Overall, the POCO F6’s performance is the star of the show. You don’t usually get flagship-level processors in mid-range phones, but Xiaomi has pulled it off here. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is the real deal, offering high-end gaming and multitasking at a price point that stands out from the competition. Of course, Xiaomi had to balance things out—so while they spent big on the processor, other areas like the camera and build materials are a bit more modest. But if performance is your priority, the POCO F6 delivers smooth gameplay and future-proofed tech for just $699. The POCO F6 is available in Black, Green, and Titanium, in an 8GB+256GB variant for the Australian consumer market.

Also, this price bracket can be more competitive than you think. We've not included other great picks like the Nothing Phone (2) (at S$999), which offers unique customisation that tinkerers love HyperOS for. Then, you have the AI-backed rivals with better imaging, equally decent displays, and battery uptime, like the Google Pixel 8a (S$799) and the upcoming OPPO Reno12 Pro (which we've recently tried too). If you don't play video games, you can save even more money with the next closest thing to these Poco phones, the Nothing Phone (2a). In our view, the lack of polish in areas like imaging and audio prevents the Poco F6 and Poco F6 Pro from competing with other midrange phone makers touting fancy AI, fancier backlights, and impressive imaging algorithms.

At £449 the Poco F6 is an interesting device. It comes with more storage and RAM than you’ll ever need, a powerful processor, a decent set of cameras and a screen that is good overall. However, a phone is always more than the sum of its parts, and it is unfortunately the experience of using the F6 that lets it down. HyperOS is a faff, battery life isn’t brilliant and the design is quite generic. For the price, it offers a competent overall package, but if you want a better camera, more battery life or just a little more, you’d be best to look at the mid-range competition.

The Poco F6 is a true flagship killer in every sense. It offers impressive performance, a beautiful display, and decent cameras for its price range. It proves you don’t need to spend Rs 50,000 or above for a flagship-level performance. However, you must contend with the heating issues, plastic build, and bloatware-ridden software. If you can live with these issues, the Poco F6 is the perfect phone for you, and it continues the legacy of the iconic Poco F1. You can also consider phones like the Realme GT 6T, which offer curved screens with LTPO support, better cameras, and a cleaner software experience.

The Poco F6 replaces the Poco X6 Pro as the most powerful device you can get in terms of processor power for under Rs 30,000, and perhaps even Rs 35,000. For gamers on a tight budget, it is an absolute no-brainer as that combination of speedy processor, storage, RAM, display, and very good speakers is capable of handling pretty much any game you throw at it at high settings. Other phones in the segment might be able to beat the Poco F6 in the camera department and bring more premium-looking designs and displays to the table, but in terms of sheer processor performance, the Poco F6 is in a zone of its own. We had called the Poco X6 Pro “a darned monster.” The Poco F6 outdoes even that!

The Poco F6 is a mid-range phone that competes with the likes of the new Realme GT 6T, Vivo V30e, and the Realme 12 Pro+ (Review). There's also the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ (Review), the Nothing Phone 2a (Review), and the Samsung Galaxy A35 (Review). While all of these phones are priced similarly, they do not offer the same performance as the F6. The same story applies across the board regarding battery life. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ does offer an IP69 rating, whereas the Realme 12 Pro+ gets a usable third telephoto periscope camera, which is unheard of in this price bracket. I'd suggest the Realme 12 Pro+ or the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ if you want a better camera setup. Those looking for a better or unique design should look at the Realme 12 Pro+, the Galaxy A55, or the Nothing Phone 2a.

So, should you buy the Poco F6 smartphone? In my opinion, the smartphone has so much potential to compete in the mid-range segment. However, we can not miss the minor limitations such as bloatware, camera performance, and basic design. On the other hand, it does provide an exceptional performance which swiftly manages tasks and extended gaming without any stutter. I personally enjoyed my experience with Poco F6 and it can give tough competition to other smartphones in the segment such as the Realme GT 6T, Inifnix GT 20 Pro, and others.

With the Poco F6, Xiaomi has stuck resolutely to the path it set out with previous models. Everything here is focused on attaining class-leading performance on a budget. On those two fronts, in particular, it’s a resounding success. The Poco F6 is faster than anything else you’ll find for this sort of money, or even £100 more. Meanwhile, it’s received a welcome price cut from the Poco F5. Also praiseworthy is the new 1.5K display, which is sharp, responsive, and colour-accurate. Battery life has taken a bit of a hit as a result though, at least when it comes to sustained or intensive usage. Elsewhere, the same old gripes keep me from an unequivocal recommendation. The design is a similar case of function over form, the camera set-up – while improved – is still well short of its rivals, and Xiaomi’s software leaves much to be desired. However, if your goal is to get the best performance possible for the least amount of money possible (gamers on a budget take note), the Poco F6 resoundingly hits that sweet spot

The Poco F6 may not be the real flagship killer you are looking for, but it gets pretty close and tries to specialize in certain aspects. For instance, the handset offers an excellent viewing experience, good speakers, unmatched performance in the segment, reliable, sustained performance and fast charging. In a way, the Poco F6 seems like a solid multimedia/gaming device on the cheap. Despite the omission of a 3.5mm jack, which many will miss. The absence of a proper proximity sensor may also annoy quite a bit of users. However, the mediocre battery life and okay-ish camera quality keep us from giving the device a higher score. It's just not the all-rounder that would appeal to the masses. As the dust settles, the Poco F6 will become a more appealing handset, but the current price doesn't make it an outright recommendation.

I wouldn’t say that this camera blows any other mid-range camera out of the water. However, that’s not to say that it’s bad. It’s a solid shooter that gives you some pretty nice results. The exposure and contrast can be a bit inconsistent, so that’s something you’ll need to keep in mind. However, the colors come out nicely and the camera produces some nice results in low light. You shouldn’t have any issues using this as your primary camera.

Impressive, right? Poco F6 comes across as slightly less colour-accurate than its Pro variant, but you know that only because there are sample photos to compare. Without the F6 Pro providing context, you'd struggle to see how this is a "non-Pro" variant that costs S$150 less. Also, the pixel-binning on its Sony sensor helps brighten up images where more detail is needed. We did wish it was as consistent as the Poco F6 Pro at shooting, though.

POCO somehow managed to cram all these features into a chassis that's lighter than last year, and the all-new 50MP camera at the back takes terrific photos in any situation — and you finally get 4K60 video. The software is a bit annoying at times, but on the whole, the F6 is easily POCO's best device to date, and one of the best mid-range phones you can buy at the moment.

The POCO F6 reaffirms POCO’s knack for delivering fantastic value, blending top-notch performance with a rich feature set at a great price. It’s not just a gaming beast; the POCO F6 shines across the board. The Sony IMX882 primary camera is a big step up, and the 6.67-inch AMOLED display is stunningly vibrant and crisp. Plus, the beefy 5,000 mAh battery easily gets you through a busy day, and the included 120 W charger is a real treat for quick top-ups. Sure, the lack of expandable storage and some bloatware in HyperOS are minor hiccups, but they hardly overshadow the overall package. When POCO exploded onto the smartphone scene in 2018, it redefined value with the iconic POCO F1 (review), setting a new benchmark for the price-to-performance ratio. Since then, the brand hasn’t quite delivered another shocker like the POCO F1.

It is a good upgrade to the Poco F5 in almost all aspects, the display, the cameras, charging, software, performance, everything. That being said I wish the cameras were a little better in terms of color processing though and also, the design, as I said, very basic! The Poco F6 blurs the line between the mid-range and flagship phones. But that is not really a new thing for the series, ever since the fan favorite Poco F1 we reviewed almost six years ago, the brand has managed to deliver on the "flagship-killer" formula again and again—even if it had to skip a year or two to get the right balance of performance and price. We were impressed by Poco's execution on the F5, which got 4.5 stars on nextpit's review last year. And while the Poco F6 doesn't pack the same consistent performance in games or excellent battery life, it more than compensates for that in performance, both in general apps and games, especially the latter.

F6 is another mid-range smartphone from POCO that is poised to be a hit. The phone has a lot of potential. It boasts good hardware (plenty of fast memory, a flagship chipset), an interesting design, excellent display, long battery life, and fast charging capabilities. It features a solid camera setup, stereo speakers, and well-optimized software. Will the POCO F6 rise to the pedestal and surpass other devices? It depends on many factors, and it’s hard to say definitively, but we are confident that the Poco F6 is a great phone that will win the hearts of many users. We don’t know the price at the time of writing this review, but it’s unlikely to be higher than $600. So, it’s not a cheap phone, but it’s very powerful with impressive cameras.

You can even get it for less via early bird offerings. The F6 with 12+512GB is available for PHP 21,199 or PHP 19,999 with a Shopee voucher. As for the lower configuration, it’s available for PHP 18,799, going as low as PHP 17,599 with a Shopee voucher as well. Wrapping up, I’m confident to say that the F6 indeed lived up to POCO’s reputation of offering budget-friendly, high-performing devices. This year’s iteration of the F-series lineup gave us design changes, improvements for performance, and overall value-for-money. While areas to improve in biometric recognition and my own personal software gripes were there, the pros outweigh the cons.
