La versión para portátiles del GTX 1660 Ti es entre un 10 y un 20 % más lenta debido a un menor TDP.
El chip TU116 y otras GPU basadas en Turing se producen utilizando el proceso de fabricación de 12 nm. Sin embargo, la GeForce GTX 1660 Ti no ofrece las últimas funciones como DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) y el trazado de rayos en tiempo real. Emisiones de la GeForce GTX 1660 Ti de Zotac
Tanto la GeForce GTX 1660 Ti como la GeForce GTX 1060 tienen la misma TDP de 120 vatios. Sin embargo, la GeForce GTX 1660 Ti es considerablemente más rápida que la GTX 1060, lo que significa que la GPU de Zotac es más eficiente energéticamente.
Cuando está inactivo, el sistema consume 68 vatios. Durante nuestra prueba de esfuerzo, el consumo medio de energía alcanzó los 233 vatios y el consumo máximo de energía fue de 250 vatios. Sin embargo, estas cifras no pueden atribuirse únicamente a la GPU. El límite de potencia de la GeForce GTX 1660 Ti de Zotac se puede aumentar hasta en un 10%. Esto conduce a un aumento proporcional del consumo de energía. Con el objetivo de potencia (PT) aumentado al 110%, el consumo medio de potencia asciende a 247 vatios.
Utilizamos "The Witcher 3" para medir el consumo de energía durante el juego. Aquí vemos un consumo de energía de 235 vatios, que es comparable al que vimos durante la prueba de esfuerzo (PT 100%). La GeForce GTX 1660 Ti de Zotac consume la menor cantidad de energía entre las GPUs de nuestra tabla comparativa. Con 243 vatios, la GeForce GTX 1070 está muy cerca. Sin embargo, esa GPU fue evaluada con un procesador más eficiente desde el punto de vista energético.
No observamos ningún problema térmico. Las temperaturas alcanzaron los 74 °C (~165,2 °F) durante nuestra prueba de esfuerzo (objetivo de potencia: 110%). Durante el uso normal, las temperaturas alcanzaron su punto máximo a 72 °C (~161,6 °F) (objetivo de potencia: 100%). Los ventiladores se extienden a 1550 RPM y por lo tanto apenas eran audibles. La tarjeta gráfica no produce ruidos anormales como, por ejemplo, el quejido de la bobina.

Overclocking - 5 a 7% máximo
Se puede sacar un poco más de rendimiento de la GPU mediante el overclocking. Para lograr un mayor potencial de overclocking, aumentamos el límite de potencia del 100 al 110%. Al hacerlo, el TDP aumenta hasta 132 vatios.
Sólo pudimos aumentar el reloj del núcleo en 100 MHz y la frecuencia de la memoria en 800 MHz. Esto condujo a un ancho de banda de memoria significativamente mayor de 326,4 GB/s y a un reloj de realce máximo de hasta 1870 MHz.
Podemos ver los resultados del overclocking manual reflejados en los puntos de referencia. En este caso, la GPU es entre un 5 y un 7% más rápida que en el modo estándar.
Este resultado es bastante bueno, dado que la GeForce GTX 1660 Ti de Zotac no dispone de un overclock de fábrica. El objetivo de potencia máxima tiene mucho que ver con el potencial de overclocking que puede ofrecer una GPU, por lo que muchos socios de la placa optan por personalizarlo. Dicho esto, si la GTX 1660 Ti se fabricara con overclocking de fábrica, seguramente tendría mucho menos potencial de overclocking.

Veredicto: una buena GPU de nivel medio
Tras el lanzamiento de las GPUs basadas en Turing, las tarjetas gráficas basadas en Pascal empiezan a agotarse. La Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti es una tarjeta de vídeo basada en Turing sin Raytracing ni núcleos tensores. La GTX 1660 Ti tampoco es compatible con DLSS, porque aquí es donde Nvidia decidió trazar la línea entre las series GTX y RTX. Recibimos una GPU de muestra de nuestro socio Zotac, porque Nvidia no produce su propia versión de la GPU bajo su marca Founders Edition.
En el momento de publicar esta reseña, la GTX 1660 Ti se vende al por menor por 280 euros (314 dólares) en tiendas online, lo que significa que cuesta casi lo mismo que la GeForce GTX 1070, si la puedes encontrar en stock. Por supuesto, estamos hablando de nuevas GPUs, no de GPUs de segunda mano, que se pueden obtener a precios muy bajos en eBay y otros sitios web similares.
En términos de rendimiento, la GeForce GTX 1660 Ti de Zotac se sitúa entre la GTX 1060 y la GTX 1070. La GTX 1660 Ti de 6 GB es superada por la GTX 1070. Sin embargo, la GTX 1660 Ti sigue siendo una buena GPU para juegos de 1080p, ya que 6 GB de VRAM siguen siendo suficientes para tales resoluciones.
Entre las GPUs inferiores a 300 euros (336 dólares), la Zotac GeForce GTX 1660 Ti ofrece un gran rendimiento en los juegos y actualmente no tiene ninguna competencia real.
Cuando se trata de eficiencia energética, la GTX 1660 Ti tiene una ventaja sobre la GTX 1070. Esta es la razón por la que la GTX 1660 Ti no es una opción tan mala para aquellos que buscan una GPU de menos de 300 euros (336 dólares). Los precios de las ofertas de AMD como la RX 580, RX 590 y la Vega 56 se han reducido considerablemente, y en la actualidad la RX 580 y la RX 590 cuestan menos que la GTX 1660 Ti. Sin embargo, estas dos tarjetas de vídeo RX no son tan rápidas como la GTX 1660 Ti. La Radeon RX Vega 56 puede superar a la GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, pero la Vega 56 consume mucha más energía.
Podemos recomendar la compra de una GeForce GTX 1660 Ti si la puedes comprar por menos de 300 euros (336 dólares). Aquellos que estén dispuestos a desembolsar más de 300 euros (336 dólares) estarán mucho mejor si consiguen un RTX 2060, ya que es un 20-25% más rápido que el GTX 1660 Ti. Cambiar de una GTX 1070 a una GTX 1660 Ti no tiene ningún sentido.
Si estás planeando construir un PC desde cero, entonces una GPU basada en Turing parece una opción muy razonable, ya que las tarjetas de vídeo basadas en Turing seguramente tendrán un mejor rendimiento en futuros títulos que las GPU basadas en Pascal.
