Análisis del portátil Lenovo V14 Gen 2: Refrigeración pasiva, asequible y ampliable

Un Intel Pentium sin ventilador.

El Lenovo V14 G2 sólo cuesta 329 dólares (256 GB), está equipado con refrigeración pasiva y ofrece un buen teclado y varias opciones de ampliación. Con su procesador Intel Pentium Silver N6000 de cuatro núcleos, es suficiente para las tareas ofimáticas. Sin embargo, el uso de un monitor externo podría ser prioritario.

Con el V14 Gen 2, Lenovo presenta un portátil de oficina de precio razonable dirigido directamente al segmento básico. En nuestro análisis, explicamos los pros y los contras de un portátil con refrigeración pasiva y un procesador Intel de cuatro núcleos Pentium Silver N6000.

Es muy similar al también asequible IdeaPad 3 14IIL05. Los 8 GB de RAM se pueden ampliar hasta 16 GB y se pueden instalar dos SSD (M.2-2280 + 2,5 pulgadas). La pantalla FullHD de nuestro modelo usa la anticuada tecnología TN y aunque hay modelos IPS disponibles (según la hoja de especificaciones), en realidad son muy difíciles de conseguir.

En cuanto al precio, el portátil cuesta unos 329 dólares para el modelo de 256 GB. Alternativamente, el V14 G2 viene con CPUs más potentes como el Core i5-1135G7 o también un Ryzen 5 5500U procesador hexa-core que ya hemos revisado en el más grande Lenovo V15 Gen 2. La competencia directa la encontramos en el Acer Swift 1 y el Asus ExpertBook L1.

Carcasa y características: RAM ampliable y Gigabit Ethernet

En negro, el Lenovo V14 demuestra ser robusto con una superficie antideslizante, pero es un poco un imán para las huellas. La tapa de la pantalla podría ser algo más rígida y la unidad base sólo se puede girar un poco. Las bisagras son estrechas y no permiten abrir el dispositivo con una mano, pero se abre en un ángulo de 180°.

El compacto portátil de 14 pulgadas, con una relación pantalla/cuerpo del 88 %, pesa sólo 1,32 kg, frente a los 1,6 kg que afirma el fabricante. El módulo WiFi, la batería, la RAM (1 ranura) y el SSD M.2 se pueden intercambiar y, además, se puede instalar un SSD de 2,5 pulgadas. Se ha omitido el lector de tarjetas SD del predecesor, pero se mantienen Gigabit RJ45 y un único puerto USB-A 2.0. El otro puerto USB-A se ha sustituido por uno USB-C.

El chip WiFi 5 de Realtek es bastante lento y sólo envía datos a unos 243 MB/s cuando los chips WiFi 6E pueden hacerlo mucho más rápido.

Dispositivos de entrada: Un sólido teclado Lenovo con un recorrido medio de las teclas

El teclado utilizado aquí es similar al resistente a salpicaduras que se encuentra en el IdeaPad 3 14. Al igual que los ThinkPads actuales de Lenovo, las silenciosas teclas no retroiluminadas de 16 x 16 mm tienen un desplazamiento medio de ~1,5 mm. La experiencia de mecanografiado es asombrosamente buena, el punto de presión es claro y la unidad de teclado carece de flexión.

La superficie de plástico del pequeño touchpad es suave al tacto, pero hay que aplicar una presión firme a los botones de clic integrados, lo que significa que se registran inusualmente tarde.

La pantalla mate FullHD de 14 pulgadas y formato 16:9 utiliza la anticuada tecnología TN. Esto quiere decir que el contenido mostrado depende mucho del ángulo de visión y que los colores son débiles, con una cobertura del 55% del espacio de color sRGB. Con 231 cd/m², no sólo el brillo es bastante bajo, sino también el contraste, que se sitúa en 631:1. Con 10,4, los valores Delta E difieren mucho y las imágenes tienen un tinte muy azulado. Por tanto, no se puede realizar ningún tipo de tratamiento de la imagen, pero al menos no hay parpadeo PWM.

En resumen, el V14 Gen 2 debería utilizarse principalmente como un PC fijo conectado a una pantalla externa. Como alternativa, el IdeaPad 3 o el Acer Swift 1 ya que ambos portátiles Asus de nuestra tabla comparativa también usan pantallas TN. Según la hoja de especificaciones, hay disponible un IPS más brillante pero, en realidad, son extremadamente difíciles de conseguir.

Tiempos de respuesta del display

Los tiempos de respuesta del display muestran lo rápido que puede cambiar la pantalla de un color al siguiente. Tiempos lentos de respuesta pueden llevar a imágenes persistentes alrededor de objetos en movimiento o a displays borrosos. Particularmente los aficionados a los juegos 3D frenéticos deberían usar una pantalla con tiempos de respuesta rápidos.

La pantalla mostró buenos tiempos de respuesta en nuestros tests pero podría ser demasiado lenta para los jugones competitivos.

Eso quiere decir que el tiempo de respuesta es peor que la media (32.8 ms) de todos los dispositivos testados.

Parpadeo de Pantalla / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Para atenuar el brillo de pantalla algunos portátiles están encendiendo y apagando la retroiluminación muy rápidamente. Esto se hace a una frecuencia que no debiera detectarse a simple vista. Si la frecuencia es demasiado lenta, la gente sensible podría experimentar problemas visuales, dolores de cabeza e incluso ver parpadeos.

Comparación: 53 % de todos los dispositivos testados no usaron PWM para atenuar el display. Si se usó, medimos una media de 8705 (mínimo: 5 - máxmo: 343500) Hz.

En exteriores, a pesar de la superficie mate de la pantalla, el contenido sólo es claramente legible a la sombra. El brillo medio de 231 cd/m² es simplemente insuficiente.

Típico de los paneles TN, la estabilidad del ángulo de visión es muy pobre y estropea la experiencia del usuario en casi todos los casos de uso cotidiano. Por tanto, recomendamos principalmente usar el portátil con un monitor externo.

Rendimiento: La CPU de cuatro núcleos Pentium Silver es suficiente para las tareas ofimáticas

El Lenovo V14 Gen 2 está pensado para tareas ofimáticas y navegar por Internet. La memoria RAM DDR4 de 8 GB se puede cambiar por un módulo de 16 GB y es el máximo que el procesador Intel Pentium Silver N6000 incorporado. Además, no es posible una configuración de doble canal ya que sólo hay una ranura de RAM y, al mismo tiempo, ninguna parte de la RAM está soldada.

El procesador Intel UHD Graphics (32 UEs) también sufre por este motivo. El modelo Core-i7 puede equiparse con un GeForce MX350. Los modelos con CPU Intel Core hasta uni7-1135G7y procesadores AMD hastaRyzen 5 5500Uhexa-core, pueden equiparse con hasta 40 GB de RAM y se puede activar el modo de doble canal.

Condiciones de la prueba

Los tres modos de rendimiento de Windows no influyen en los límites de rendimiento de la CPU de 16 vatios PL2 y 7 vatios PL1. Lo mismo ocurre en el modo batería. Sin embargo, para nuestros benchmarks, elegimos el modo de rendimiento y para la prueba de duración de la batería WiFi, el modo equilibrado.

Procesador

Intel Pentium Silver N6000 de Intel es una CPU económica de cuatro núcleos con un TDP de 6 vatios para portátiles económicos. El rendimiento multinúcleo está más o menos al mismo nivel que un i5 6300Uy comparable al N6000 del Acer Swift 1. El doble núcleoCeleron 6305que se encuentra en elIdeaPad 3es considerablemente más lento.

Ya hemos analizado elRyzen 5 5500Uque actualmente se encuentra en el Lenovo V15 Gen 2que tiene más de cuatro veces el rendimiento multi-core. ElCore i5-1135G7que también está disponible, es de media 2,5 veces más rápido. Ambas alternativas también están por delante del Pentium Silver en el área del rendimiento mononúcleo.

El Toshiba / Kioxia BG4 de 512 GB es una SSD PCIe 3.0 en el pequeño formato M.2 2242. También se puede usar un SSD M.2 2280 y un disco duro de 2,5 pulgadas, pero es necesaria la compra de un cable conector adicional a la placa base.

Las tasas de transferencia son medias, con valores 4K bajos y tras unos minutos, el SSD se ralentiza a la mitad de velocidad debido al sobrecalentamiento. Sin embargo, esto sólo se nota realmente en el uso diario al copiar grandes cantidades de datos con muchos archivos pequeños.
