Lenovo lanza un dispositivo de 15" que cumple con su deber estoicamente, pero que no puede sobresalir de verdad en ningún aspecto. La carcasa parece barata y no es particularmente estable, los huecos son desiguales. No enorgullece poseerlo. Los dispositivos de entrada son decepcionantes: Ni el teclado ni el touchpad nos satisfacen. Si bien pudimos trabajar bastante bien con las abarrotadas teclas, el teclado da una respuesta muy esponjosa. Un teclado tan malo rara vez se instala en un portátil. También contamos el disco duro Seagate como un negativo ya que, en la práctica, precisó demasiado tiempo para cargar.

Lenovo hace una buena labor con la temperatura. Los componentes van a sus límites normales de rendimiento a bajas temperaturas (Turbo usado y estable). El B50 siempre permanece relativamente fresco, y es excesivamente ruidoso bajo estrés. Por desgracia, el ventilador no se desactiva ni en periodos inactivos prolongados.

El B50 con el Radeon R5 no es adecuado para jugar. Los juegos actuales suelen ser jugables sólo a bajo detalle. La resolución mate Full HD no puede mostrar su belleza ni siquiera aunque la pantalla TN ofrezca un contraste viable y una iluminación homogénea. Sin embargo, por desgracia también muestra un tinte azulado visible (antes del calibrado). El TFT es virtualmente inútil fuera dado su bajo brillo, que se atenúa aún más en batería.

El B50 no tiene pues muchas ventajas, y ni siquiera su precio de casi 680 Euros resulta atractivo. La adecuabilidad limitada de juego y la pobre construcción (chasis, dispositivos de entrada) sencillamente no resultan atractivos a este precio.

Esto no sería así en una configuración de 350 Euros basada en el mismo chasis. Por ello, apuntamos a los contendientes multimedia con mejores dispositivos de entrada, y algunos con mejores pantallas y gráficas más potentes.  

Los primeros a nombrar son Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-571G (Core i5, GTX 850M) y Aspire E5-571G (Core i5, 840M). Este último no llega ni a los 600 Euros. Lo mismo es válido para el HP Pavilion 17-g054ng (AMD A-Series A10-8700P) con bastante más potencia de juego (R8 M365DX). El HP 355 G2 (A-Series A8-6410) no trae Full HD, pero viene con un rendimiento gráfico casi igual (bajo) por 350 Euros.
