Like the classic Reno 8 phone, you are getting impressive hardware support with 5G connectivity in the Oppo Reno 8 Lite smartphone. But still, the overall expectation with this phone might feel a bit underwhelming due to a few reasons. It doesn’t have the latest Android update nor does the company information about future updates schemes, and the camera quality is average. Still, the phone can’t be compared to the rest of the competitive smartphones available in the market. No doubt the company wants to cut corners to launch the mid-range 5g phone, but the Reno 8 lite smartphone will end up being ignored in the mid-range segment. After all, if you are looking for an alternative option definitely check out the Vivo iQOO U5e smartphone which comes with the latest OS, decent processing chipset, and huge battery backup on a low budget.

While the Oppo Reno8 Pro 5G still has the design edge, it simply can’t keep up to the Oppo Reno10 Pro+ 5G in terms of performance, while also lagging in battery life and display resolution. But ultimately, it’s the camera system on the Oppo Reno10 Pro+ 5G that’s the biggest reason to upgrade, with the 3x optical zoom on portrait mode a killer feature. Typically, the Reno8 retails in the region of R18 500, with the Reno10 jumping to R24 000. If you can spare the extra bucks, the Reno10 is the one.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro Plus offers a good set of features in the hardware and software department so that you won’t be disappointed by the overall results whether it’s casual gaming or performance-centric work. Everything is possible with this phone chipset. But still, we won’t recommend this phone to hardcore gamers. Instead of this, you can check out the latest Asus RoG Phone 6 or RoG Phone 6 Pro. Both of them are impeccable choices in the gaming segment, while on the other hand, if you are looking for a phone with better camera quality the ZTE nubia Z40S Pro is not a bad deal. Lastly, it’s up to your requirement, so choose your phone wisely.

All of that perks are quite amazing and tempting to not underlook. But if you are looking for a value-for-money deal, we suggest you go with the starting variant. Though the price differs from country to country, this deal is worth your money. Aside from this, there are other options in the same price range that you can check out. The Realme 9 Pro Plus is an excellent choice that provides a good set of specs and features, which makes this phone an exciting deal. As we noted in our review of the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G when it first launched, this phone is fairly capable. One thing to keep in mind is that there are no other channels through which you can purchase this limited edition smartphone; it is only available through Flipkart. Considering that the Oppo Reno 8 Pro House of The Dragon Limited Edition retails for the same price as the standard edition, I don't think fans of the show should hesitate to choose it over the vanilla version. However, I was a little disappointed to see no cosmetic changes given to the phone itself or even UI customisations, as we've seen in the past from other manufacturers. Like the Reno 8 Pro, the Reno 8 holds its own as solid mid-range phone. It has a stunning design, capable performance, a user-friendly OS, speedy charging and an extremely durable battery life. The main camera is also largely impressive – though the other lenses aren’t anything to shout about. Whilst there are some notable downgrades from the Pro variant of this phone – notably the processor, the refresh rate, the camera software and the IP rating, the £419 price tag is much better situated in the mid-range market. It is a true gem, and a worthy rival to other phones from OnePlus and Google.

The Oppo Reno8 5G lags behind some of the competition in its class. However, its performance is somewhat unbalanced, with a much better performance in Recording than for playback, so depending on your needs it might still be an option to consider. In Playback the device performs on a similar level in the movie and music use cases but does slightly better for gaming. It offers decent distance rendition and maximum volume but a single mono speaker means it’s sub-par for Spatial attributes. Dynamic and Timbre also leave room for improvement. A narrow tonal spectrum is very much focused on the midrange. Strong volume fluctuations at low volume settings can result in a very frustrating loss of information and you have to be careful not to block the only speaker with your hands while holding the phone. The Oppo does much better as a Recording device. It performs best when recording selfie videos and memos but also does a decent job with the main camera and used to record meetings. Recordings benefit from a good tonal balance across all apps as well as excellent wideness when recording main camera video and memos.

The Oppo Reno8 5G display was overall very readable in various conditions, except under sunlight, and was quite good when it came to touch performance. Despite the screen’s lack of brightness in outdoor conditions, when the device was under challenging sunlight conditions, dark tones were automatically enhanced, allowing for better readability. This difference in screen readability was also quite significant when compared with the readability of the Pro version of the phone, which struggled in the sunlight. The Oppo Reno8 5G performed very well in the video game use case, thanks to the display’s smoothness, touch accuracy, detail level, and aliasing management. Where the Oppo Reno8 5G display really fell short was in videos. The display’s low video brightness and the overly dark tones was quite distracting that it interfered with watching movies and videos comfortably.

The OPPO Reno8 hits it out of the park in this initial review. It has everything we need in a modern smartphone and is a complete package. Meanwhile, the OPPO Reno8 Z has too much in common with its predecessor for us to formulate any new opinions. While it remains to be a decent phone and a headphone jack is always a welcome inclusion, the 60Hz display might just be its achilles’ heel.

For its asking price of Rs 29,999, the OPPO Reno8 5G could have done better in the performance department. In fact, when pit against some of its competitors including the iQOO Neo 6 5G (review), the Redmi K50i (review), and the POCO F4 5G (review), OPPO’s latest struggles to make its mark in both, synthetic and real-world tests. That being said, none of the competitors looks as good as the OPPO Reno8 5G. The handset’s design is something to write home about, while its 80W SuperVooc charging solution offers an amazingly fast wired charging speed. The 90Hz AMOLED screen and the camera setup add to the overall appeal, making the OPPO Reno8 5G a worthwhile option to consider in the segment.

It offers good performance that's on par with others in the segment and has decent cameras for the price. ColorOS has good features but the amount of preinstalled bloatware could get annoying to someone who prefers a clean Android experience. The lack of OIS also does adversely affect camera performance, especially when shooting photos in low light. Given the amount of smartphones that have launched in this price range in the past year, the Reno 8 5G has its work cut out. The OnePlus Nord 2T 5G (Review) is the closest alternative and it is nearly identical to the Reno 8 5G in terms of hardware. The Motorola Edge 30 (Review) is priced similarly and focuses on a slim design while offering a 144Hz refresh rate display and clean near-stock Android. The Mi 11X 5G (Review) is also worth considering for anyone purely looking for good performance at this price.

The OPPO Reno8 5G offers a promising CPU – the Dimensity 1300 is quite faster in the ₹25K to ₹30K price segment leaving a bunch of phones behind in terms of performance. The Sony cameras are extremely reliable and fulfill your low-light and selfie needs. And the best thing about it is the stunning 80W SuperVOOC fast charger which has the ability to charge your phone a lot faster, it takes about 11 minutes to charge up to 50%. Aside from these, the 90 Hz AMOLED display is good, there are loads of ColorOS 12.1 features and a good-looking design. For users who are looking for performance, reliable cameras, and super fast charging, you can’t go wrong with the OPPO Reno8 5G, the smartphone is recommended for users with this budget.

The Oppo Reno 5G seems to have everything one would expect from a mid-range smartphone. There's the capable processor, a fast charging system and capable cameras, but Oppo hasn't really addressed the shortcomings of the previous model. There's still no official IP rating, no stereo speakers and the phone's body is still made out of polycarbonate, unlike the Reno 6 5G (Review). How does it stack up against the similarly priced and spec'ed OnePlus Nord 2T 5G (Review), and is it unique enough to take on similarly priced devices such as the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G (Review) or the iQoo Neo 6 (Review)? Find out in our detailed review, coming soon on Gadgets 360.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro hasn’t done itself any favours being priced so close to the flagship competition, but when you dig down into the figures, it’s actually impressive how well it stacks up to the more expensive Find X5. Performance is on par and both phones benefit from the 80W fast charging, helping to make up for the Reno 8 Pro’s slightly inferior battery life. The Find X5 does have a couple of advantages, of course, including wireless charging and a telephoto lens, but if you’re happy to forgo these for the sake of saving over £100, the Reno 8 Pro presents a strong argument for (slightly) undercutting the flagship market.

The Oppo Reno8 Pro proves that you don’t necessarily need to buy a flagship smartphone to get a decent camera. Its main camera in particular delivers good results across a range of shooting conditions, while the special modes such as Portrait, Night and Panorama all work very well. If you mainly want your smartphone to be a dependable point-and-shoot for posting snaps and video clips to social media, it’ll do the job perfectly well at a relatively palatable price point. If you’re looking to buy an Android phone in this price bracket, the Reno8 Pro counts as a viable alternative to the Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 7. I suspect most people will consider it to be more attractively designed, although its camera system perhaps isn’t quite as good overall. Oppo Reno 8 Pro street photography sample image. Not surprisingly, though, if you’re prepared to fork out almost twice the money for a flagship device such as the OPPO Find X5 Pro, you’ll get something that’s a whole lot better. In comparison, the Reno8 Pro has a lower-quality ultra-wide camera and no telephoto lens at all, with a pointless macro camera in its place. It can’t record DNG raw files either, but with all the multi-shot computational wizardry that’s routinely used by smartphone cameras, I’m not convinced this is a major drawback. Overall, though, it’s very much a case of you get what you pay for.

The Reno8 Pro is made for content creators who want a flagship-like camera performance AND also desire a phone that is stylish and a sure trendsetter. The exaggerated camera module does deliver the goods with the MariSilicon X chip maximizing the camera hardware of the Reno8 Pro. Despite being an excellent performer as a content creator device, we still wished OPPO gave meaningful upgrades to the ultra-wide-angle camera. The Reno8 Pro may have arrived late in the Philippines, but its overall performance shows that it is still an upper mid-range phone that’s worth considering.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro smartphone carries a lot of impressive specs, whether it be the display, 5G connectivity, powerful chipset, high refresh rate, or fast charging. The device has apt internal storage, a robust battery capacity, and a responsive under-display fingerprint scanner. The device excelled in all the departments except the camera, which is the major downside of the phone. The camera is not outdated, but it does not meet your expectations for a photogenic experience. If the camera is not your priority, then you can go with this smartphone. For a better photography experience, you can check alternatives such as the Vivo X90 smartphone which offer you a way better deal in terms of camera. For any other requirement, Reno 8 Pro is a reliable option to go with. Anyways, the final decision is up to you and your requirement.

There’s truly a lot to like about the Reno8 Pro, including a sleek and stylish design (not to mention the on-point Glazed Green colour option), the 80W SUPERVOOC quick charge option, decent camera, gorgeous screen and overall strong specs. It’s difficult to find much wrong with the phone, which makes me believe that Oppo is on to a winner with this one. Oppo puts the price of the Reno8 Pro at just below R20k, although we found it retailing for R18 399, which is just below that of the Samsung Galaxy S22+, and it's also less in contract price.

For around 599 GBP or 470 Euros, it’s clearly meant to take on rivals like the Google Pixel 7 and the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, to name a few. At this price point, it comes with all the right ingredients that make up a competent budget flagship phone, like a vibrant display, premium design, capable cameras, and overall good performance. On the other hand, it does come with a heavily-skinned version of Android, which may or may not be to your liking, and the lack of wireless charging might be an issue for some. But if you’re after one of the best mid-rangers that Oppo has in its line-up, then there’s little reservation when it comes to getting the Reno 8 Pro.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G delivers an overall decent performance for its class. In Playback it is equally suited to listening to music, watching movies and gaming, thanks to decent dynamic with good bass precision at nominal volume and louder, nice midrange, and good upper bass presence. The speakers also render a fairly wide sound scene and allow for pinpointing specific sound sources in that scene. On the downside, the tonal balance focuses a touch too much on the high-midrange, slightly neglecting the low-end. Our testers also found the right speaker to be very easily blocked, so be careful where you place your finger when holding the phone. In the Recording department the Oppo performs on a similar but slightly higher level. It’s best for recording meetings and voice memos but can also be a useful tool when capturing concerts or family events, thanks to good wind noise management and dynamics. Tonal balance sounds a little muffled, though and in both selfie and main camera video recordings wideness and localizability of sound sources in the stereo scene could be better.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro offers near flagship-level performance, a sleek design and speedy charging, making it a tempting choice. The main 50Mp camera performs extremely well, but it is a pity that the secondary cameras don’t match that standard. In addition, the short security update promise mean that customers will be less likely to hold onto this device for years to come, and there is fierce competition from rivals when it comes to price. Regardless, Oppo has once again delivered a reliable mid-ranger.

With its bold styling, ample storage and promising main camera, there’s a lot to love about the Reno 8 Pro. Fans of flat screens should really appreciate it, its design is standout (particularly in green), and you get a huge amount of storage for the price. The main competition is the Pixel 6, which has less storage but offers wireless charging and an IP rating for the same amount of cash. You can also get some of its missing features in cheaper phones – the Pixel 6a is water resistant, while the Nothing Phone (1) packs wireless charging and a superior secondary camera. Both those phones are £399. Still, for the £599 asking price, the Reno 8 Pro does deliver a premium experience in most areas, and will be perfect for anyone who needs loads of room for their apps, files and photos, an expansive screen to watch on and some very nippy charging.

You'll get solid performance which means even heavier phone users will get on well with it, the camera takes decent shots in the right lighting and the screen is both bright and sharp enough for most types of content. One thing that will really wow you, though, is the battery life which will last you two days at a time and when it does need juice it'll take just over half an hour to take it from flat to full. The biggest concern with the Oppo Reno8 Pro is whether or not it has priced itself out of the mid-range market. I won’t know the answer for sure until I’ve run it through the Expert Reviews testing gauntlet, but my first impression is that it might just be able to forge a niche for itself without cannibalising the Find X5. Performance should be able to go toe-to-toe with pricier competitors, the battery life is decent and made all the more so by the lightning-quick 80W fast charging, and the main and selfie cameras are fantastic – even if the supplementary ultrawide and macro lenses are the sort of filler you’d expect on a phone half this price. It’s too early to call it officially, but the Oppo Reno8 Pro is definitely one to keep your eye on.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro continues the BBK brand’s tradition of offering standout designs at a mid-range price. But it’s more than just a feast for the eyes, packing plenty of power, respectable battery life, fast charging, and a capable main camera. Unfortunately, the phone has a few drawbacks that really shouldn’t be expected if you’re paying £600 on a smartphone. Wireless charging would be nice, even if some devices in this price bracket don’t have it. But IP67-68 water resistance has quietly become a fixture in this price segment while some cheaper mid-rangers also pack the option these days. Splash resistance just doesn’t cut it anymore when you’re frankly paying flagship money for a smartphone. Likewise, the low-effort secondary cameras and a middling update pledge are also major disappointments for the amount of cash you’re paying. These downsides are also galling in light of the fact that the Reno 8 Pro is actually more expensive than its already-expensive predecessor. Unfortunately for Oppo, the competition is also stronger than ever.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro costs a little less than the OnePlus 10T, and the primary difference between them is the OnePlus phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and slightly faster charging. While the Snapdragon chip in the OnePlus is undeniably excellent, I’ve had no problem with the MediaTek 8100+ here, and unless you’re set on playing intensive games for hours, I doubt most will notice much difference day-to-day. If your only choice is between the Reno 8 Pro and the OnePlus 10T, then the Oppo phone is the one to buy. It’s a little cheaper, the materials used are far higher quality, the design is prettier, it charges almost as fast, and the software is basically the same. The difference is the processor, and considering the rest of the OnePlus 10T isn’t as desirable as the Reno 8 Pro, it’s not really worth it. Expand your choices further, and the even cheaper Nothing Phone 1 should be considered along with the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G. In the U.S., the new Motorola Edge (2022) is good value and has a MediaTek processor with a mmWave 5G connection for longevity.

Alright, we have now come to the end of this review and with everything I have discussed so far, the Reno 8 Pro certainly comes off as a balanced premium midrange phone. From its performance to design, display, camera, and battery, there is very little to complain about this phone. Yes, there are certainly a few things that OPPO could have done better, but those are not something that will massively ruin your smartphone experience. Still and all, I think it would have been better if OPPO had launched a lower 8+128GB variant of this phone too. It is currently only available in the 12+256GB option, which is, more than many people might need. Had the company done that, the price of the Reno 8 Pro might have dropped to someting cheaper have been a sweet deal. At 46,000 Indian Rupees, the Reno 8 Pro feels like a slightly pricey offering though. So I would suggest you wait and look for bank discounts or offline offers before buying this phone.

I began this review by saying that the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G is a good smartphone and trumps rivals in some areas. In terms of design, I find it the best-looking smartphone in this range. It also offers a good battery backup and 80W fast charging support, which is better than most rivals in the segment. In terms of cameras, the phone can capture sharp videos and still photos, and the MariSilcon X chip does make a difference to a certain extent, but the Google Pixel 6a detects skin tones much better. If your priority is selfies, you can go for the latter. However, the Pixel 6a comes with only a 60Hz 6.1-inch display, so do keep that in mind. If your priority is a clean Android interface, you can also look at the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered Motorola Edge 30 Pro apart from the Google Pixel 6a, though both phones offer up to 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM.

The OPPO Reno 8 Pro has a list price of €550 in the markets it is currently available. For the money, you are getting a phone with a unique design and a stellar display. Besides this, you also get excellent performance, good battery life, and fairly capable cameras. There are a few downsides though. These include no IP rating and a relatively high price. If you can get this on a deal for about €400-€450, I think it is an excellent buy. Otherwise, you may want to look at some options from Realme, OnePlus Nord series, or Xiaomi.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro is a stellar device, no doubt. But, it doesn’t deliver what it promises. What it promises is a reliable camera setup across the board, however, all the rear cameras have significant weaknesses making some lower or similarly-priced competitors more appealing. Also, ColorOS is loaded with bloatware which takes away slightly from its premium feel. However, the phone is an absolute powerhouse with the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max SoC packing a punch no matter what’s thrown at it.

In terms of an overall offering, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro mostly delivers what it promises. The design stands out, the performance is reliable and the cameras are adequate. The price? At Rs 45,999, Oppo Reno 8 Pro faces enormous competition as this a segment where almost every other brand has a solid offering. The Reno 8 Pro is indeed not cheap and as always there are alternatives to every phone. If you want a similar set of features at a lower price, then there are couple of other options also worth looking at. If looks are what matters to you then the Reno 8 Pro is for you. You not only get the looks but also reliable day-to-day performance. The all-day battery life with fairly quick charging speed is a welcome addition.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro excels at many aspects, but not all of them. While it is good at performance and gaming, it also is the most expensive of all Dimensity 8100 phones in India at the moment; almost twice as much as the Redmi K50i, the most affordable phone with the same chip. Being a Pro variant in the Reno family, the camera and video capabilities are good, but my expectation was higher. If you take the pricing out of the equation, the Reno 8 Pro is a pretty good overall package. If the asking cost drops in the future, I would recommend picking this over the OnePlus 10R and Realme GT Neo 3. For now, you are paying a slight premium if you pick this one.

Oppo's Reno 8 Pro 5G definitely looks the part of a premium Android smartphone. It's light, fashionable, and feels quite premium even when you consider the Rs. 45,999 asking price. It is hard to find another smartphone that comes close in terms of design and build quality at this price point. Unfortunately, you need to lower your expectations when it comes to the cameras as they aren't the best, which is a problem given how much this phone costs. Xiaomi's 11T Pro 5G (Review) is a solid alternative and it manages to offer better hardware and camera performance (along with consistency), a really good macro camera at a lower price. It loses some points for its slightly chunky design but it offers incredible value with prices starting from Rs. 37,999. Since the Reno 8 Pro 5G is priced a lot higher than its predecessor, it now goes shoulder to shoulder with smartphones from OnePlus and Motorola. There's the OnePlus 9RT 5G (Review), which offers good camera performance, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and a 120Hz OLED panel, all in a stylish package from Rs. 42,999 (8GB RAM +128GB storage).

Don’t mind trying a brand new manufacturer? Then the Nothing Phone 1 (£399) might be up your alley. Nothing’s first phone nails the Reno 8 Pro’s main strength of delivering great design in the mid-range space. It also packs a few advantages over the Reno 8 Pro such as wireless charging, a longer update commitment, and a cheaper price tag. In saying so, Oppo’s phone offers faster wired charging, more software features, and improved performance. Finally, the Google Pixel 6a (£399) is another device worth considering instead. The phone packs a pretty beefy Tensor chipset, a dual-camera setup powered by Google’s acclaimed software, a longer update commitment, IP67 rating, and Pixel-exclusive software features. Unfortunately, the Pixel 6a lacks fast wired charging and a high refresh rate display — for that you’ll need to pay a little extra for the Google Pixel 6 (£599).

The Reno 8 Pro looks and feels like a true flagship phone, even though its price tag may suggest otherwise. It has one of the best displays in this segment and I found the cameras to be a bit more reliable than, say, the OnePlus 10R’s optics, thanks to Oppo’s image processing. The MariSilicon X NPU also extends its support, allowing the Reno 8 Pro to pull off some cool tricks to further improve the experience. The MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max also performs admirably well to tackle the day-to-day workloads, but the phone tends to heat up more than I’d like, so make a note of that. All things considered, the Reno 8 Pro easily feels like one of the best Reno phones Oppo has released, and I highly recommend it to those who are looking to get a flagship-level experience without burning a huge hole in their pockets.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro is clearly a cut above the rest. Although its camera borders on the obscenely huge, it is easily masked and forgotten thanks to its novel and beautiful minimalist design. Power is definitely not something that the phone lacks, both in raw performance and in battery life. Even though it is dragged down by a mediocre ultra-wide camera and a dismal macro shooter, the 50MP main sensor does excellently, especially with some help from the MariSilicon X NPU. The Reno 8 Pro definitely sets the standard for mid-range phones this year thanks to its adequate performance on almost all fronts and its elegant design that gives it a more luxurious flair. It isn't without its flaws, of course, especially with its price tag. At around $580, it stretches what people might expect from a mid-range handset in terms of price. One could always opt for a cheaper mid-range phone or a cleaner Android experience, like with a OnePlus 10R or similar, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a phone that brings all these features together in a single package.

The question is – should you buy the OPPO Reno8 Pro? For the price of RM3,299, I think this phone is way too expensive and the time gap between the Reno 7 series and this Reno8 Pro is way too close. Remember – the Reno 7 series was released in early March of this year and after only 4 short months, we now have the Reno8 series. For phones of this price range, I don’t think such a short refresh cycle is fair for the customers. Also, OPPO, you need to have proper software support commitment if you’re going to charge so much for what is essentially a mid-range smartphone.

There are three cameras around the back of the phone and the setup is very similar to what we saw on the Reno 7 Pro 5G. There is a 50-megapixel primary with a Sony IMX766 sensor and for reasons best known to Oppo, does not have optical image stabilisation (OIS). There is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The front-facing camera offers a 32-megapixel sensor like before, but now features autofocus. The Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G's battery has a 4,500mAh capacity, similar to the Reno 7 Pro 5G, but gets quicker charging at 80W (previously 65W). Oppo claims that its Reno 8 Pro can charge up to 50 percent in just 11 minutes, but I will have to test these claims in my full review. Oppo's Reno 8 Pro may be dressed to impress but with a price hike, it's now stepped into a very competitive premium segment.

All things considered, we are glad that the Reno8 Pro+ officially made its way out of China as the Reno8 Pro we have at the office today. It is a very well-rounded device. It combines a stand-out design (even if polarizing) and excellent build quality with solid specs. As far as highlights go, the 10-bit, 120Hz, HDR10+ display is definitely one, and so are many aspects of the camera experience. The main 50MP snapper performs very well all around. MariSilicon X manages to elevate the camera experience in a noticeable way, particularly for low-light videos. The 32MP selfie camera, despite having its share of issues, offers a solid overall experience as well. Does that mean we would outright recommend picking up a Reno8 Pro, though? Well, not unless you get a really good deal on one. While the phone itself is solid, in typical Oppo fashion, its pricing outside of China is a big potential dealbreaker. While we generally like the Reno8 Pro, it is not perfect and lacks some quality-of-life bits like ingress protection.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro was released in May 2022 and the phone attained a rough price figure of $449 (Rs 34,990 in India) approx. As for the display, you get a 6.62 inches AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 500-1300 nits brightness rating. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. At the front, there’s a 32MP selfie camera, while the backside offers a triple-camera setup including a 50MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens. With this setup, you will attain a 4K video recording with gyro-EIS support from the rear camera. Apart from this, the phone weighs 188-grams. The phone is powered by a 4nm – Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset and Adreno GPU. Besides this, you get the software layering of the Android 12 OS based on the ColorOS 12.1 user interface skin. In terms of the storage department, you will receive 8GB to 12GB RAM support, while you can choose from 128GB to 256GB of internal storage. The battery section brings a Li-Po 4500 mAh battery with 80W fast charging, and reverse charging support. In terms of color variants, you can pick from the Black, Blue, and Gold option.

Overall, the OPPO Reno8 Z 5G is an elegantly designed smartphone with capable hardware for everyday affairs with a price tag of RM1799. It offers good performance on par with other phones in the same midrange segment and has a camera to match the price. The ColorOS UI has good features, but the amount of pre-installed bloatware can annoy some users. The lack of OIS also affects the performance of the camera, especially when taking photos in low light. Since the number of smartphones launched in this price range in the past year is quite high, there is fierce competition for the Reno8 Z 5G. At this price, you can also consider the HONOR 70 or Xiaomi 12 Lite. Both of these phones have better specs for roughly the same price. One of the things that makes it difficult for the OPPO Reno8 Z 5G to compete with other devices on the market is its screen which only supports a 60Hz refresh rate. However, if you're an OPPO fan, then the Reno8 Z 5G is still a pretty good premium mid-ranger in its own right. Did this OPPO Reno8 Z 5G review help you choose the right mid-range phone for you?

The other way to look at this is that OPPO had to follow the tradition of launching triple 3 phones with each generation of Reno phones – let’s say the Reno 7 for example, they launched the Reno 7 and the Reno 7 Pro, then the Reno7 Z at a slightly later date. To continue with that tradition, OPPO had to release the Reno8 Z. However, since there is a new generation of Reno phones in less than 6 months and there are either no new hardware in the market or just save on R&D cost, they just rehash an existing device with a new coat of paint.

The Oppo Reno 8 is a good, all-rounder option for casual smartphone buyers. It has most of the features that one might be looking for in a mid-range 5G smartphone under Rs 30,000. The Reno 8 can offer good enough general performance, and decent photography experience. Having an 80W fast charger in the box is an added bonus. The display is also quite vibrant and bright enough. But, this one doesn’t have dual speakers and support for storage expansion. Those who want a more powerful performance can consider buying the Poco F4, or Xiaomi 11X 5G.

The Reno8 is a decent phone with impressive performance, battery life, and charging speed. I really loved the super fast 80W SuperVOOC charging. Aside from this, the 90 Hz AMOLED display is excellent, along with the several ColorOS 12.1 features. However, the number of preinstalled junk may annoy those who like a clean Android experience. The absence of OIS does have an impact on camera performance, particularly when taking pictures in low light. Apart from these, everything else looks great. Overall, the OPPO Reno8 5G checks all the boxes for a smartphone priced under Rs 30,000. Although if you want a bigger display or battery, you can take a look somewhere else.

The Reno8 is a fairly capable phone where the performance, battery and charging speed really stand out. The camera does the job well, though I’m not a fan of those over-processed selfies. Oppo Reno8’s problem isn’t that it doesn’t have much to offer. The question many will ask, and rightly so, is: Is this the best specification that you can get in this price range? The answer is, possibly not. There are options in the market such as Poco F4 with a glass design, which is priced at Rs 27,999. Then there’s Redmi K50i, which has a powerful Mediatek Dimensity 8100 processor. There’s also the OnePlus Nord 2T that has similar specifications as the Oppo, including the charging speed. For those who want more value for money, Reno8 might have a tough time making its case.

Compact design, long battery life, stellar camera performance (including the selfie camera), fast charging, bright OLED display and powerful yet efficient SoC. Sounds great on paper, right? Sadly, that's not nearly enough to stand out from the competition, which often comes with even more high-tech displays, stereo speakers, some sort of ingress protection, and even sometimes bigger battery and/or faster chipset. Oppo's pricing of its mid-range devices is not competitive in the mid-range market segment. Not to mention the Reno8 faces some fierce in-house competition from brands such as Realme, OnePlus and even iQOO. If only the Reno8 was cheaper, it would have punched above its class with its impeccable camera performance.

OPPO Reno8 T is a mid-budget smartphone. In my opinion, it offers us good features: cool cameras (including a microscope), long battery life, relatively fast charging with 33W. It’s thin, compact, stable, and at least worth a look. As for this particular price range, the manufacturer has tried to offer us interesting features and even an unusual design (I’m talking about the eco-leather version, the grey version doesn’t look as interesting). Of course, there is a lot of competition among devices with this price, and I can’t say that OPPO is the best choice. Final score: moderately average. No wow effect, nothing tragic either. It will probably attract someone’s attention.

To wrap it up, the OPPO Reno8 T 5G is a beautiful phone with a sparkling matte finish. But the specs are just...average. While it's suitable for daily social usage, we feel the price of RM1799 is rather expensive for the quality and features offered. You can get other devices with almost the same specs at a cheaper price. For instance, there's the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G. It uses the same chipset paired with 4GB + 128GB and a large 5000mAh battery that can deliver roughly 21 hours of video playback on a single charge, all that for just RM1199. A second option would be the realme 10 Pro+, which has a more powerful Dimensity 920 5G chipset, a 120Hz AMOLED panel, 12GB of RAM, and a 5000mAh battery for the same RM1799.

Now, the biggest question that’s still left unanswered is whether or not the Reno 8 T 5G is worth the asking price of Rs 29,999. Oppo is known for making premium devices and premium comes at a cost always. There’s no denying that at this price there are other phones that offer better processors and performance. But, what Oppo Reno 8 T 5G is aimed at is offering a balance of everything -- the performance, battery, camera and that premium feel. So, if you are in search of a phone for around Rs 30,000, then Oppo Reno 8 T 5G can be a good choice, especially if you are looking for an all-rounder. However, if you are looking for a performance beast specifically then we advise you to look somewhere else.

The OPPO Reno8 T 5G offers a stunning 10-bit 120 Hz AMOLED display, a slim and lightweight curved design with a colorful glowing back, 67W SuperVOOC fast charging, ColorOS 13 features and perks, stereo speakers, and a decent Snapdragon 695 performance. The microscope camera is something you would want to play with and it does fairly well with its cameras, we would miss the 4K video recording support. The OPPO Reno8 T 5G is overall a good performer with great design, great display, and fast charging capabilities and can be considered if you have a budget of ₹30,000.

And finally – for the price of RM1,799 – oof, I just gotta say that this phone is expensive. I mean yeah – there are a lot of special features like the curved screen for better comfort when gripping, the microscope camera, 67W fast charging – all of that stuff. However, are those your priority? Maybe this is the priority for certain users – but that’s up for you to judge. I’m merely presenting the data and what I found out about this phone to you.

Looking at the OPPO Reno8 T, it becomes clear that the device is meant for those who like premium build quality but aren’t willing to pay the premium price tag. The phone has just the right features that give it a mass market appeal but might not appeal to smartphone enthusiasts or power users. There’s no doubt in my mind that the Reno8 T is a capable, nicely-designed piece of hardware, and for everyday usage and casual photography, the device can be considered a worthwhile option.

The Reno8 T is made for fashion-conscious people that want a phone that can double as a statement piece. While there are two colors, the better option is the Sunset Orange one with its luxurious fiberglass-leather back panel and gold-colored frame that can go along with anyone’s OOTD. While it lacks 5G and 4K video recording, the Reno8 T has all the essential specs that people would look for in a phone–and makes up for it with a decent performance from its internals and a great AMOLED display.

The Oppo Reno8 T 5G is all about standing out from the crowd and for Rs. 29999, I think it justifies itself well. The blingy design and the trendy curved edge display are sure to woo youngsters and female customers alike. Eyeball grabbing specs such as the 108MP camera, microscope camera, and the 120Hz OLED panel could help those pesky store salesmen to push out the phone easily to the lesser known crowd. Look beyond its glittery facade and the Reno8 T 5G is simply average. The Snapdragon 695 runs fine for now but in a year or two, the Android OS could itself be too much for it to handle, let alone the updated and intensive apps. The camera quality is sub-par too and ColorOS 13 could do away with those shady Oppo apps. At Rs. 30000, the Reno8 T 5G also faces tough competition from the Nothing Phone 1, if a standout design and build quality is priority. Phones such as the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus and iQOO Neo 6 are more capable options at this price.

The Oppo Reno8 T 5G is a new contender at Rs. 29,999 in India. This could be a decent option for somebody who wants a slim smartphone with a curved-edge display and enjoys taking selfies. However, for the performance-oriented user, I feel there are better alternatives in this segment.

So, should you consider buying OPPO’s Reno 8T 5G? The answer largely depends on how much money you have to spare. And what your requirements from the phone are. If you want to click some great pictures, stream OTT content, play games, and multitask, the Oppo Reno 8T might be a useful addition. The price, at Rs 29,999, is justified because of the features that it offers. Overall, this is an impressive phone and I think you will not be disappointed.

The Oppo Reno 8T 4G and 5G are odd pairs in the mid-range smartphone, especially the standard 4G variant. The 4G smartphone is already the choice as various other options offer the same specs at relatively less price. For instance, the Realme 10 Pro Plus can be considered a great phone compare to the standard, as well as, the 5G variant. The OPPO Reno 8T is a stunner. It is undeniably eye-catching with its iridescent matte-finish rear panel and gorgeous curved display. The phone also has a good primary camera for daylight use and great battery life. However, it lacks powerful hardware. At this price, featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC means it offers the same performance chops as lower-end phones such as POCO X4 Pro, Vivo T1, Moto G62, and Micromax In Note 2. Meanwhile, its competitors in and around the 30K price point run away with all the performance accolades.
