No nos resulta fácil sacar una conclusión definitiva sobre Microsoft Surface Laptop i7. El Intel Core i7-7660U es y sigue siendo un arma de doble filo. Por un lado, tenemos los resultados decepcionantes con el rendimiento Turbo, y parece que Microsoft no ha aprendido nada de los errores del pasado que hizo con el Surface Pro i7 (2017).
No se puede utilizar todo el rendimiento Turbo del Intel Core i7-7660U bajo carga continua. En términos de precio, el i7 cuesta 350 euros más que el i5-7200U.
Por otro lado, el primer inconveniente se cancela; que se sepa que el i7 no es lo único que contribuye al precio. También se debe tener en cuenta el SSD significativamente más rápido y la GPU Iris Plus Graphics 640, que está integrada en el Intel Core i7-7660U. Este es el momento y el lugar para criticar el lento SSD de Toshiba del modelo i5 y alabar el rápido SSD de Samsung del i7. La más potente Iris Plus Graphics 640 es, por supuesto, la mejor solución para aplicaciones con fuerte carga gráfica, aunque esto no convierte a Surface Laptop basado en i7 en un portátil para juegos.
Como es el caso con el modelo i5, a la variante i7 también le falta un puerto USB tipo C y un lector de tarjetas SD, incluso si estas cosas no son primordiales para todos los compradores. El material de superficie Alcántara tampoco juega un papel de toma de decisiones, aunque es un cambio agradable en comparación con las superficies de plástico habituales. No hay nada malo que decir de la calidad de construcción, y la carcasa también es de alta calidad. Deja una muy buena impresión general. La movilidad también se puede describir como muy buena, gracias a la larga duración de la batería. Con los portátiles Surface, Microsoft apunta a los estudiantes, que no deberían tener problemas para pasar un día en la universidad con el modelo i5, más asequible.
En conclusión, la pregunta inicial sigue abierta, sobre si es aconsejable comprar el Surface Laptop i7. Desde nuestro punto de vista, el único punto de crítica son las caídas de rendimiento constantemente mencionadas que ocurren después de unos minutos en el modo Turbo. A pesar de todo eso, el i7 sigue siendo un dispositivo más rápido con un mejor rendimiento de CPU y GPU, incluso durante las realentizaciones. Teniendo en cuenta el SSD Samsung más rápido, la decisión de comprar un Surface Laptop i7 parece absolutamente razonable.
