Análisis para el Vivo X70 Pro
Origen: DxOMark EN→ES
The Vivo X70 Pro (MediaTek) shows improvement over its predecessor, the X60 Pro, in almost every way. Colors are even more faithful; the video watching experience is considerably better, with well-rendered midtones; ghost touches, and judder have been eliminated; and while touch accuracy is somewhat lacking, the device’s feel is smoother in every use case. Where the X70 Pro falters, however, is in readability, where it falls behind the older device by several points. The lack of brightness is especially noticeable outdoors, where content on the X70 Pro can hardly be seen, especially under sunlight.

Think of it this way - if a user really wanted additional gimbal stabilisation for photos and near-flagship performance, the X60 Pro is still good and fresh enough to qualify, especially with the X70 Pro being around to lower the predecessor’s street price. That’s even before you consider models outside of Vivo’s stable of phones. The upside for X60 Pro owners is that you’re not missing out much from the new X70 Pro and similarly, for those shopping for a new phone, you probably are getting a good deal out of the Vivo X60 Pro if you can find it priced lower than the newer X70 Pro. We felt that Vivo could’ve either brought in the X70 Pro+ to compete with the big boys, or choose to price the X70 Pro at a competitive price point to give Xiaomi, ASUS, and even OnePlus extra pause. That said, you’re not likely to be disappointed should you choose to get a Vivo X70 Pro. It has a great photography suite, an appealing design, a decent display, and an extremely long battery life.

The Vivo X70 Pro is probably not for those looking for high quality sound from a smartphone. With only one speaker, it starts out at a disadvantage. In playback, its limitations are readily apparent, and a little disappointing at this price point. As a recording device, the Vivo device turns in an average showing, with good functionality in most use cases and especially in high SPL environments.

The Vivo X70 Pro (Mediatek) is the international version (there is also a China-only version with Exynos chipset) of Vivo’s Premium smartphone. It is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 1200 chipset and comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The curved AMOLED display measures 6.56 inches and displays images at FHD+ resolution and with a 120Hz refresh rate. Like the flagship model X70 Pro+ the X70 Pro comes with a quad-camera that features a dual-tele setup and Zeiss-certified optics but the Plus model uses higher resolution sensors and/or faster apertures in some modules. The primary camera uses a large 50 MP sensor behind a f/1.75 lens and the 12 MP ultra-wide comes with a gimbal-style stabilization system. Tele zooming is delivered by a 12 MP 2x lens in combination with an 8MP 5x periscope-style module.

Retailing at a recommended retail price S$1,199, the vivo X70 Pro is certainly not a smartphone that everyone can afford. There is no doubt that it has a great camera system that captures superb photos especially in low light situations, but we feel that its other shortcomings don’t justify its premium price tag. Regardless, if you are a firm believer of the ZEISS camera system that’s co-engineered with vivo, the vivo X70 Pro certainly boasts one of the best camera systems we’ve tested to date for both photos and videos. We recommend that you can try the phone out at vivo retail stores to have a better understanding of what the smartphone beholds. As for the other features which we’ve tested, they are comparable with any other smartphones at this price range. Spoiling the market, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite NE was able to trade blows with the vivo X70 Pro, while retailing at half its price. I think it boils down to brand loyalty and the mentioned unique features on the vivo X70 Pro to determine if someone will make the decision to purchase this smartphone.

Most people will buy the Vivo X70 Pro for its incredible camera abilities, which are on par with some of the biggest flagships out there. However, this phone also packs a great-looking design, long battery life and a smooth AMOLED display. There are drawbacks – the processor is a step down from the X60 Pro, the speakers are poor, and the software features a lot of clutter. And of course – at the time of writing – you can only get the phone imported into markets like the UK and US. That said, if top-tier photography is your bag, then you should seriously consider the Vivo X70 Pro.

Vivo X70 Pro takes a few steps backward in comparison with its predecessor. The processor, charging wattage, factory case all take a hit. Also, there is no Gorilla Glass protection on the display or the back cover anymore. There are some positives such as a better display, a bigger battery, NFC, and a new quad-camera module on the back. A few things do not change which include the overall hardware design, and the single audio speaker. And sadly there is no official IP rating or wireless charging still available. The last two features are a must if the X70 Pro wants to compete with devices like the Pixel 6 or Samsung Galaxy S21 in my opinion. The camera experience is improved versus the X60 Pro since the newer cameras have better specs. But the end result isn’t too different for the main camera or ultrawide camera. The most meaningful upgrades are to the telephoto zoom cameras which most people tend to use sparingly. So while the X70 Pro is better I don’t know if it is reason enough to upgrade. If you love Vivo devices and are wanting to upgrade then this device may make some sense.

The Vivo X70 Pro is a new addition from Vivo to its X-series line of flagship phones. Its predecessor the X60 Pro was just launched in April this year and featured the best in class camera setup. The X70 Pro is not just to refresh as the short release cycle would suggest and is quite the opposite as the X70 Pro brings similar features to the X60 Pro + and occupies a different price bracket. The phone looks quite good in design and carries an excellent camera system. But the overall price of the device seems expensive and not a value purchase with other flagship devices from Samsung seems to offer a better value proposition.

The missing stereo speakers, Gorilla Glass protection, IP certification, proper video recording quality and a true flagship SoC are the things that keep us from giving the X70 Pro an excellent overall score. However, the handset makes up for the lack of those with some unique features that are impossible to find in this price range. The device has the most versatile camera setup in this segment with no-nonsense sensors. And it does that with a relatively compact body and screen too. Speaking of the screen, the X70 Pro impresses with outstanding brightness and thin bezels all-around. The coating on the back wins bonus points for smoothness and not being a fingerprint magnet. Although average in battery capacity, the phone managed to overtake the competition in our endurance tests with ease. The gimbal stabilization on the main cam is a nice touch that works well in both video and stills, although you will rarely need it for the latter. We don't often say this, but the feature set and the real-world use of the device make us look the other way when it comes to raw power.

No doubt the Vivo X70 and X70 Pro smartphones are worth recommending, you can choose one of those and you won’t be disappointed with the camera’s quality. But at the same time, if you look at the performance section, there are few glitches compared to the competition, but in the end, battery life manages everything precisely. In short, if you prefer a camera over performance, the Vivo X70 series is a good choice for you. But if you’re looking for something performance-oriented, then look for the Vivo X70 Pro+.
