El desarrollo de Red Faction Guerilla introduce un nuevo sandbox de destrucción con efectos físicos sorprendentes
Radiangames, a studio founded by Red Faction: Guerilla's lead tech artist recently announced Instruments of Destruction, a physics sandbox title with destruction tech that looks to be a natural evolution of the remarkable effects Volition debuted back in 2009.
Unlike Red Faction, however, Instruments of Destruction, looks to be an avowedly indie title. The miniature-esque art direction and focus on the destruction element mean we're looking at something that's more a sandbox toy akin to 2015's Besiege.
Regardless of its scope, Instruments of Destruction looks marvelous in motion. We're particularly impressed by the degree of small-scale debris your wrecking machines can create. While Red Faction: Guerilla featured a fully-destructible map, hardware limitations meant that debris tended to be on the chunkier side.
Instruments of Destruction is set to hit Steam Early Access by Q4 2021. It'll be interesting to see how its destruction effects stack up to DICE has planned for its upcoming next-gen Battlefield game.
