Análisis para el Oppo Reno5 Pro
Origen: DxOMark EN→ES
The Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G is located just below the Reno5 Pro+ 5G in the Oppo smartphone lineup and comes with a similar feature set. Main hardware differences are the Mediatek MT6889Z Dimensity chipset instead of the Snapdragon 865 in the Plus model and the lack of a tele module in the main camera. But both models use the same 6.55-inch AMOLED display with 1080- x 2400-pixel resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate.

In my time with the Oppo Reno 5 Pro, there weren’t too many things that “blew me away”, and I think that’s the point of this phone. It features 5G support if it’s available through your network, and offers just a solid overall experience. But what this made me realize is that I want to use this phone on a daily basis, but sadly, can’t due to constraints with my current carrier. The US needs more phone competition, as Samsung, OnePlus, and Apple continue to dominate the market share and the headlines. If we could get something like the Reno 5 Pro into carriers here in the States, it would definitely turn some heads.

A power boost from the new chipset, fast charging, a large screen, and quad rear camera refreshes the Reno5 Pro 5G nicely for the 2021 market. Its main camera provides pretty good exposure, with wide dynamic range in fair to good conditions, and autofocus is accurate if a little slow. Low contrast and inaccurate color are concerns, however, and instabilities with exposure and noise, in particular, mean you don’t always get the best results the camera is capable of. Autofocus, exposure, and color as you zoom in are consistent, but the level of detail is low on zoom shots — as it is in all photos.

At a price of Rs. 35,990, the OPPO Reno5 Pro 5G has some strong points – the display, sleek design, Mediatek Dimensity 1000+, and a 65W Super-fast charging. For those who are concerned about the Mediatek Dimensity 1000+, we didn’t face any problem so far. However, we have to wait and see how it works in the long term and the support is gets in terms of updates.

In terms of security, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner on top of facial recognition software. Though these days, facial recognition has been displaced by the masks everyone wears, which disables the feature. Luckily, both fingerprint and facial recognition work without a hitch.

While the Reno 4 Pro found itself in the doldrums soon after launch given its odd pricing (and the existence of the OnePlus Nord) the Reno 5 Pro 5G has certainly done better. It's managed to carve out its own niche in the budget flagship segment (Rs 35,000-45,000) and with that, it's easy to recommend given that it also looks stunning.

The Reno 5 Pro 5G absolutely nails the basics: you get a stunning 90Hz AMOLED screen, a gorgeous design with a slim 7.6mm chassis, reliable battery life with 65W fast charging, and cameras that take great photos. Combine that with a clean interface that runs Android 11 out of the box, and you get a great overall package in the mid-range segment.

Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G brings the next generation 5G connectivity even though it may not make sense at this point. The Dimensity 1000+ chipset is naturally powerful, but it sometimes bogs it down. The cameras work well, the display is gorgeous, and the battery life is excellent. It is a serious upgrade performance-wise over the Reno 4 Pro, but considering the market, it has stiff competition from the OnePlus Nord for much less. Moreover, if you spend a little more, you can get the OnePlus 8 a better phone. But for Rs 35,990, the Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G comes across as a beautiful and capable phone.

As good as the Oppo Reno 4 Pro was, its underpowered SoC and high price made it really hard to recommend. Thankfully, Oppo has addressed the performance aspect with the new Reno 5 Pro 5G. MediaTek's current flagship 5G SoC might not be able to outclass Qualcomm's top-end chip (and we're not even talking about the Snapdragon 888 coming in phones this year) but it is enough to deliver smooth performance in heavy games, and is quite power efficient. Considering it costs about the same as the Reno 4 Pro at Rs. 35,990, makes the new Reno 5 Pro 5G better value than its predecessor.

Oppo might finally be onto something here. The company isn't famous for its mid-range phones mainly because of their relatively high prices. But the Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G isn't too far from the competition. In fact, you can even make a case for it when compared to the OnePlus Nord or the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro 5G. Oppo's contender slots in perfectly between the two in India, asking INR 35,000 (400 euro) in return.

The Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G is the company's latest smartphone, packing some very impressive features on paper. this includes things like an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC, a 64MP primary camera alongside three others and of course, that gorgeous, fingerprint-resistant finish on the back. In our testing, the Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G managed to clock very impressive numbers, going right up against the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 powered devices. The camera stack offers excellent photo output from the main camera, while the macro lens leaves a little to be desired.

Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G seems to be an allrounder package. The camera is a bit on the average side which might get better with updates but the performance is trouble-free.

At Rs 35,990, the OPPO Reno 5 Pro 5G is an expensive midrange smartphone. It, however, brings meaningful upgrades that make it better than predecessor and peers. The Reno 5 Pro 5G is a complete package with a practical design, premium two-side curved AMOLED screen of 90Hz refresh rate, competent cameras and industry-leading fast-charge solution. There is no reason to not like the Reno 5 Pro 5G. However, you might like to compare it with the Xiaomi Mi 10i (review) and OnePlus Nord (review) before finalising the pick.
