The vivo V30 5G is overpriced in our estimation at the end of this review at an RRP of R19 999. The brand could cut R5 000 from what you need to spend and it may be more accurate to what is being offered here. Simply put, there are older smartphones with brands like Xiaomi and Samsung that offer almost the same performance, almost as good camera quality, and even faster charging, for half the price. In that case, we can’t recommend the V30 over these alternatives when you can easily save up a bit more and buy an iPhone or a premium Samsung model for considerably better performance and hardware.

Vivo smartphones have always tended to be slightly more expensive than their competitors, which can sometimes make it difficult to recommend them when the midrange category is ultra-competitive. The Vivo V30, however, has two exceptional selling points: a powerful ring light and excellent battery life. The Aura Light Portrait 3.0 ring flash is unique. Still, we struggle to see how useful it can be for users who don't regularly create content, particularly people not interested in live-streaming. The occasional use case can be for lighting up subjects in dimly lit environments. Still, unless you’re constantly in dark environments, this shouldn’t be a factor to consider when purchasing a phone. A built-in ring light caters to a very specific audience that's either active in dark venues or needs good lighting in a pinch.

Vivo made the V30 for people who want excellent cameras without breaking the bank. We found its zoom algorithm somewhat lacking but the main cameras produce amazing regular photos. The Vivo V30 doesn’t disappoint much in everyday usage, thanks to a large curved display, a big battery with fast charging, and highly customizable software. But if cameras aren’t your primary need, you might find some great alternatives. After all, the mid-range Android market is full of amazing phones.

All in all, the Vivo V30 is a really good option for photographers. For one, it’s affordable but capable, though sadly not widely available everywhere. Of course, there’s also the mid-range Vivo V30 Pro available at a slightly higher but still competitive price, which shares the three 50MP cameras with the Vivo V30 but includes some extra features such as an additional telephoto camera and Zeiss branding. Image and video quality wasn’t perfect, but I mostly got very good results with the Vivo V30 and I would be more than happy to continue using it for photography (particularly portraits) and shooting video. This phone is also very aesthetic and while it is slim and thin, this doesn’t mean a small battery – which is a definite plus.

Priced starting Rs 33,999 for the 8GB / 128GB variant, going up to Rs 37,999 for the top-end 12GB / 256GB variant, the Vivo V30 has lots going for it. The lack of stereo speakers at this price point is a bummer, and if you’re a performance fiend, you could consider the iQOO Neo 9 Pro (review) which offers the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset for Rs 36,999. Among its close rivals like the Samsung Galaxy A35 (review) and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ (review), the Vivo V30 seems like a better performer. Its sleek design, Aura light and capable cameras work its favour too, making it a phone worth more than just a second look if you covet a stylish phone that ticks most boxes.

If you're looking for a good mid-range smartphone under Rs 35,000, the Vivo V30 is a worthy option. However, if you can stretch your budget a bit, the Vivo V30 Pro boasts a superior ZEISS camera system. But for those on a strict budget, the V30 won't disappoint at all. As a reliable daily driver, the Vivo V30 delivers smooth performance, a capable camera for everyday photos and videos, and a great viewing experience.

As we wrap this up, I’m sure we have to address the elephant in the room. How much is the vivo V30? At the time of writing this review, the V30 should be available at vivo’s official stores, Lazada, Shopee, and TikTok for PHP 24,999 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It’s also available with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage for PHP 27,999 with available colors in Petals White and Green Sea. Considering its cost, performance, and everything else under the sun, the V30 is an excellent pickup for 2024. It’s got a fairly minimal but unique design language, with software that caters to user experience, and has a solid camera setup that stands out. And when it comes to performance, this phone is no slouch either. Users get a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 to back this up paired with a long-lasting 5,000mAh battery.

The Vivo V series is best known for its cameras and slim body, and the Vivo v30 delivers. For Rs 33,999, the Vivo V30 offers solid camera performance, especially in portraits and low-light conditions. It features a slim, solid base in terms of camera and design. But it lacks a few things, such as no stereo speakers and less-than-solid performance. The Vivo V30 may appeal to people looking for a smartphone with a great design and a great camera. However, if you’re looking for alternatives, there are several good options. The iQOO Neo 9 Pro and the OnePlus 12R are good choices when it comes to overall performance.

The vivo V30 may be a bit expensive for its class, but it definitely punches above its weight. The handset impresses with exceptional camera performance and unmatched battery life. The display, chipset, and charging are also quite competitive, although they are not part of the device's standout features. All in all, we can only think of just two drawbacks - the lack of stereo speakers and the relatively high price tag. Aside from that, the V30 is an excellent all-rounder with marginal drawbacks.

Okay wrapping things up, the Vivo V30 tries to stand out in the pack with a sleek design, and a good overall camera setup. The new SD 7 Gen 3 is a fairly powerful chipset that can handle your daily chores very well and can do some gaming as well. The 50MP ultrawide camera has to be one of the best in the segment right now with natural color tones and good details. Also, the display is sharp with its 1.5K resolution and goes well for content watching. Even the battery life with a 5000mAh battery is commendable alongside the 80W fast charging. But there are surely some negatives about this phone. The 120Hz refresh rate is not well optimized and gets jumped back to 90Hz even while turning on the 120Hz mode! And the single speaker setup at this price point is a bummer! Pair that with the buzzy haptics and a boring UI!

The Vivo V30 is a premium smartphone for sure. It is truly capable of delivering a great camera and user experience like Vivo said it would. The Vivo V30’s pros include its stunning design, flagship-grade display, great chipset, superb camera, 5G, and fantastic battery life. As for cons, the smartphone lacks wireless charging and a telephoto lens. But can you consider those cons if the smartphone is priced correctly? And even if it’s priced correctly, is this smartphone for you? Well, you will just have to ask yourself what you need out of a smartphone. If you want a great all-around smartphone, then the Vivo V30 is certainly a great choice. If you want great camera capabilities, then the Vivo V30 is also great for that as well. But if your needs strictly include a telephoto lens or wireless charging, then you should avoid this smartphone.

Unboxing the Vivo V30 5G, one of the best new mid-range phones I've tested in 2024. With upgraded camera tech, gaming chops and battery life vs the V29, the Vivo V30 5G is pleasurable in almost every area. Here's a hands-on review with the camera, Genshin Impact skills and FunTouch OS (yes, they still haven't changed that name). It's a proper Android 14 experience on here, with lots of bonus bits (and crapware) stashed on top. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 produces a smooth experience, and the Vivo V30 5G can also cope with intensive gaming on the likes of Genshin. Just not on the absolute top graphics settings. Battery life is strong, offering many hours of screen on time between charges. That's another upgrade over the V29. And the Vivo V30 5G also boasts a few updates to the camera tech including a fresh 50MP ultra-wide snapper. You've got that same Aura Flash shenanigans, plus a 50MP selfie shooter. So that's what I think of the mid-range Vivo V30 5G, one of my favourite Android phones that I've reviewed that isn't a thousand pound flagship. Let us know your thoughts below!

Everything about the camera app for the V30 shows that Vivo and Zeiss took into account exactly how people use cameras these days. They know it’s for social media and sharing, so the selfies have a ton of features. Likewise, there’s an option to make bite-size videos, perfect for sharing on social media platforms that may or may not be banned by Congress. The Vivo V30 Pro is not a huge jump from its predecessor, the Vivo V29 Pro. In terms of user experience and camera performance, Vivo offers only incremental upgrades, like slightly faster charging with longer battery life. Then, there are a few new camera features, like the inclusion of Zeiss Style Bokehs (or filters) on a V series smartphone, that might entice a consumer who loves shooting portrait photos. Sadly, the phone misses out on some key features found in other smartphones at this price point, like a better official IP rating for dust and water resistance and the new AI features that most manufacturers are focussing on in 2024. It's also using a rather dated processor, which isn't exactly champion when it comes to performance given its premium price tag, which starts from Rs. 41,999. Strangely, this is not exactly a problem.

There is a lot to like about the V30 Pro. You get a lot of interesting specifications for your money, and on the whole it’s a very good performer. Image quality is good in most situations, and while not perfect in low light, for the price point it delivers well enough for social media and small prints. The portrait mode has some interesting options, and again, although it’s not perfect, it’s fun to use and creates good results a lot of the time. The body of the phone, being so thin and light, perhaps makes it appealing to those looking for something aesthetically pleasing, while it’s a bonus that this slimness hasn’t meant a reduction in battery size. Of course, the biggest downside of the V30 Pro is its availability. While it’s great for the limited markets that it’s currently on sale in, the rest of the world has to do without.

So, that wraps up our review of the vivo V30 Pro 5G. But before that, we have to talk about the price. The vivo V30 Pro 5G in 12GB+512GB configuration retails for PHP 34,999, making it a lot more expensive compared to the vivo V29 5G in the same configuration. For reference, the V29 5G retailed at PHP 26,999. Yes, it’s a big price jump, but the difference in quality can be seen both on the outside and in terms of performance. The Vivo V30 Pro is probably the best photographic performer in its price bracket right now. The last few generations have impressed with flawless selfies, but now the rear cameras are highly impressive, too. Especially the main sensor, which is capable of capturing flagship-level images with lovely Zeiss-backed image processing and effects. As usual, though, the lack of availability dampens things. If you live in a supported region, like Thailand or Indonesia, it’s an absolute bargain, but elsewhere, you’d need to import – and most people won’t be willing to go to such lengths for a midrange handset.

If you’re looking for a photographic performer that doesn’t break the bank, the Vivo V30 Pro is an excellent choice. It’s especially true if you like to take a lot of selfies, or portrait shots of people, as that’s where this Zeiss-backed camera system really shines. The phone is solid in other areas too, I wasn’t left wanting performance, the battery life is great and it charges in a flash. There’s something to be said for the slim build, too. The styling isn’t exactly to my taste, but I’m sure plenty of people will love it, and it definitely stands out in a crowded market. Of course, this only applies if you can get your hands on it. If you can, it’s a bit of a bargain, but otherwise, most people aren’t going to be willing to go to the lengths of importing a mid-range handset. If you’re looking for a photography powerhouse that won’t break the bank, the Vivo V30 Pro should be at the top of your list. That highly versatile quad 50MP camera setup will let you capture stunning shots in any scenario – and you’ll particularly love this phone if you’re fond of clicking photos of your friends at fancy events with tricky lighting conditions. And despite that massive 6.78-inch display, clever ergonomics make this big boy surprisingly easy to grip and wield. The Vivo V30 Pro proves that mid-premium smartphones can be fun to use even without native generative AI features. Of course, those features would give it an edge, but we may have to wait for another until those become mainstream. Purely for cameras, the Vivo V30 Pro offers a host of options well-suited for upcoming creators and regular users. The 5,000mAh battery with 80W charging may also attract customers who value solid battery backup and fast charging. However, performance-focused users may seek a more powerful chipset, and for that, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro (review) is a great choice. AI-focused users can consider the Pixel 7a (review). It's hard to carve out a niche in the mid-range segment, but Vivo managed to do just that with the V30 Pro. Thanks to three 50MP cameras at the back and another 50MP lens up front, the V30 Pro delivers a versatile camera package that you just don't get on any other device other than true flagships, and that gives the device a legitimate edge. If anything, I'm surprised Samsung and Xiaomi haven't thought of doing this already. Come to think of it, there aren't many faults with the V30 Pro; the design is absolutely stunning — you should just get the Bloom White model — the battery lasts all day, the screen is great to use, and the device is significantly thinner than any other 2024 phone. Vivo turned its software efforts around as well, and Funtouch OS 14 is clean and has a lot of useful features.

The V30 Pro is an impressively well-rounded mid-ranger, with decent performance, respectable battery life and a great screen. Styling looks the part too – but photography is what really sets it apart. The three rear cameras punch above their weight, with great range and effective portrait lighting. I have a few grumbles, and image quality isn’t miles ahead of similarly-priced rivals, but it’s still a very good performer. The usual Vivo caveats apply: unless you live in India, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, it’ll be very difficult to get hold of one. And once you do, it’ll take some time to strip all the bloatware apps out of FunTouch OS. It’s not like there aren’t plenty of fantastic mid-range alternatives, either.

Finding any particular glaring fault with the vivo V30 Pro is hard. Sure, it is not exactly a cheap device, but it's not 2024 premium flagship money either. And, in keeping with tradition, vivo has packed some pretty impressive hardware into the V30 Pro's very thin and eye-catching curvy body. Particularly, we just have to point out the camera setup. A quad 50MP camera setup with autofocus all around is just not something you see every day. The V30 Pro has incredible camera chops, especially when it comes to portrait shots, be it at 1x with the main camera, 2x with the telephoto or even the impressively wide and sharp selfie camera. The V30 Pro also does great in low-light conditions. If vivo fixes up its EIS implementation, the V30 Pro would be a no-brainer for an all-around amazing cameraphone able to rub shoulders with much more expensive devices.

Okay, moving to the conclusion, I really feel the Vivo V30 Lite to be in a confusing position. Its elder brother, the V30 5G was just priced right at the sweet spot with both impressive cameras and performance. But sadly, I couldn’t say the same about this guy! I think the price tag is a bit on the expensive side. Because the performance here is just average, and so is the main camera for both stills and videos. (The selfie camera is fine though!) To be more precise, the Snapdragon 685 can cater well to normal users, but not to those seeking some performance and power. If only, Vivo had used a better chip as I’ve aforementioned, the Helio G99. Plus a more optimized main camera! That way the phone could have brought more of an appeal.

Overall, the vivo V30e is a decent phone, but it is easily outshined by its siblings, particularly the V30 Pro 5G. But as mentioned before, the V30 Pro 5G is now a lot more expensive (starting at PHP 34,999) than its predecessor, making it a bit out of reach for budget-conscious buyers. For comparison, the vivo V30e retails for PHP 17,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant. For reference, its predecessor the vivo V29e retailed for PHP 18,999, making it even more affordable than before. At that price point, it’s hard to complain about the vivo V30e for everything it can offer. You have nice cameras, a beautiful AMOLED display, a stylish design, and a capable chipset that can run graphic-intensive titles. Still, it’s not perfect. There’s the heating issue when playing games, and the lack of stereo speakers. But what do you think of the vivo v30e? Would you consider it over the V30 Pro 5G if you lack the budget or save up a bit more? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Overall, the vivo V30e is a good mid-range device that offers decent features. For the price of PHP17,999, the vivo V30e offers an amazing display, ample camera, and gaming performance with impressive battery efficiency. Aside from all that, you also get an aesthetically pleasing device. There are other options in the market with the same price tag, but if you are specifically looking to buy a vivo smartphone, then the vivo V30e is a good buy.

While it has a lower SRP than the V29e, vivo had to make a few compromises to the V30e to maintain that pricing. However, it makes up for it with quality-of-life upgrades with the processor, video recording capabilities, and an IP rating, while its biggest upgrade over the V30e’s predecessor is the display and the sensor used for the main camera.

Rs 27,999 is the asking price of the Vivo V30e as of the time of writing, and at that price, there is no shortage of smartphones available within the segment. Some of the popular alternatives include the OnePlus Nord CE 4 (review), POCO X6 Pro (review), and Realme 12 Pro+ (review), and each of them has their pros and cons when compared to Vivo’s offering. If performance is your priority, the POCO X6 Pro and OnePlus Nord CE 4 are worth checking out. The Realme 12 Pro+, on the other hand, has a versatile camera setup featuring a telephoto lens. That said, these alternatives are predominantly available online through platforms like Flipkart and Amazon. In contrast, the Vivo V30e targets both offline and online markets. For offline buyers, it presents an enticing mid-range option with its appealing design, vibrant display, and impressive battery life. Barring the low-light performance, the V30e’s cameras are commendable.

The Vivo V30e is a masterclass in design – it is meticulously designed to provide a premium look at a relatively affordable price. The battery life is also one of the best in the sub-₹30,000 price segment. The OnePlus Nord CE4 beats it in this regard but it is also a bulkier phone. Not just that, the Vivo V30e performs admirably in many other areas. The primary and selfie cameras are pretty solid for the price, the display is bright enough to use even in direct sunlight, and Vivo has promised a solid three years of software updates. However, if you are a mobile gamer looking for a powerful phone under ₹30K, the POCO X6 Pro and OnePlus Nord CE4 are better options, without a doubt. Following the debut of the Vivo V30 and Vivo V30 Pro (review), Vivo introduced its 2024 ‘e’ series addition, the Vivo V30e.

So should you buy this smartphone? Well, that highly depends on usage. If you are someone who is attracted towards a sleek, lightweight and good-looking smartphone, then the Vivo V303 checks all the boxes. While the smartphone lacks in some areas, it does excel in providing impressive battery life, great viewing experience, decent gaming experience, acceptable camera performance and more. However, if you have heavy smartphone usage and looking for gaming purposes then you can skip this one.
