MagicX XU Mini M: New pocket-sized retro gaming handheld revealed with dual hall effect joysticks to rival Anbernic RG28XX and Miyoo A30
It seems that 2.8-inch gaming handhelds are returning in earnest, having been usurped in recent years by 3.5-inch models instead. While 3.5-inch displays still remain popular, Anbernic is preparing to release the RG28XX, pricing and a release date for which we have covered separately. Similarly, Miyoo has confirmed specifications for the A30 ahead of its reputed release.
Now, @forthenextlive has shared details about the MagicX XU Mini M, a gaming handheld produced by the manufacturer of the MagicX XU10 (curr. $69.99 on Amazon). For context, the MagicX XU10 has ties with Powkiddy, another well-known retro gaming handheld manufacturer. As the screenshot below shows, the MagicX XU Mini M will feature a 2.8-inch IPS display that resolves at 640 x 480 pixels, just like the Anbernic RG28XX and Miyoo A30.
Supposedly, the MagicX XU Mini M will measure 129 x 64 x 18 mm too, which would make it marginally larger than its peers. However, the gaming handheld will ship with dual hall effect joysticks, unlike either the Anbernic RG28XX or Miyoo A30. The MagicX XU Mini M will be available next month without Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately, many details remain unknown for now, including launch pricing.
