Der Intel Core i7-10700K ist eine High-End-CPU mit zehn Kernen auf Basis der neuen Comet-Lake-Architektur, die Ende April 2020 bereits angekündigt wurde. Der Prozessor taktet mit 3,8-5,1 GHz und kann dank Hyperthreading bis zu 16 Threads gleichzeitig bearbeiten. Gefertigt wird der Intel Core i7-10700K weiterhin im 14-nm-Prozess. Dank des freien Multiplikators lässt sich der Prozessor vergleichsweise einfach übertakten. Voraussetzung hierfür ist jedoch ein Mainboard mit dem Z490 Chipsatz.
Performance
Im Vergleich zum Intel Core i7-9700K bietet der Core i7-10700K nun Hyperthreading, was bei Multi-Thread-Anwendungen für einen spürbaren Performance-Schub sorgt. Die Single-Core-Leistung bleibt nahezu unverändert auf dem Niveau des Core i7-9700K. Dank des TVB (Thermal Velocity Boost) kann der Intel Core i7-10700K bis zu 5,1 GHz auf einem Kern erreichen. Im Vergleich dazu kam der Core i7-9700K nur auf 4,9 GHz. Gleichwohl liegt der All-Core-Boost des Core i7-10700K noch bei 4,7 GHz. Allerdings spielen hierfür viele Faktoren eine Rolle (Art des Workloads, Anzahl aktiver CPU-Kerne, kalkulierte Stromstärke, kalkulierte Leistungsaufnahme, CPU-Temperatur). Das Top-Modell, der Intel Core i9-10900K legt hier sogar noch eine Schippe drauf und bietet einen All-Core-Boost von bis zu 4,9 GHz.
Grafikeinheit
Wie schon zuvor bietet auch der Intel Core i7-10700K mit der Intel UHD Graphics 630 eine iGPU, welche sich aber aufgrund der geringen Leistung nicht für aufwendige Spiele eignet. Als Low-End-Lösung können aktuelle Videospiele, wenn überhaupt, lediglich in verminderter Detailstufe flüssig wiedergegeben werden.
Leistungsaufnahme
Hier hat Intel deutliche Veränderungen vorgenommen und dem Intel Core i7-10700K einen Spielraum von bis zu 229 Watt (PL2) unter Volllast eingeräumt. Die angegebene TDP von 125 Watt (PL1) wird in den meisten Fällen fast immer überschritten, was an den geänderten PL2 (229 Watt) sowie dem Tau-Wert (56 Sekunden) liegt. Beim Intel Corei7-9700K lag der PL2-Wert noch bei 156 Watt. Der Tau-Wert betrug zu seiner Zeit nur 28 Sekunden. Aufgrund der deutlich höheren Leistungsaufnahme sollte der Core i7-10700K nur mit einer sehr leistungsstarken Kühlung verwendet werden.

En una comparación directa con el Intel Core i7-9700K, el más reciente Core i7-10700K sólo puede destacar claramente en los benchmarks multi-hilo. El rendimiento de un solo núcleo está al mismo nivel y el AMD Ryzen 9 3900X tampoco es más rápido aquí. Sin embargo, debido a sus 12 núcleos, puede situarse delante de nuestra muestra en las pruebas multi-núcleo aquí. El Core i9-10900K puede mejorar esto y se coloca casi un 10 por ciento por delante del Core i7-10700K.

Economical when idling and thirsty under load! So you can rate the Core i7-10700K's energy consumption in one sentence. But always one after the other. The power target (PL1) is 125 watts, which already means an increase of 30 watts compared to the Core i7-9700K. Intel also increases the maximum power consumption (PL2) to 229 watts. At the same time, the tau value for PL2 is also increased by a factor of two, which means that this high power consumption can now be applied for 56 seconds. This now also requires a much more sophisticated cooling unit.
In our test, the energy consumption of the Intel Core i7-10700K is comparable to an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X. Only 7 watts separate the two systems in the Cinebench R15 multi loop in favor of Intel.
