El Intel Core i7-12800H retocado amenaza la potencia del Apple M1 Max en el nuevo Razer Blade 15 (2022) Geekbench corre
The Intel Core i7-12800H processor has been spotted on Geekbench (via Benchleaks), with three new records giving a clearer idea of what the upcoming Alder Lake-P chip can produce in terms of single-core and multi-core performance. The same part turned up back in November in a Gigabyte Aorus 15 YE4 laptop, but this time around the i7-12800H appears in a 2022 Razer Blade 15 machine (RZ09-0421). The scores that have now been listed are considerably higher than those from the previous effort, to the point where comparing the Alder Lake chip against the Intel Core i7-11800H and AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX just seems unfair.
Indeed, it is unfair, at least in the multi-core performance, as those two just-mentioned processors are 8C/16T parts whereas the Intel Core i7-12800H is a 14C/20T unit. The average of the three new records leaves a single-core score of a massive 1,791 points and a multi-core score of 12,541 points. The table below shows the improvement from the last appearance (November) and the distance between the i7-12800H and the i7-11800H and Ryzen 9 5900HX (based on our average scores):
i7-12800H (December) | i7-12800H (November) | Intel Core i7-11800H | AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Single-core score | 1,791 points | 1,654 points | 1,566 points | 1,509 points |
Difference* | - | +8.28% | +14.37% | +18.69% |
Multi-core score | 12,541 points | 9,618 points | 8,678 points | 8,109 points |
Difference* | - | +30.39% | +44.51% | +54.66% |

Obviously, it’s worth mentioning again that the Alder Lake processor has a distinct core-count advantage over its predecessor and Ryzen rival, but the single-core improvements are definitely worth noting, especially between the December and November runs. The i7-12800H reached a peak frequency of 3,690 MHz in the December Geekbench appearances and was aided by 32 GB of DDR5 RAM.
It’s another imbalanced fight comparing the 14C/20T Intel Core i7-12800H against the 10C/10T Apple M1 Max processor found in the 2021 MacBook Pro laptops, but it is still an interesting comparison to make. Our Geekbench 5.4 average scores (based on two tests) for the M1 Max were 1,773 points for the single-core test and 12,636 points for the multi-core run. While the Apple Silicon retains a very small advantage in the multi-core discipline (+0.76%), the i7-12800H returns the favor in single-core performance with a +1.02% lead.
i7-12800H (December) | Apple M1 Max | |

Single (average) | 1,791 points | 1,773 points |
Multi (average) | 12,541 points | 12,636 points |
In terms of synthetic benchmark leaks so far, it’s looking like there are parts in the mobile side of Alder Lake that are going to be as impressive as some of the SKUs in the desktop side have been.
