9 Pro XL and other major rivals. ColorOS 15 is a blinder too, with an almost identical setup to OxygenOS 15 which I reviewed a couple of weeks back. You can expect some genuinely useful AI features and a slick, smooth experience here on the Oppo Find X8 Pro.

ARM Immortalis-G925 MC12: Una rápida GPU integrada para procesadores ARM que cuenta con trazado de rayos por hardware, superresolución de precisión y otras tecnologías modernas. Se prevé que sea casi tan rápida como la Qualcomm Adreno 830.

Estas tarjetas también deben ser capaces de aguantar todos los juegos actuales, pero  la mayoría de ellos en configuraciones de detalles medios y bajos y con bajas resoluciones. Juegos más antiguos, o menos exigentes todavía pueden ser jugados con buena calidad de gráficos.

Dimensity 9400: El último SoC insignia de la compañía taiwanesa para teléfonos y tabletas premium Android, a partir de noviembre de 2024. Incorpora un núcleo Cortex-X925 que funciona hasta a 3,62 GHz junto con 3 núcleos Cortex-X4 (hasta 3,25 GHz) y 4 núcleos Cortex-A720 (hasta 2 GHz). La Immortalis-G925 MP12 hace las veces de GPU integrada; es casi tan rápida como la Qualcomm Adreno 830. También está la NPU MediaTek 890 de 8ª generación con un núcleo "de rendimiento" y otro "flexible", así como 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth y navegación por satélite. El chip ofrece ~9000 puntos Geekbench 6.3 Multi, lo que lo hace unos puntos porcentuales más rápido que el Apple A18 Pro y alrededor de un 20% más rápido que el Dimensity 9300.
