Veredicto: Potencial de rescate siempre que haya suficientes existencias al precio adecuado

Desde conectores que se funden volviendo a asomar la cabeza hasta chips defectuosos a los que les falta hardware, pasando por suministros anémicos y precios inflados debido a la reventa, el lanzamiento de la serie RTX 50 ha sido de todo menos estelar. No obstante, la llegada de la RTX 5070 brinda una oportunidad más a Nvidia para corregir el rumbo.

Los planes de Nvidia para una RTX 5060 o una RTX 5050 más adelante no están claros en este momento, pero la RTX 5070 es actualmente la puerta de entrada a todo lo que Blackwell pretende ofrecer.

En cuanto al rendimiento, la RTX 5070 consigue superar a la RTX 4070 Ti en pruebas sintéticas a pesar de una deficiencia del 20% en núcleos CUDA.

Los juegos, sin embargo, son una bolsa mixta. Aunque hay títulos que favorecen las mejoras de memoria de la RTX 5070, la RTX 4070 Ti tiende a tener una ventaja minúscula en general.

El verdadero golpe de efecto, sin embargo, es el soporte para la generación de fotogramas múltiples DLSS 4. Las audaces afirmaciones de Nvidia de un rendimiento comparable al de la RTX 4090 tienen algo de verdad, pero esto viene con un gran asterisco.

Seamos sinceros. Una GPU Blackwell coja nunca podrá igualar el rendimiento bruto de un troquel Ada casi completo. Dicho esto, la RTX 5070 puede hacer un buen uso del MFG en el lamentable número de juegos que lo soportan, a pesar de los problemas de latencia.

Aunque se trata de una tarjeta de nivel básico, la RTX 5070 FE no decepciona cuando se trata de lo básico. Su calidad de construcción es de primera, las emisiones están en gran medida bajo control, salvo por los ventiladores ocasionalmente ruidosos, y las ganancias de eficiencia energética en comparación con las mejores ofertas de Nvidia y AMD son bastante palpables.

Sin embargo, no será pan comido para Nvidia con los inminentes lanzamientos de la RDNA 4 Radeon RX 9070 XT y la RX 9070, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que la RX 9070 también tiene un precio de 549 dólares. Esto resulta especialmente preocupante si se tiene en cuenta que la RTX 5070 ofrece sólo 12 GB de VRAM, que palidecen en comparación con los 16 GB que ofrece la competencia.

Desde un punto de vista puramente de rendimiento, la RTX 5070 no debería tener reparos en encontrar un buen número de jugadores que necesiten principalmente una GPU Ultra capaz a 1080p o 1440p.

De cerca con la RTX 5070 Founders Edition

La RTX 5070 FE se basa exactamente en el mismo lenguaje de diseño que las demás tarjetas FE de la serie RTX 50. Con unas dimensiones de 24,5 x 10 x 4 cm y un peso de apenas 1,1 kg, la RTX 5070 FE es mucho más compacta que las RTX 5090 FE y RTX 5080 FE, que ya presentaban un factor de forma reducido.

La GPU ofrece un conjunto de 3 salidas DisplayPort 2.1b compatibles con UHBR20 y una única salida HDMI 2.1b, que ahora son estándar en la generación Blackwell.

A pesar de ser una GPU de 250 W, la RTX 5070 FE hace uso del nuevo conector de alimentación 12-2x6.

No debería tener problemas para utilizar los cables 12VHPWR existentes de las fuentes de alimentación ATX 3.x, pero tenga en cuenta que los conectores en ángulo recto no encajarán en el hueco en ángulo del extremo de la GPU.

La RTX 5070 FE es capaz de acelerar hasta 2.512 MHz, pero es posible alcanzar frecuencias de reloj superiores en función de la potencia disponible y del margen térmico.

Benchmarks sintéticos: Un poco más rápida que la RTX 4070 Ti

La RTX 5070 FE consigue superar ligeramente a la Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Master en un 4% en las pruebas comparativas sintéticas acumuladas a pesar de contar con un 20% menos de núcleos CUDA. La MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G Ventus 3X OC supera a la RTX 5070 FE en un significativo 21%.

Por otro lado, el mayor número de núcleos de la RTX 4070 Ti le otorga una ventaja similar en pruebas específicas como 3DMark Port Royal, Steel Nomad, y Time Spy Graphics.

En las pruebas de referencia Unigine, la RTX 5070 FE obtiene mejores resultados que la RTX 4070 Ti, con hasta un 12% y un 7% de ventaja en las pruebas Unigine Valley Extreme HD y Superposition 8K Optimized, respectivamente.

Rendimiento del trazado de rayos

La RTX 5070 FE se ve llevada al límite cuando maneja tareas de trazado de rayos. Los 12 GB de VRAM GDDR7 demuestran ser anémicos para 2025, ya que Indiana Jones y el Gran Círculo simplemente se estrellaría contra el escritorio incluso con el trazado de trayectorias mínimo activado a pesar del DLSS y la asistencia de generación de fotogramas.

Star Wars Outlaws y Black Myth: Wukong pueden ofrecer velocidades de fotogramas jugables a 1440p y 4K con algo de ayuda en el escalado gracias a las técnicas DLSS, de generación de fotogramas y de reconstrucción de rayos.

Alan Wake 2 se queda corto en los ajustes de trazado de rayos 4K High, pero la adición de DLSS y generación de fotogramas puede conseguir velocidades de fotogramas decentes a 4K.

Del mismo modo, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty puede ser difícil de jugar en 4K nativo Ray tracing Ultra preset con la RTX 5070 FE, aunque la tarjeta puede manejar 1080p nativo ray tracing bastante bien.

Generación de fotogramas múltiples DLSS 4

La generación Blackwell ve el debut de DLSS 4, que utiliza un nuevo modelo de transformador que supuestamente ofrece una mayor fidelidad visual en comparación con la red neuronal convencional (CNN) que estuvo en boga hasta DLSS 3.

Aunque DLSS 4 llegará a todas las GPU RTX, incluidas las que se remontan a la generación Turing, sólo las tarjetas Blackwell son compatibles con la generación multiframe (MFG).

La RTX 5070 FE se beneficia enormemente de DLSS 4 MFG en los títulos compatibles. Por ejemplo, en Alan Wake 2, la RTX 5070 FE consigue una media de 90 fps a 4K con MFG 4x y ajustes de trazado de rayos Ultra, lo que la acerca bastante a los 108 fps de media de la RTX 4090 con generación de fotogramas estándar en el preajuste de trazado de rayos Alto.

EnStar Wars Outlaws, la RTX 5070 FE alcanza una media de 87 fps en los ajustes de trazado de rayos 4K Ultra con MFG 4x, acercándose a los 90 fps de media de la RTX 4090 con generación de fotogramas convencional.

Aunque la RTX 5070 no está a la altura de una RTX 4090 en términos de potencia pura, la generación de fotogramas múltiples sí ayuda a ofrecer una jugabilidad más fluida en ajustes exigentes por un precio más bajo.

Es posible añadir la funcionalidad MFG a los títulos compatibles a través de la aplicación de Nvidia, aunque los desarrolladores aún no la hayan implementado en el juego.

Emisiones: Temperaturas superficiales relativamente bajas pero elevado ruido del ventilador bajo carga

Al tratarse de una tarjeta Founders Edition, la RTX 5070 FE luce el mismo refrigerador que sus primas mayores, pero sin material de interfaz térmica de metal líquido.

Las rejillas de ventilación traseras son sutilmente angulares para una ventilación eficaz. Dado que el aire caliente se dirige hacia la parte superior del chasis, se recomienda colocar el radiador hacia la parte superior de la caja para quienes utilicen un disipador todo en uno.

Prueba de esfuerzo

La RTX 5070 FE alcanza unos relojes máximos de 2.700 MHz consumiendo 252 W cuando se somete a una carga FurMark a 1.280 x 720 sin AA.

Sin embargo, esta frecuencia no se mantiene durante mucho tiempo, y los relojes medios se acercan a la marca de los 2.500 MHz a 250 W con unas temperaturas medias del núcleo de 78,4 °C.

El estrés con Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty a 1080p Ultra ve a la RTX 5070 FE alcanzar aumentos de hasta 2.512 MHz a 209 W

Los relojes medios durante este estrés vuelven a rondar los 2.500 MHz, pero el consumo de energía baja a 197 W con temperaturas medias del núcleo de 69 °C.

Aumentar el objetivo de potencia al 110% da como resultado un mayor consumo de energía y temperaturas del núcleo sin ningún aumento perceptible de la frecuencia de la GPU.

Dicho esto, el sistema de refrigeración de la RTX 5070 FE hace un buen trabajo al ofrecer velocidades de fotogramas sostenidas sin problemas de ralentización, como se ve en los gráficos de Cyberpunk 2077 1080p y 4K Ultra que aparecen a continuación.

El diseño compacto de la tarjeta hace que los ventiladores tengan que trabajar más a veces en función de la carga, lo que puede provocar altos niveles de ruido.

Registramos un nivel de presión sonora (SPL) de 46,52 db(A) al estresarnos con FurMark a 1.280 x 720 sin AA con un objetivo de potencia del 100%. Aumentando el objetivo de potencia al 110% se obtiene un SPL significativamente superior de 53,10 dB(A).

Dicho esto, es poco probable que la mayoría de las cargas de trabajo de juegos lleven a los ventiladores a sus límites. Por ejemplo, observamos unos niveles de ruido bastante nominales de 43,80 dB(A) y 45,08 dB(A) al estresarnos con Cyberpunk 2077 a 1080p Ultra en los objetivos de potencia del 100% y el 110%, respectivamente.

La RTX 5070 FE consume un 12% menos de energía que la Aorus RTX 4070 Ti Master en FurMark. El consumo de energía al ejecutar Cyberpunk 2077 y The Witcher 3 también muestran tendencias similares.

La GPU GB205 también iguala a la RTX 5090 y a la RX 7900 XT en eficiencia energética mientras juega a Cyberpunk 2077.

En Witcher 3, la RTX 5070 FE alcanza el nivel de eficiencia de la RTX 4090 y es un 8% y un 19% más eficiente que la RTX 4070 Ti Master y la RX 7900 XT, respectivamente.
