La GeForce RTX 2060 es una alternativa económica a las costosas GPUs RTX. La tarjeta de video de muestra que recibimos de MSI tiene un diseño que no es de referencia. Dado que Nvidia ha mejorado su juego en lo que respecta a sus GPU de referencia, los socios de la placa también tienen que idear nuevas funciones, como la mejora de la gestión de la energía y la iluminación RGB, para ganarse a los compradores. Nuestra muestra de revisión de MSI se conoce como RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G, y parece más masiva que el modelo de referencia debido a sus grandes refrigeradores. En total, esta GPU requiere 2,5 ranuras. Los usuarios no pueden conectar dos GPU al mismo tiempo, ya que las tarjetas RTX 2060 no son compatibles con la tecnología NVLink. Los usuarios necesitarán un RTX 2080 o superior para habilitar SLI.

En términos de conectividad, el MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G ofrece tres conectores DisplayPort 1.4 y un puerto HDMI 2.0b. La GPU requiere un conector de alimentación de 8 pines.

El banco de pruebas - Basado en el Ryzen 7 2700X

Nuestro banco de pruebas se basa en una plataforma AMD actual. El Gigabyte X470 Aorus Gaming 7 Wi-Fi sirve como placa base. La CPU, conocida como AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, ofrece un gran rendimiento. El sistema es enfriado por un enfriador de agua todo en uno de Be Quiet (Silent Loop 280mm). Los 16 GB de 3400 MHz RAM provienen de G-Skill. El Acer Predator XB321HK no representa un cuello de botella, gracias a su resolución de 4K. Estamos muy agradecidos a AMD por habernos proporcionado el sistema antes mencionado.

Los relojes con núcleo del MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G

La GPU de MSI ofrece el mismo reloj base que el modelo de referencia de Nvidia. Ambas tarjetas gráficas tienen un reloj base de 1365 MHz. Sin embargo, cuando se trata del reloj de empuje, hay alguna diferencia. El MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G viene con un reloj de aumento más alto de 1830 MHz, mientras que el modelo de referencia tiene un reloj de aumento de 1680 MHz. La VRAM de ambas GPUs está sincronizada a 1750 MHz, por lo que tienen el mismo ancho de banda de memoria de 336 GB/s. La cantidad de VRAM es bastante decepcionante, porque 6 GB no es muy seguro para el futuro.

Una desventaja de un reloj de aumento más alto es un TDP más alto. Según Nvidia, la RTX 2060 tiene un TDP de 160 vatios. Sin embargo, nuestra tarjeta de muestra consume unos 30 vatios más bajo carga.

Benchmarks sintéticos

En las pruebas comparativas sintéticas, el MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G es tan eficaz como la GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition. En general, lo hace bastante bien en comparación con los competidores de Pascal. El RTX 2060 sólo es superado definitivamente por el GTX 1080. En comparación con las GPUs AMD, el RTX 2060 se encuentra aproximadamente al mismo nivel que el Radeon Vega 56. Desafortunadamente, no tuvimos la oportunidad de revisar esta GPU AMD, por lo que no se encuentra en nuestra base de datos.

Comparado con los competidores de AMD (RX Vega 64), el MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G es superado a fondo en las pruebas de referencia sintéticas. Sin embargo, en las pruebas de juego, el RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G suele superar al AMD Radeon RX Vega 64.  El RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G puede ejecutar todas las baldosas actuales en 1080p y 1440p. En "Metro Exodus", la frecuencia de imagen media cae por debajo de 60 FPS en configuraciones ultra a 1080p. Si decide activar el trazado de rayos, obtendrá frecuencias de imagen aún más bajas.

Aquellos que prefieren jugar en 4K deben obtener un RTX 2070 o un AMD Radeon VII.

Utilizamos el videojuego conocido como "The Witcher 3" para examinar el rendimiento de la tarjeta gráfica bajo carga. Para ello, registramos tanto la frecuencia de cuadro como el tiempo de cuadro. Ninguno de los gráficos contiene fluctuaciones inusuales. Esto demuestra que el sistema de refrigeración está haciendo muy bien su trabajo.

Al analizar las emisiones del MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G, nos centramos principalmente en el consumo de energía y el rendimiento térmico. Medimos el consumo de energía tanto con un objetivo de potencia por defecto como con un objetivo de potencia incrementada (PT). Cuando estaba inactivo, el sistema funcionaba sin problemas y consumía una media de 75 vatios. Durante nuestra prueba de esfuerzo, que realizamos ejecutando FurMark para gravar realmente la GPU, el consumo medio de energía fue de 295 vatios. El consumo máximo de energía fue de 330 vatios. Después de aumentar el PT al 105%, el consumo medio de energía ascendió a 305 vatios. Cuando jugamos, vimos un consumo de energía promedio de 289 vatios, lo que es un resultado aceptable en vista del rendimiento. Dicho esto, el sistema basado en la GeForce GTX 1070 tenía un consumo de 243 vatios.

No observamos ninguna fluctuación significativa en la temperatura cuando el límite de potencia se elevó en un 5%. En general, el sistema de refrigeración, que consta de dos ventiladores axiales, es muy bueno y silencioso. Bajo carga, los usuarios sólo pueden oír un ligero zumbido de los dos ventiladores. El MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G se mantiene comparativamente frío bajo carga. Aquí se midió una temperatura máxima de 66 °C (150,8 °F).

Comparado con el modelo Founders Edition de Nvidia, el MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G tiene un TDP más alto (190 vatios).

Overclocking - El límite de potencia se interpone en el camino del overclocking

Como mencionamos en la sección de Emisiones, el objetivo de potencia del MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G se puede aumentar hasta un 105%. Esto hace que el TDP máximo alcance los 200 vatios. Durante el overclocking, pudimos aumentar la frecuencia del núcleo a 80 - 100 MHz. El overclock de 80 MHz proporciona un grado mucho mayor de estabilidad del sistema. El sistema fue capaz de completar el benchmark 3DMark 11 con un overclock de 100 MHz, pero se estrelló en Fire Strike.

El VRAM puede ser fácilmente overclocked. Nuestro sistema era estable incluso a una frecuencia de reloj efectiva de 8,5 GHz. Esto es 1500 MHz más alto que la frecuencia de reloj predeterminada.

Dependiendo de la aplicación, el overclocking puede aumentar el rendimiento entre un 3 y un 7%. Sin embargo, los usuarios no pueden obtener más rendimiento de esta GPU sin realizar más ajustes en el objetivo de potencia. Dicho esto, todavía hay mucho espacio para el overclocking debido a la solución de refrigeración muy capaz.

La MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G es una moderna GPU basada en Turing que admite funciones como el trazado de rayos y DLSS. Las nuevas tarjetas gráficas basadas en Turing (GTX 1660 y GTX 1660 Ti) no disponen de estas características. Esto es lo que distingue a la serie RTX de la serie GTX.

Objetivamente, la GeForce RTX 2060 ofrece suficiente rendimiento para juegos de 1080p y 1440p. Sin embargo, no puede manejar 4K en absoluto. Y ni siquiera hay que culpar a la falta de VRAM, la GPU simplemente no es lo suficientemente potente para jugar en tales resoluciones. Hablando de VRAM, 6 GB no es suficiente, incluso a resoluciones más bajas, especialmente si quieres jugar con los ajustes más altos. Sin embargo, "Call of Duty Black Ops 4" - el VRAM-hog que es - todavía logra alcanzar 133 FPS a 1080p con el RTX 2060 en los ajustes más altos. El panorama es muy diferente en "Metro Exodus". Aquí, la GPU no puede alcanzar los 60 FPS estables ni siquiera a 1080p.

El MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G intenta atraer a los clientes con un objetivo de mayor potencia, una solución de refrigeración patentada e iluminación RGB. Las posibilidades son buenas, gracias a su gran calidad de construcción y rendimiento.

Pero, ¿a quién va dirigida esta tarjeta gráfica? Esta pregunta no es fácil de responder en este momento. Aquellos que decidan limitar su presupuesto a 400 euros (448 dólares) se toparán con el RTX 2060. El equipo de Red no tiene nada que ofrecer en este rango de precios en este momento. El AMD Radeon VII es significativamente más caro y el AMD Radeon RX 590 es significativamente más barato que nuestro MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6G. Esto deja sólo al mercado de tarjetas gráficas usadas para explorar dónde hay bastantes GPUs AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 dando tumbos. Funcionan tan bien como la GeForce RTX 2060, pero tienen un consumo de energía mucho mayor, que no es algo que algunas personas estén dispuestas a soportar.

La GeForce RTX 2060 es la única solución posible en este momento. Esto debería cambiar en la segunda mitad del año, cuando AMD publique una nueva cosecha de sus GPUs. En la actualidad, aquellos que no pueden permitirse la GeForce RTX 2070 o algunos de sus hermanos más caros no se sentirán decepcionados si deciden adquirir una GeForce RTX 2060.
