Análisis para el Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
Origen: Tuexperto Archive.org version

The Mi Note 3 is a downgrade on the Mi6 and, arguably, the Mi Note 2, but it appeals with a lower price and an attractive premium design. Though it doesn't feature a flagship processor, this is is a very capable smartphone with a very decent dual-camera. Provided you can live without 800MHz 4G and are happy to install Google Play Services yourself, it's difficult not to recommend the Mi Note 3.

There's no difference on the outside whatsoever, as the Redmi Note 3 (Snapdragon) isn't a facelift, but the same device with a new engine. Not sure whether the two models will ever be offered side by side in the same market but if that happens, be sure to go with the Snapdragon-rocking Redmi Note 3. The Qualcomm chipset is snappier than the MediaTek Helio X10 in the original release and runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with MIUI 8 trouble-free.

The Note 3 attempts to one up the Note 2 but perhaps our expectations were too high. Having been spoiled by the Note 2, the Note 3 feels more like an incremental upgrade that disappoints with some things (like fingerprint detection) and merely does well in others. Maybe a higher resolution screen (it’s still 1920×1080) and more RAM would have done it – we just don’t know.

There's no denying that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is a great deal in its homeland. For a phone costing the equivalent of $150 to $180, it delivers plenty of value for its money. Importing one to Europe or the U.S. makes less sense, however, and this is the standpoint from which I'll draw my conclusion. In this case, a buyer is likely to end up spending between $250 and $300 due to shipping fees and taxes. For this kind of money, they’re probably better off getting a Nexus 5X or a Moto X Pure Edition. I’m not even accounting for the time one might spend waiting for their unit to ship. If the phone turns out to be faulty, then good luck getting a replacement or your money back. On a related note, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 unit I’ve been using already has a sizeable speck of dust in the middle of the camera lens.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is a highly recommended smartphone in its price segment, especially if you are looking for a smartphone that offers unparalleled performance and battery-life. The only possible downside to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is its weak low-light camera performance and the fact that it ships with Android Lollipop-based MiUI 7, rather than the expected Marshmallow-based MiUI.

Xiaomi has clearly delivered enough goods with the Redmi Note 3 for us to recommend it. While it comes in two variants – Rs 9,999 (for 2GB RAM/16GB ROM) and Rs 11,999 (for 3GB RAM/32GB ROM) – we would recommend the latter as it gives you more room to do multi-tasking. Of course, you need to keep in mind that this phone does not perform well in the low light photography department. So if all you are looking for is a great battery life and fast performance – the Redmi Note 3 has little competition.

The Redmi Note 3 is a game changer for its price point. Barring its sub-par camera performance in low-light, the handset passes with flying colors in every other department: display, performance, and battery life. On the performance front especially, the Redmi Note 3 is a true ‘flagship killer.’ I really don’t see any difference between its performance and that of a high-end flagship device like the LG G4 or the Samsung Galaxy S6. And unlike the latter, the Redmi Note 3 does not even suffer from any poor RAM management issues.

It's hard to find fault with the Redmi Note 3 as it ticks all the right boxes, and in some ways, rivals phones that cost a lot more. The metal body and fingerprint sensor are welcome additions to the Redmi series, and make the Note 3 feel relevant in 2016. You also get a great display, very good battery life, and a powerful SoC. The camera isn't too bad, although we could have done with sharper stills and better quality HD videos. MIUI 7 is improved compared to previous versions, and is quite likable. We do wish storage expansion beyond 32GB was officially supported, and it woudn't have hurt to throw in NFC just to complete the package.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 may not be best suited to UK users out of the box, but with some simple setup tweaks it is an excellent budget Android phone with a fantastic design and performance for the price.

At that price, the phone represents phenomenal value for money. Even if you leave the price aside for a second, the Redmi Note 3 has a combination of a great design and build quality, good display, great performance, fingerprint sensor, and excellent battery life. Add to that the incredible pricing, and it makes it easier to ignore some of the shortcomings, such as the less than stellar camera, outdated version of Android, and the lack of proper fast charging, none of which are deal breakers to begin with. At this price, it is easily the best phone in its price range.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is currently available only in China, priced at RMB 899 for the 16 GB and 2 GB RAM version, while the Prime iteration, with 32 GB storage and 3 GB of RAM, is priced at RMB 1,099, which roughly translates to $140 and $172 respectively. Importing the device will result in a higher price tag, but the soon to be released global version should feature the same pricing.

The Redmi Note 3 is more of a Prime version of the Note 2, instead of a direct successor. It has the same screen, system-on-chip, camera, and software package, but the Note 3 improves the looks with a premium metal build and adds a fingerprint scanner for enhanced security. Others will surely appreciate the bigger battery, which increases the overall rated battery life.

The fingerprint sensor placed on the rear is quick to recognise which finger has been used, and unlocks the smartphone in under half a second. Setting it up was also hassle-free. The speaker on the bottom rear is average. The latest smartphone by Xiaomi is powered by a 4000mAh battery, which is a pretty large capacity compared to recently launched options in the same price bracket. The company claims that the battery can be charged up to 50 percent in an hour, which we will need to test for ourselves.

Xiaomi’s latest Redmi phablet is a killer device, but the marketing department's decision to ditch the microSD slot won't be welcomed by a lot of potential customers. It offers great performance and specs at competitive pricing, and the big battery is just icing on the cake. Can we recommend it? Yep, and we won’t lose any sleep over it.
