Respecto al rendimiento, el potencial gaming de la MX150 es impresionante visto que consume un 40% menos energía que el Sabre 15 (GTX 1050) jugando, siendo un 40 - 45% más lento. Tanto las temperaturas como el ruido de ventilador son bastante menores, lo que ofrece una experiencia gaming respetable entre tarea y tarea de clase. Es realmente sorprendente ver un rendimiento a la par con portátiles GTX 860M o GTX 950M por parte de una GPU Pascal básica.
Nuestras quejas principales con el NP5852 no son tanto con su rendimiento sino con su precio y su chasis. Primero, el precio inicial de $800 se acerca bastante al del Sabre 15, Samsung Odyssey, o Pavilion 15 Power con gráfica GTX 1050 más veloz. Los compradores potenciales sóno tendrán que invertir unos $100 - $200 más para obtener un enorme aumento en potencia GPU si los juegos son una prioridad. En segundo lugar, el chasis es más bien grande para la GPU básica MX150. Las mencionadas alternativas no son mucho más grandes o gruesas que nuestro Sager y por ello un chasis más pequeño estilo Ultrabook habría sido más adecuado para la MX150. Emparejar la MX150 con un Intel clase U definitivamente resultará en un rendimiento gaming ligeramente inferior como han mostrado nuestras comparaciones frente al Aspire 5 A515, pero el extremo ahorro en peso y portabilidad seguramente superará las desventajas para la mayoría de jugones.
El Sager NP5852 es una máquina gaming casual de vuelta a clase genial. Espera, empero, un par de mesxes y el mercado de portátiles estará saturado con diseños más delgados y ligeros con la misma GPU MX150. El NP5852 sólo es recomendable si los precios caen por debajo de la actual cosecha de portátiles GTX 1050 asequibles.
